We went to see one of the specialists with Gastro Health. He was very straight forward with his evaluation; no fluff in his comments, the way it should be. The gastro clinical care was great and professional. With the office staff; everyone was very nice and friendly. The front office staff seem to fumble with the paperwork and ids; misplacing the ids at times. After the exam, we went to see the discharge nurse and she was on top of her game; scripts and recommended tests were sent electronically and printed. Overall, a good experience. read more

Worst customer service. I paid their bill using electronic payment from my bank. They don't know where the check is and keep sending me bills. Tried going down in person, but receptionist wasn't able to help me. Called customer service (couldn't understand the person's accent). She wants a copy of the front and back of the bill - she didn't understand electronic payment, we don't have it but we have a printout of the payment. My husband was experiencing intestinal issues and Dr. Naus requested an office visit because he was considering an invasive procedure to see what is going on after a test showed something on his stomach. After hearing that my husband will be having a less invasive procedure this week, Dr. Naus decided that when he reviews the results of that procedure, he will probably decide not to invade a any further. He did not wish to knock my husband out at do a procedure that may not be necessary. He has a theory of why something showed up in a recent test. We appreciated that Dr. Naus took the time to meet with us and explain why he will not rush to operate. We will wait to see what happens this week after a test that will tell us more. It's actually a long story but will give you the cliff notes. I used the Boynton location 5 years ago and no issues with the procedure, but the help and assistants were not good. Talked to some of my friends now and funny thing is they thought the same thing. Terrible follow-up and they just didn't care. So, I said wow look you have an office closer to me maybe I can go to that one. They fought me on it but finally said ok. Had an appointment Dr seemed nice. We tried to make the appointment for the procedure but that's where the issues came in. They didn't care what I asked for I said you can make it 6 months out just want early no sorry can't promise you that so I will cancel and reschedule till I get a time that is acceptable well we will charge you for that. I said that doesn't seem right again I don't care how far out it is. Sorry you can go somewhere else we don't take requests. So that is what I am doing. Dr's seem fine help no good. read more

I was recently seen at GH and was treated with care and urgency. Dr. Cavell and her assistant were timely and incredibly helpful with my situation. The ability to go in office or have a remote appointment (when applicable) is efficient and I appreciate immensely. At no point, did I feel rushed and quite the opposite, I felt cared for. A plan was devised based on my results and we are moving to course. I know most people think Yelp is just about restaurant reviews, but they are wrong. Yelpers review everything from stores to bridges to golf courses to hair salons and of course restaurants. But today, I am going to go somewhere, where maybe no other Yelper has gone before. I am reviewing the land of tushies. Today I had a colonoscopy and I am not going to go into the granular details but I will talk about how easy the experience is when you have a great doctor. I figure if Katie Couric can have hers on national TV, I certainly can write a review about my experience. Katie's husband was only 42 when he passed away, so this test is definitely a lifesaver. My coworker referred me to Dr. Morris Naus and I had my consultation with him a few weeks ago. I really liked him, but not just him, his entire staff was fantastic. Making my appointment was easy, and the day of my consultation, Dr Naus actually ran on time. How many times do we sit in a doctor's office waiting for our turn? Here there is no waiting and the staff is cheerful, friendly and very compassionate. And there is no rush, Dr Naus spoke to me for quite a while. We sat in his office just like we were friends, that's how comfortable he made me feel. My first colonoscopy was six years ago and the prep was horrible. Not anymore, it's really so easy. I just had to drink 2 little cups of a mixture of cold water and a powder. Mine was cranberry flavored (it also comes in orange). Dr. Naus told me it would taste like Sprite and he was absolutely correct. Each cup is only five ounces, and I drank it with a straw. Really very easy and no funky aftertaste either. I was on a clear liquid diet for the day and that included Lemon Italian Ices!!! Everyone complains about the prep being a pain in the tush, but honestly, this prep was simple and easy. The out patient surgical center is right next door to Dr Naus's office. I was instructed to be there at 7am and the check-in was simple, and before I knew it I was going home. I have the rest of the day off from work and I feel totally fine, even fine enough to Yelp about it. A huge shout out to the wonderful nurses who took such good care of me. And I have to say that the facility was spotless. Listen, I am not saying that having a colonoscopy is as much fun as a day at Epcot, but don't be afraid of having this important test done. It truly is an easy procedure. And you can go off your diet and eat Italian Ices. Really it could be much worse. I highly recommend Dr. Morris Naus and I will definitely be seeing him in five years when I have to have this test done again. Unfortunately, cancer is very real and we all have lost people or know people who have had it in some form. This is an easy screening that can save your life. Don't be stupid, if you need it, just do it. I'm fine and you will be too. read more

