I've only come here for bakery items but their breads are super fresh, the guava empanadas are delicious, the person working is nice and attentive and all in all it's a quiet bakery with delicious items. My only wish is that they add more savory items to the selection.

    Almojabana (Pan De Bono) Coffee

Best Colombian bakery in Astoria. They got Colombian baked goods like Pan de bono and buñuelo. The coffee is great. Their grilled chicken is very good that's my go to meal.

I had the Mini bandeja and it was okay. I also order the guacamole on green plantains amd found it flavorless. The icing on the cake was the tip suggestion. It was done with faces and if I only tipped 15% I was a frown. I found it obnoxious.

Stopped by here for brunch and it did not disappoint. I've picked up pastries here from time to time (pan de bono is my fave!) and it's been fresh every time. The service here is very friendly and attentive. Ambiance is great. The mixed meat arepa and seafood paella were well seasoned and had great flavor. The caramel flan was classic. We washed it down with some delicious cocktails as captioned in the pics. The owners were pleasant to talk to. This is a great place to stop by for bread+coffee, an authentic Colombian meal, or to just kick some cocktails back during a long workday!

A lovely local neighborhood spot. Once you step in, you know you're ready for a good meal from the decor to the music. When we came only two people were working and although service was a bit slow, you could really tell they were working really hard and still super attentive to you. We got the picada sampler and it was so filling. It lasted two people, two meals but it was delicious. Get some mini buñuelos as you wait. Food did not disappoint and do not sleep on the green sauce!!

    Arepa con Queso

Wonderful huevos pericos with great flavor although a bit salty. Good other staples, but arepa con queso a bit stale and tough.

Being that this was so close to the train station, it definitely was a given fact that we would give it a go here. Came in for a Colombian breakfast that was fairly large in size, but I didn't love the flavors enough to continue eating. Gata Golosa also offers a bunch of baked items that I see a lot of people pick up, but I just wasn't looking to have too much carbs for breakfast. I would probably not give it another go since I didn't see anything else on the menu that stood out. For those who are dining in, you do not need to stand in line to order. You can sit down and someone will walk over to take your order. It's a little confusing at first since they don't have any mention of this and everyone just goes straight for the counter.

Be prepared to be showered with affection in traditional colombian fashion, as well as very large amounts of homey paisa food

The decor is fun and pays homage to Colombian culture which I appreciated. Their specials menu had an Iced Banana Latte which is totally up my alley so I decided to try it. I usually get a latte with a syrup and I assumed this was exactly that - a banana syrup. Unfortunately, it was more like a frappe where the espresso, banana, and milk was blended together. I think it's misleading to call it a latte as it wasn't what I was expecting. And for ~$9, I just expected more richness from the espresso but the milk was just overpowering. Even based on the appearance, it was very milky/foamy rather than coffee or banana-forward. If I find myself back here, I'll probably go for their classic coffees instead.

The only…read morereason I return is because it's my grandmother's preferred restaurant since she lives nearby. We arrived around 6:20-6:30 p.m. There were plenty of open tables, but we weren't seated until much later. During that time, the male waiter seemed more concerned with other tasks. He was seating a woman whose party of six hadn't yet arrived, going back and forth to the kitchen, handing out receipts, and collecting menus. After all of that, he finally approached us--not to seat us--but to ask, "How long are you going to take?" I replied, "Sir, we're here to eat." He responded that the side tables were for people watching the game. I explained that we were there to dine, as this is a restaurant. Even after we were seated, he avoided our table completely. He took the order of a table that had been seated after us while we continued waiting. About 20 minutes later, a female waitress noticed we had not been helped and took over our table. She was attentive, professional, and the only reason we received service. After placing our order, we waited about an hour for our entrées. The food was also underwhelming. The Papa a la Huancaína came with an excessive amount of sauce and very few potatoes. The Ceviche Mixto lacked the bright citrus flavor that ceviche should have. My grandmother, who is very familiar with Peruvian cuisine, found it bland, and even after taking it home we couldn't improve it. The Bistec Encebollado was slightly too salty for our taste. The beans simply weren't to my liking, though that's a matter of personal preference. Another issue is the dining room layout. The seating is extremely tight, to the point where it feels like you're almost elbow-to-elbow with the tables next to you, making the experience feel cramped. Overall, this visit was disappointing. Between the slow and inattentive service, the long wait for food, the cramped seating, and several disappointing dishes, the experience did not justify the visit. The female waitress deserves recognition for stepping in when we had been overlooked, but unfortunately she couldn't make up for the rest of the experience.
