    Nice bar/counter area

We like BBQ and this was a new place near us we had never tried. We went around dinner time and it was somewhat busy as they do a Sip and Sale event every so often where local vendors can sell their stuff. The bartender greeted us and a server escorted us to a table. The table hadn't been wiped down yet from previous customers se we had to wait for that, then before things dried they placed the menus on the wet table. There were no napkins so we had to make sure we didn't get the table wipe down on us. A different person came and took our drink order. Then a few moments later the server who seated us came and asked for our drink order. I guess they don't assign tables? We ordered the drinks then watched the server seat other tables, take orders, bring out food, then stop by to say she was still in the process of getting our drinks. We got them then ordered. The food didn't take that long to come out and it was brought by a runner. But then we had to wait for silverware and napkins. It all looked good but my wife and I both independently said the meats seemed really dried out. My issue was the none of the tacos really stood out as far as flavor differences. Though some had sauce, some had corn and other stuff, and one had cheese and onions they all seemed more or less the same. We finished, or I should say I finished. My wife left part of her sandwich and most of her Mac and Cheese. While the servers were polite, and the place seemed be hopping, I doubt we will return.

When traveling, I love eating at local establishments curated from Yelp. Gastropit was exceptional in the areas that matter, food quality and service. I had smoked wings (awesome), a pulled pork sandwich, and a sampler of burnt ends. All were excellent, but the wings were in a league of their own. The restaurant's interior is simple, but it just feels good to be there in short order. I sat at the bar, and my bartender/server gave outstanding recommendations (they were spot on). I only wish I had a little more time for my meal. Lastly, the prices for the outstanding fare were more than reasonable.

Quick checklist type review: It's sit down table service, not order from a counter. So that's nice and relaxing, but add the price of a tip to your meal. Burnt ends were delicious, tender, could have been a little more "burnty", has a tasty "Asian-style bbq sauce" (think bbq w/teriyaki notes). Potato salad was top notch. Note that they don't peel the potatoes, which I kinda like. Pit beans were good, but not very "pitty" in my opinion. I like to really feel the drippings in there, not just find bits of meat. Brisket tacos were excellent. If you don't like jalapenos (me), just pick of the two slices that sit on top. If you like jalapenos, you might be a bit disappointed that there are just two raw slices sitting on top. Cornbread was dense and moist, and good. They include a small dish of honey butter to spread on it.

Best nachos I have ever had. They made their own tortilla chips, their own cheese sauce, candy jalapenos, we added burnt ends into a scallions sprinkled on top. We eat them all, especially liked the burnt ends. They are a from scratch kitchen. We were there for lunch. In time for Happy Hour, two dollars off the appetizer. Limit beer selection Happy Hour price. We ordered 2 tacod each and both agreed that ship tacos was the best. My chicken taco and my husband's pork taco, were both dry. We wanted to eat outside on the patio but they were working on sprucing it up at the end of the season. We eat inside inside. The table tops were a nice wooden slabs with polyurethane and you could still see the grain in the wood. The had good size bar. We will return to try some of their other menu items.

YUMMY! First time trying this place and loved it! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Very well seasoned and a lot of meat. The kiddo had the chicken sandwich and liked very much with the sweet sauce! My hunny had the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese. He said the mac and cheese was good a bit different tasted smoky. The place is small and cozy! Very friendly staff and great service!

Located on Manchester, this place is in a small strip mall and the size is definitely smaller than I imagined it would be. The space offers bar seating and a few tables that can accommodate more than 5 followed by several 4 tops and a few 2 tops. Friendly service and food came out fast. Loaded Fries, wow it's huge! Easily can feed 4 people. Flavors were great and the cheese sauce had a nice richness to it along with the crispy fries. Avocado Turkey sando was great! Luved the toasted bread and the aioli had a nice balance. I added bacon to mine! Reason for the 4... the Mac n Cheese. It was just OK. Needed some seasoning and could benefit from a bit more creaminess. Overall a great experience and will definitely visit again.