My mother has always had a great experience with Gastro health, so when I had my own gastro problems, I went to see them myself. Unfortunately, the doctor left me waiting for about an hour, completely dismissed my problems, and prescribed me pills for my pain. He said it was food poisoning and I'd get better on my own. I have pancreatitis. Thank god for my primary doctor (who I saw after getting a SECOND OPINION from ANOTHER gastro doctor from the same Gastro health group, who also dismissed my symptoms) because my primary doctor ordered bloodwork and saw that my levels were off, identifying it as pancreatitis. Don't go here if you have an actual, serious issue you'd like to get taken care of. I saw two different doctors in two different locations of the same Gastro group. They both were rushed, dismissive and did not allow me the time to fully explain my situation and symptoms. They both said it was simply food poisoning and did not order any extra tests. If it weren't for my primary doctor, I would still be sick, suffering, and in pain with the assumption "it's going to get better eventually." In short, I wasted $90 seeing two gastro doctors when I could have spent $25 to see my primary, because she's the only one who could give me actual answers. DO NOT GO TO GASTRO HEALTH!!! read more

Terrible office management. Appointments are made "generically" through their website portal and then it's up to each office's staff to call patients and reschedule based on patient type, even though the website portal already asks you to confirm if you're a new or existing patient. I made an appointment weeks ago and they call days before my appointment saying they need to reschedule to another week because I'm a new patient and I'll require a longer 30 min appointment versus 15 min for existing patients. Did I mention this happened TWO times! I'm desperately waiting to see a doctor to get a renewal of Linzess and now I've run out of medication. They've cheaped out on a scheduling system and it has compromised the quality of patient care. read more

One star because Dr. Kaplan is very attentive, & super sweet (no attitude whatsoever, just kindness)!!! As for why no more stars? THE STAFF IS HORRIBLE. They schedule every 15 minutes (typical), but NO ONE pays any attention to the reason for the visit. My 10-15 minute follow-up was scheduled after a NEW PATIENT (read: hour-long appointment) was scheduled 15 minutes BEFORE ME. This then caused me to miss getting blood work done today because Quest was CLOSED after the schedule mistake! I must now take another whole day out of my life just to make a special trip to Quest!!!!! I USED TO WORK FOR A DOCTOR, & MADE THE SCHEDULE. It takes a tiny bit of thought! Additionally, I was supposed to have an appointment over a month earlier (because of a medication check), but this office refused to follow the doctors orders. I won't even mention how rude 75% of the staff have been over the phone when needing anything UNLESS U ARE IN DIRE STRAITS, AVOID THIS OFFICE. My husband was a patient there last year. He really like Dr. Chong. So now that I need to see a specialist, I called both offices I spent more than 60 minutes total waiting for someone to answer. I redialed once and let the phone ring for a half an hour just to annoy them. I finally got voice mail telling me to leave my info and they would get back to me. Well that was 5 days ago. I am tempted to go over to the office just to see how busy they really are. The worst experience of my life. Dr. Weiss is exceptional. The staff not so much. I left numerous messages for Yolanda the registration assistant, who I met following my initial appointment. Following my appointment I left over seven messages with her, as well as well as additional members of the staff, (Polly, Kim) because she never called me back all I wanted to know was what is the address of the surgical procedure so I can call my insurance to confirm costs. I have spent over three hours either calling or being on hold or being hung up on after being on hold. Every single excuse was, I'm sorry we're short staffed. When I was in the large hurry and wait room as I call it before the small hurry up and wait room waiting for the doctor there was a woman who had been in there ( large hurry up and wait room ) over one hour asking when can I see the doctor? My doctor (Dr Carvelle) was GREAT. BUT I have NEVER in my life experienced a worse front office. This place is a NIGHTMARE. They literally do not answer the main phone number! In the rare time you do get through it's a 20 min wait MINIMUM to speak with someone. The schedulers NEVER call back, they are RUDE and totally unprofessional. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. Saw Dr. Naus, for a colonoscopy that I've received prior multiple times elsewhere throughout the country. Astonishment, best describes my experience, from his support staff to facilities, leaves a lot to be desired. Dr. Naus, is very chatty when it comes to his weekly Wednesday, evening ritual of shopping at Costco, and less so when discussing his findings post colonoscopy. When waking after sedation I asked the nurse to speak with the Dr. to which she replied,"he's gone for the day, but said everything is fine." Never, ever have I ever experienced such behavior from a provider as with this buffoon. In what world is it professional or ethical not to directly discuss with a patient (customer) your findings and to see if the patient has any questions? As I move along this healthcare journey in Florida, I sadly realize the experience with Dr. Naus, is more the norm than the exception. As of 2023 Florida's, national healthcare ranking is 36 out of 50 states. read more

