I went on a Tuesday morning at 10am. The lunch special is a good deal so I would return for that. However, everything else on the menu is very pricey for what it is. Taste was ok and nothing special. But I felt like I was spending special prices. My kids did not enjoy their meal and they're huge fans of meat rice potatoes usually. This place is a neighborhood restaurant that is filled with locals. The place was bustling on a Wednesday night, I'm wondering how it is during the weekends. There's no need to make any reservations. However, if you have more than four in your group, reservations are probably necessary. For the food, we went straight for the entree and got the grilled steak and corn cake with cheese. I enjoyed it. The hot sauce that they gave on the side was great. I got a drink which was on a separate menu. It was a passion fruit flavored margarita. I came here last week with my boyfriend to get some Colombian food and watch the Colombia vs Panama game (since we knew this restaurant was going to be playing the game). We arrived about 40 minutes before kickoff and got a seat in a nearly full restaurant of people waiting to watch the game. My boyfriend and I got a starter, food, and drinks and since everything came out quickly we were practically done by the time the game started. The waitresses had been very kind up until more customers came in waiting for seats. Since we had finished our meals the waitress brought us our check and I told us she needed the table back for the other guests. Note, we had been there for only 45 minutes and the game had just started. We asked if we could stay and watch the game and order more food so we could keep the table, to which the waitress seemed annoyed and said said she would be back (the restaurant was busy so she probably left to go check on other customers). Two more waitresses would come by and (for the most part very kindly) told us they needed our table back. We left 10 minutes later since the whole interaction left a bad taste in our mouths. Maybe next time advertise a per table minimum $$ to watch the soccer game you are inviting people to come watch so you don't have to tell your clients to leave (despite us asking if we could order more food to keep the table)???? And to ask someone for the table back when they hadn't even been there for 1 hour seems strange. There is a cornucopia of meat options that would make you bring the blood pressure pills just to keep the heart afloat. Parking can be challenging, so keep that in mind, as the governor/mayor wants people to do without cars by using public transportation. They have been eliminating parking spots with their citibikes all over nyc. It was a late lunch around 2:30 when we all arrived. The restaurant was half full, and our waitress approached our table with menus once we chose a table. There was a slight language barrier issue when explaining the egg yolk to be cooked all the way, but our waitress was a champ and immediately fixed it right away for my friend. Chicken fingers and fries was ordered for her daughter, bistec a caballo (steak in creole sauce topped with egg in addition to the rice and beans) for the bestie, and I opted for the bandeja paisa ( grilled beef, pork skin, sausage, egg, corn cake, sweet plantain, rice, beans, and avocado. The meats give me the meat sweat! I highly recommend to cut up pieces of everything to try to fit it all on the fork to eat at the same time. Come hungry. If there's anything you retain here, is that the portions are ginormous! Great for party size, family meals, Sunday dinner. Every dish can serve 2, with leftovers for the next 2 days, easy. Best item I tried was the cream seafood casserole, tons of seafood pieces, hearty broth, delicious, perfect for that chilly day when you need to warm your soul. Next up is their typical platter, the Bandeja Paisa, the ultimate meats lover dish! Its got everything, beef, chicharron (best part), chorizo, eggs, avocado, rice and beans! Next tier dishes are the grilled sirloin (excellent presentation with the sizzling hot plate, though some parts of the meat was a little tough), the gigantic flat breaded chicken (almost the size my face, mostly good but some parts dry), and the rotisserie chicken (don't be greedy, 1/4 is more than enough, not the juiciest I've had but very good, 10x better than grocery store ones). All 3 were good, huge portions as you can see. Fries are superb here, very enjoyable. Rice and bean sides are ok, I would skip if dining solo as you get overly full. Or swap with fries if you can. Their chicken consommé was very clean and pure, great chicken flavor. As for dessert, Tres leches cake was excellent but share it! It was too heavy for me, sadly I left 2 bites on the table. There are a dime a dozen Colombian establishments all throughout Queens, but Mis Tierras Colombianas has gotten the closest to my foodgasm'ing experiences in the motherland. I am pretty confident I could eat here every day since they have so much good stuff. Like many restaurants along this stretch of Roosevelt, it's long and narrow with plenty of seating. During the pre-COVID days, it wasn't uncommon for them to have live music and a packed house on a weeknight. The bustling service was always on point and their bar was a good spot to sit at for a drink and a mean meal. The food is fairly typical in terms of their offerings and while they do a good job on most everything, I think their meat game is their strength. Their meats and platters are worthy of every bite, especially the skirt steak ($24) and their parrillada platter ($34). At $17, the bandeja paisa isn't exactly a bargain but it is definitely is filling. A platter with rice, beans, carne asada, chicharron, egg, avocado, and chorizo it makes for a very hearty option almost always. I personally enjoy this location more than their previous Astoria one. The Woodside one is really does well with a local crowd and there really isn't much (good) competition in terms of Colombian anything in Woodside, so I'm hoping they stay for awhile and keep all of us well fed and happy. read more

I am usually partial to American-style cuts and temps (thick and med-rare), and at first glance I did not expect to like the paper-thin steak at all, let alone love it. We used to go to the old location in Astoria but now that they moved to Woodside we checked it out for dinner and love it still. The vibe is great, felt like we were in another country. They workers wear a green T-shirt and white pants and hats. They have multiple tv's with soccer on and a full bar. The food is just as god as we remember it but the green sauce here they only give it to you in these little plastic sauce containers. In Astoria they gave it to us in a big glass ramekin.
