If you from from this dealer get all free service such as oil change and other serve in writing, as they will not honor what they tell you unless you are able to produce proof. I purchase used car and was told I would receive extended warranty for 12 months which would include 2 free oil changes. Went to get my first oil change the other day and they said nothing was in the computer about that so I had to pay $80.00 out of my own pocket. I as looking for a pickup to replace the one that I had stolen so I have been in the market for a few weeks. I spent had spent several hours in another dealership the previous Saturday and did not have a positive experience after almost 5 hours of unsuccessful shopping and negotiating. I was dreading another wasted Saturday. I found a truck that seemed to be what I was looking for and at a good price so I filled out the Internet interest form on a Sunday. Monday morning I not only got an email but also a courtesy call to follow up with what I was looking for. I explained that I was heading out of town on business and wouldn't be home until the end of the week and to check back with me if the truck was still available. I got a call from, Steve, in used sales on Friday just a he said he would. We set up for me to come in mid Saturday morning to look at the truck. When we arrived the truck was waiting on us to take it for a spin just as Steve said. The truck was actually better than it was advertised online and after driving it we agreed to buy it. Steve took us to finance and Marci was helpful and quick in getting everything processed. My wide and I were driving away in our "new" truck in less that 2 hours start to finish with a FULL tank of gas and free car washes for life. I went to Gateway Buick GMC first thing in the morning and after 5 hours of touring other car lots, I quickly realized that Bob Seabaugh and his fantastic salesman Bill Lavender were by far the most professional and knowledgable about their product and seemed to be the only ones who actually wanted to get to know my wife and I and find the best truck for our budget and lifestyle. We bought the brand new 2015 Sierra SLT and absolutely love it! I called this dealership on behalf of my mother who was in the new car market. She lives 4 hours away and knew she could find a better deal in DFW than back at home. I had located the vehicle she was looking for, Buick Encore (specific color and trim), called the dealership. My mother was going to be paying cash for a vehicle, so we needed to know the bottom line, cash out the door price. I first spoke with a sales lady, who upon finding out it was going to be a cash deal and need to know an out the door price, told me she needed to have a "senior sales person" call me back. What, you're a salesperson and can't make a deal?? So another salesman calls me back and we begin to talk numbers. Well, the numbers were just the list price plus TT&L. The vehicle had a pretty decent price anyway so we agree to the numbers. I tell the salesman that my mother can't make it up here until Sunday and we would be at the dealership first thing Monday morning. He tells me that wouldn't be a problem. Mind you, this phone call is happening around 5-6pm. The next morning, the original sales lady I had spoke to calls me and informs me the vehicle we had made a deal on had sold, but they had another vehicle that would work out....for 3 grand more!! First of all they basically sold a vehicle from under us. Did you really sell the vehicle (would of had to been in the last couple hours the dealership was open the evening before, but they waited until the next day when the dealership opened to call me?)? Seemed like they wanted someone to come in and finance the vehicle so they could get the extra money and commission from financing instead of a cash sale. Why did the original sales lady call instead of the sales man who we'd made the deal with? But....it all worked out though. Found the exact same vehicle at Buick of McKinney where they actually negotiated the price, looked up every single rebate possible, and got a price that was a couple thousand less than that of what Gateway was going to do. I dealt with one single salesman, Matt, who was amazing. And they guaranteed they would not sell the vehicle from under us. Matt pulled the keys and considered the vehicle sold and would be waiting for us to arrive on Monday morning. I made an appointment at 9:30, 24 hrs later, and I STILL had no update from the service advisor on the status of my car. I called 5 times and all 5 times I was told that my service advisor would call me but he failed to do so. The service at this location is horrible i took my 2018 yukon to them for a sensor, 2 weeks later they gave it back to me saying nothing was wrong with it. Took it back in Aug with the same issue and they found it was a transmission issue, supposedly they repaired my transmission hours after picking