I've been CEO of 25 doc Ortho group and I'm very familiar with processes,policies and procedures. The docs at Gastro Health were OK... Not great. But the staff and the support staff and telephone manners and billing and information was absolutely terrible. You would receive better customer service at Walmart than you did at Gastro health. So if you never need to get a question answered about billing, make a follow up appointment, get additional information about procedures done etc. this is a solid practice for you to seek physician care. But as we've all heard the fish rots from the top. This practice needs serious help. read more

I am very grateful for Dr Daniel McGuire. I was told in NY that I did not need a colonoscopy until 2027! Dr McGuire thought otherwise and found polyps which can turn into cancer! Dr. Cavell deserves even more than 5 stars, she is truly incredible. Dr. Cavell is brilliant and thinks outside the box to get to the root of her patients' problems when other doctors would shrug it off and say "if you feel worse let me know but it seems fine for now!" Dr. Cavell consistently goes the extra mile to ensure the quality of care she provides to each patient. She is very kind and personable which makes it easier for the patient to become comfortable with her and truly trust her with their care. She is hands on and never makes you feel rushed at all - I imagine she is very busy but you never feel like she's rushing your appointment to start the next one which is such a positive aspect of her approach to patient care/interaction. She has always been incredibly prompt and I don't recall ever waiting for an appointment with her - even my mid-morning surgery was on time! She is very responsive via the online patient portal and I sincerely appreciate her making time for me/her other patients outside of appointments. I recommend Dr. Cavell anytime someone asks for a GI recommendation because she is truly such an amazing physician with so much talent! Genuinely the best physician I've ever had! read more