Food & service was good. Wish they used more of the beacon & jam sauce. Decor and atmosphere was great

I didn't realize Gastopit moved from the city to Ballwin. When we placed our order, we drove to their old location and realised they weren't there anymore. The staff was gracious enough to hold our food until we got to their new location eventhough they were closed. We really appreciate their costumer service. I ordered their burnt ends, mac&cheese and a side of corn bread. This is my to-go bbq order, I wasn't as impressed like I was in the past. My burnt end was not really juicy, it was dry and so was my mac&cheese. The corn bread was decent, and I realised we got no butter or maybe they don't normally give butter? I have had positive food experience in the gastropit while they were still stationed in STL. I went with some friends in the past, their bbq was great and so were their drinks. I don't know what happened when I ordered carryout.

We visited the Gastropit for the first time yesterday and it didn't disappoint. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu - they can provide recommendations & suggestions based on you taste profiles with ease. It was early so we sat at the bar to engage with the staff and ask about different items and learn more about Gastropit. We opted for the Brisket Burnt ends with green beans & corn bread to share to get started. The brisket fell apart beautifully when touched with a fork, the flavors were fantastic and, if the Asian-style BBQ sauce is not your speed, there are 6 other options available to try as well (really enjoyed the jalapeño Carolina!). We also ordered a taco each to enjoy. I went with the pork taco which had meat a plenty and it was fantastic. Very flavorful and in no way dry at all. The pickled onion, fresh red radish slaw & chipotle aioli where great compliments to the well cooked pork. We definitely will be returning soon and we both were happy to find a new spot locally to enjoy.

We went on a Tuesday evening and were sat right away for dinner. They have happy hour specials that go until 5:00. Service was amazing and drinks as well. I had salad with brisket on top and the brisket was flavorful and so tender!! Everyone else at our table loved their choices, and there are multiple sauces available on each table. Televisions with sporting events on throughout. Casual dress, and great availability for parking. We will definitely return again!!

Please proceed with caution and double check your food before eating here!!!!!! Terrible service! They served us meat that was discolored due to chemical packaging leaking on to the meat!! I spent more than $60 on this order and the manager : Lindsey Darabcsek ignored my inquiry and concern with the food quality. Tried requesting a refund and it has been well over 2 months since my inquiry with 0 action what so ever. And guess what? When I first reached out they said this has happened before!!

I also ordered the chicken queso and the photo on Door Dash looked appealing...however there was barely any queso and a small thimble sized offering of Pico de gallo. The establishment does not allow special instructions and I would've preferred more queso if you are going to advertise this dish as a chicken queso dish

We ordered drinks and a starter and then figured out our entrees. We LOVE big pretzels! I've never had a bad one - until the one we had here. It was not good. There were little black seed type things - maybe poppy seeds? Unusual and not good. But even without that - not good. And the two sauces that came with it weren't good. My husband had pizza and said it was okay. I got fish and chips and did not like it. There were three pieces of fish, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. I chose onion rings for my side. I ate one piece of fish. It was really overcooked. The tartar sauce was not good. I didn't try the coleslaw because it didn't even look like coleslaw! My husband will try just about anything and he wouldn't try it. The onion rings were okay. We were there on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy. We won't be back.

I'm not usually one to harp on service at a restaurant but this was egregious. It took over an hour and a half for food to come out and another 20 minutes for mains. The kitchen staff did look short, but I can't imagine it takes that long to whip up some deviled eggs. Additionally, we were informed half way in that two of the three items we ordered they had somehow ran out of. Mind you this was at 7:30, peak dinner service. For the sake of being nitpicky, we had also only received a singular water refill the entire night. Brutal. Now I would be willing to set all of this aside if the food actually delivered to any degree, but it was all very below par. These deviled eggs were sad. I am confident I could make these better at home, better yet buy them at a grocery store. While the pork shank was massive, the chutney it came cooked in was entirely too salty and dominated what was already a one-note flavor profile. The burger was nothing extraordinary.. definitely more rare than the medium we had asked for. Just an overall dissatisfactory experience to say the least. One of the more memorable meals I've had, but for all the wrong reasons. TLDR: Brutal service, mediocre food