up my vehicle all the air bags in my car went out take in mind my car was not even moving it was in park almost a month later and I'm stuck with no car and having to pay for a car that is not in my possesion and for a rental because they cant even provide me with a loaner. Avoid this place like the plague. Found a used car for my son who just turned 16 priced at $8995. As a person that has bought cars numerous times I have never seen that price go up $1000 with fees, these fees did not include tax title and license. The night before we went to the dealership we spoke with Kelly the salesman. We told him we had our own financing through our credit union and that we wanted to stay under $10,000. Kelly assured us that with the price of the vehicle at $8995 and tax title and license that would be no problem. Well guess what it was a problem because apparently gateway Buick gmc of garland has fees that don't tell you about until you are signing papers, yea the price of the car went up to $9884 without tax title and license. I have been trying to reach Kelly and the finance manager Don Guiterez all morning to discuss what can be done before I write negative reviews. I have called both multiple times this morning with no answer and no call back. This was my first and only vehicle to ever purchase from here. I wish my husband would had put more thought in to where we would purchase our Truck. After going to BMW of Tyler, we were left with an impression that even when buying an used vehicle you should be treated as if you are buying the most expensive on the lot! We went for the end of the year sales bc who doesn't like to save?? The sales guy that attended us was GREAT! The guy with the numbers... HA! Not so much... again! HA! He was trying to get lucky with us as if it was our first rodeo! Women BEWARE! Gateway was THE WORST dealership I've ever dealt with. I went alone since my husband had to work thinking it wouldn't be that bad but I was WAY WRONG! First round of negotiations with Bill and his finance team they started out with the MRSP price. I told them no, here is the advertised sale price and that's where we start. Bill didn't seem to like that.. maybe he didn't think I did my homework on the truck.. so he went back to his finance guy & came back but had added in ridiculous fees and low balled my trade. I told Bill no, that wasn't going to work and try again. He snickered at me, shook his head and said things like "it's just simple math". He went back again and he came back with an even more ridiculous offer- Bill and his team at Gateway obviously didn't take me as a serious buyer. I'm sure if my husband had been with me, he wouldn't have treated me that way, saying thing like "maybe it's too much car for you". But this NIGHTMARE gets better.. when leaving I asked why they gave me such a low offer on my trade..Bill told me it was in excellent condition except for that long scratch down the drivers side. I was shocked to go outside and sure enough they had put a 24 inch scratch down the drivers side door which WAS NOT there when I drove it in! Extremely upset, Bill told me "yes it was there, Amy". Back and forth he was arguing with me outside the dealership until I just LOST IT!! Then all of a sudden he gets a magic solution and buffs it out!!! Never in my life have I've seen a tactic like this used to low ball my trades! It was some type of black rubber compound to make it look and feel like there was a deep scratch on it. No apologies from Bill he just said "it must have rubbed up against something back there" so upset at how I was treated I told my husband who emailed there general manager Jamie Juarez, with no response from him either. So save yourself money and a big headache and drive a little further down to HERITAGE GMC in Rockwall. They reasonably negotiated with me, gave me $3k MORE for my trade and I got exactly what I wanted!! This incident happened 9/5/18- and never heard a single response from them so this must happen often with this dealership. I know companies pay for reviews but this one is for FREE! Worst experience ever with a dealership. Went there about 3 weeks ago. They collected ALL of our information before they would negotiate on the car. I thought we were going to end up buying the car, so I didn't mind taking the time to speed up the back end. They told me we could talk about price once they gathered our info. Never experienced anything like it before, so I should have questioned it more. When we started "negotiating" price, they wouldn't budge. I said I didn't want the car if they weren't going to budge. We left and ended up getting a car elsewhere for a much lower price. I was fine with leaving it as a bad experience for myself; however, after I just received a notice that they ran my credit, I feel inclined to warn everybody about this dealership. Oh, and he got my name wrong twice and had no idea what features existed on THEIR