My first interaction with Dr Bromer and his staff was a teledoc with the doctor on June 3rd.  He asked why I had initially gotten a ultrasound and I told him it was because I am suffering from LARS and I have been nauseous and lots of pain.  He asked me what LARS is. ( Lower Anterior Resection Syndrome) and after he asked me about some of my symptoms he told me what I "perceived" as LARS was probably bacteria and prescribed an antibiotic. (Lars is what a lot of people deal with when they have lost their rectum from cancer or other diseases. It cause a LOT of issues with your bowels and it's a horrible quality of life for a lot of us.) Don't tell me what I've suffered with for the last three years is just bacteria.  He just negated all the pain and suffering I've had. He then told me to get him the last CT scan I had and the Blood work from my primary care Dr. I did that and didn't hear anything from him or his office. I called and sent emails but it took leaving a message for the dr to call me to have him call me from his home. He didn't hesitate to let me know he was put upon b y having to do it. It took him time to get into my info and then he told me he had to cut it short because he had another call in two minutes. I repeatedly told him and his staff how stressed I was because I am a two time cancer survivor with most recently colorectal cancer. One of the first places it metastasizes is the liver so understandably I was very concerned. He told me he wanted a cat scan anOd when I asked about what it could mean he said it would stress me more to guess and when he got the results to come in and we can discuss it.  I had the scan on June 23rd. They told me the results would be back in 1-2 business days so I called the office to make an appointment to come in and discuss with the doctor.  I called on Thursday, the 24th, and when I told the woman I wanted to make an appt to go over results she told me that the dr would call me. I told her he said to come in and she told me (not very nicely) they didn't even have an appointment for that. I again told her the dr told me to come in and she said hold on, came back and told me Mon 28th at 1.  By now I was so uncomfortable and I asked her if I should wait and very, very rudely told me I was "contradicting" myself and that my appt was Monday. I couldn't believe how nasty she was. If she is the first a patient comes into contact with this practice it doesn't give it a very good feeling. On Monday the 28th I was suffering from major bathroom issues and had to cancel my appointment. I called and told them and then they transferred me to his assistant and I left a message to please call me with test results.  It is now Wednesday (ONE WEEK) since the test and I still have NO IDEA what is wrong with me!!!!!!!!!!!! Will never go back and never recommend. Just because you're a doctor doesn't mean you're almighty! read more

What a disaster with billing. Gastro Health used a wrong billing code for Medicare Claim and the payment was rejected. Subsequently my secondary insurance followed Medicare. Received a bill fro Gastro Health for $542 for 15 minute office visit. Called them up to inquire and that that the nightmare started. Their Billing Department is useless and refused to take any responsibility. Then I called Patient Engagement at Gastro Health and they we polite by could not resolve this promptly. Still awaiting a call from supervisor. Makes one wander what kind of low functioning employees that practice has. Incidentally, when I called Medicare, they answered promptly, had all the information and made valid suggestions. Until Gastro re-submits the correct invoice this is still in limbo. read more

I went to Gastrohealth for occasional gas and constipation. A month later I went back and I told Dr. Naus and his P.A. Bosia, I was seeing worms. They did numerous stool samples and all were negative because the lab they use is useless. Doctor Naus was in Africa "deworming" and I worked with his P.A. I told her all my symptoms and even brought in a specimen for her to see. She told me it was a 5 inch vegetable. I asked to be referred to a Tropical Disease doctor because I knew what I was seeing. She made me feel like I was making it up. She said, "I cannot refer you because we don't even know if you have a tropical disease." WOW... Finally, after a trip to NYC to see Kevin Cahill, a tropical disease doctor, I finally was diagnosed with roundworm, whipworm and E. Hisotlytica from my extensive travel. They missed three parasites and my symptoms were classic... THE BEST PART: I sent my round worm results to them for medication and they didn't even call me back. read more

The first woman at the desk (an elderly woman) brushed me off her shoulders and said go to the double doors across the hall and they can help you. I went there and waited to be helped. Then the staff informed me that they did not have me scheduled for any appointments. We tried to schedule another appointment in a month. This experience has been such a waste of time. After getting referred to this practice, I had a telehealth intake appt which was done thoroughly. They then said someone would follow up to make an appt to the procedure. They already billed me for the prep with the pharmacy which was arriving in 5 days but no one ever called to schedule the appt. After trying 5 times to each someone on the phone, I finally got someone. She was the scheduler for Dr Stern and is very rude. She told me November was the first appt. I originally asked about timing and they failed to mention this or I would have just called another group. She later tried to defend the receptionist and PA for essentially misleading me and said only she knew the timing for the appt. This is a great business. Bill the insurance for an appt for medical history, bill the pharmacy plus copays and then let the patient know the appt is 5 months down the line. I guess this is the FL healthcare business. read more