vehicles....after continuing to show me vehicles that didn't meet the description of what I wanted. Just all around a bad place to do business with. I tried to buy a truck there and they told me one deal over the phone stating that the contract was written up just come in and sign. Got there had to wait for an hour for them to come back and say that they needed me to do things I told them I did not want to do. But tried to pressure me anyway. Also bought parts from there as well never got them and was never refunded was actually doubled charged and the parts department could care less about correcting the issue. Horrible service all the way around. Waiting on floor mats for 3 and half hours after having to pry the mats out of the sales man. Couldnt even stay on subject for five minutes during the sale without trying to purchase my other truck from me off the books for his brother. The Spanish sales man told me and I quote "I hate dealing with Mexicans they never have credit and always want the best deals. They never have credit and just waste my time." Held extra key and fob until I gave them the spare to my Cadillac. Within 5 minutes of waiting for my floor mats two gentlemen were talking about there brand new purchased Buick. He came to pick it up from service and the bay door crashed slamming the hood of the vehicle. The other gentleman replied with he had an appointment on Saturday, came an hour early and he wasn't even on the schedule. From the top of the food chain, this so called managing partner Charles, all the way down to the bottom this place is a sham. If you want to waste time, get taken advantage of, lied to, and made fun of please visit this dealer. Go straight to the owner and see how things are run. It's August in Texas and the a/c on my 1 year old Acadia went out. It happens. I have a toddler and I was dreading taking my vehicle in for service. The long wait, hassle of getting around, moving car seats, strollers, etc. I called Gateway and they totally changed my point of view. Blake took my car in immediately and set me up with a loaner vehicle. The drop off process (from the smiling faces at the cashier's desk to the service drive) took less than 15 minutes. Everyone was ready and willing to lend a hand. They had my vehicle for 2 days and fixed the issue. When I picked my car up all the gentlemen in service were courteous and professional. Again, the whole process took about 15 minutes. My car was fixed and clean! Should I have any further issues with my vehicle I look forward to working with the team at Gateway! read more

Got a letter for a recall on my GMC truck. Since I bought my truck from a non-GMC dealer, I looked up the first GMC dealer I could find. I lucked out and found Gateway. These guys were great. I called them to schedule and b/c my schedule was packed...they said I could drop it off and they could work me in (would take longer but it was okay since it worked better with my schedule for a certain day). They got me in, fixed my recall issues, and I had them change my oil. When I got there, my truck looked great...they had given me a car wash (which was unexpected and appreciated). Everyone was super nice and very helpful. Lots of smiles and people thanking me for coming in...I appreciate the extra hospitality. I will be coming back for my regular maintenance (and they will get a shot at other repairs, which I am usually more sensitive to going to dealers b/c of cost). read more

Purchased a 2014 certified Buick Regal less than 8 hours ago so this review is only for the dealership experience. Gateway absolutely has the best prices, well below fair market. I spent a whole day from 10:00am to 8:00pm perusing GM dealerships all over DFW! Our sales associate Eric was so friendly and not pushy at all. Ultimately in the end all the cars we saw we're nice so it came down to who did we want to do business. With based on our test driving experience. Stony helped with finance and was super quick with the paperwork yet very thorough and got us an even better rate than what we had walked in with. My biggest tips for any car buying are: 1. Do your research online first 2. See as many cars as you can 3. Don't be afraid to walk away even if they say someone else is coming to look at it. (If they sell it...it wasn't meant to be) 4. Bought my brand new GMC Sierra from them in 2011. Ok buying experience from Bill Lavender, a lot of hassle. Since then he call me randomly several times a year asking if I want a new truck or trade it in; very annoying. Every time I have been in the service department for something as basic as an oil change, they give me an attitude about not having an appointment. But somehow still are able to do the work. Charles in Service is worthless. This last time I had some work done, he calls ready to pick it up, go to pay at cashier and she tells me they recommend additional work including front headlight is out. Why did they not tell me this in the phone BEFORE I picked it up, because I would have told them to fix the items they found!! The truck was freshly washed...had all the equipment described...had a full tank of fuel...AND...Stony delivered it to me in Fort Worth...50 miles away!!! Horrible service!! The service dept has extremely long waits (even with an appointment). Never on time. I went there with issues with a tire losing air. They rotated my tires and sent me on my way. Buyer beware of this dealership. My dealings with the salesperson, the service manager, and the GM left me disgusted and completely dissatisfied with the "customer service." I bought a 2007 Mercury Montego from this dealership in May of this year. When test driving this vehicle, my wife and I noticed the car's air conditioning didn't get cold. However, once we jumped on the highway, the A/C system compressed and seemed to work better. We figured the car was hot from sitting in the sun and was just taking longer to cool off. Wrong. Two weeks after I purchased it, I noticed the same things. The car's A/C would blow warm air at low speeds and when sitting in traffic---which never happens in Dallas, right? I took it to another dealership to get checked out. Turns out the A/C compressor and the schrader valves are shot. The salesperson, the service manager, and the GM all refuse to accept responsiblity for an obvious pre-existing condition. In an attempt to be reasonable, I offered to purchase the replacement parts if they would just pick up the labor by repairing the car in their shop. Nothing doing. They refused to cooperate and work towards a mutually beneficial solution to the problem. Do NOT visit this dealership. You may roll the dice and get a good car and an honest salesperson. But with thousands of dollars at risk on your purchase, is that a risk you're willing to take? In hindsight, I wouldn't. Also, my previous complaint was removed or hidden--no doubt, by the dealership itself or someone acting on orders from them. From those kinds of tactics, you can probably surmise what kind of people you will be dealing with if you choose to purchase your vehicle from this dealership. My experience buying my new truck was okay. Service after the sale was not. My "NEW" truck had scratches that required the roof and rear quarter panel to be repainted. Long story short after 24 days of ownership the dealership had possession of my "NEW" vehicle for 15 of those days and I had possession of it for 9. Upon going to pick up the truck the first go round in which I was told it was fixed, it was not and had new grease stains on the front passenger seat. I was told they did their part in fixing the vehicle and that I agree but they did absolutely nothing to try and make up for this. Nothing. I was made to feel as I was the one in the wrong in this whole situation. Horrible customer service. Do not buy from them. You will regret it. read more

Worst place to purchase a vehicle from . I went in right before thanksgiving 2018 to see the deals they had . So first off I have good credit and they hit me with a crazy deposit amount and crazy payment but not too much where I couldn't afford it so I purchased a 0 mile Sierra parked inside the dealer !!! So most of the time those are the nicer ones . Well a week into my new vehicle thanksgiving week it was hot so I turn a/c on come to find out I have no a/c !! I'm pissed so I take it in , they supposedly fixed it . I left it at that . But 3 months later in March my a/c is out again!! So I bring it in again. And they're like omg we are shocked !! Well I'm pissed so I tell them just fix the damn thing . Well they did it worked fine until May , guess what ?! It's out again wtf !!! My brand new vehicle is worse than a used older car !! So o go in demanding a refund or another vehicle. They say well you can another one but payments will be higher !!! Wtf is wrong with these ppl ? STAY AWAY FROM SERVICE DEPARTMENT! We have taken our 2012 Acadia in for service several times. The vehicle has less than 65K miles on it yet we've had to change the water pump, fuel pump and two catalytic converters. While these could be results of GMC's crappy manufacturing, it did not help that after the last service Gateway's service department gave me our car back with TWO Freon leaks! They had the car for a week and tried to tell me I must not have noticed the leak before I dropped it off (after they drove it 100 miles). We live in Texas, I would have noticed if my AC did not work. I took the car to two different mechanics and both told me it had to be caused at dealership. I tried dealing with assistant service manager who was rude, tried to put words in my mouth and basically told me I didn't know what I was taking about. I called the service manager several times and emailed him but he never even had the decency to return my phone call. The service at this dealership is awful! read more
