My experience with Gateway GMC and their sales management team was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. After spending most of a Saturday afternoon negotiating the purchase of a GMC Yukon with salesperson Esteban Fernandez, I was led to believe we had a deal in place. I explicitly notified the dealership Monday morning that we would be returning Monday evening to complete the paperwork, and there was no indication of any issue or risk of the vehicle being sold. Despite this, I was notified less than two hours before our scheduled arrival that the vehicle had been sold to another customer. This occurred after Gateway GMC had already pulled my credit, collected copies of our driver's licenses, and obtained payoff information for my trade-in vehicle, all supposedly to prepare the paperwork ahead of our arrival. Clearly, they had no hesitation collecting sensitive personal and financial information while having no real commitment to honoring the deal. To make matters worse, instead of taking responsibility, the dealership attempted to upsell us a different vehicle at $3,800 more, which felt less like a mistake and more like a bait-and-switch tactic. This reflects extremely poorly on both the sales management team and Esteban Fernandez, who failed to advocate for the customer or communicate honestly. This experience demonstrates a complete lack of customer service, zero respect for a customer's time, and predatory sales practices that prioritize squeezing more money out of buyers rather than honoring agreements. If Gateway GMC treats prospective customers this way before a sale is finalized, I can only imagine how they handle issues after the paperwork is signed. I strongly caution anyone considering doing business here: do not assume verbal agreements mean anything, and do not provide personal or financial information unless you are prepared for the dealership to walk away without notice. I have traded email with Randy Morgan over the last 6 months about the Internet buzz over potential Grand National being added to Buick line, built perhaps in the Buick Regal Turbo model. I was in Gateway to get my 2011 Buick Regal Turbo driver low beam changed while in service, waiting Randy saw me and we chatted. I told him I looked online and Gateway had no Regal Turbo GS on the website, oddly I saw online there was only 8 such vehicles in the DFW area. Randy asked me what color I was wanting?. Black, silver or the dark grey. 2015?2016? Either, prob 2016 unless highly discounted. Randy found the real inventory had a silver 2016 the dealership bout the show car from the Fair. So we went to the auction to pick it up, I drove it back to the dealership and after a brief, fair negotiation, ally bank and I now have an ongoing new car loan. Lol Motivated buyer, great salesman (2nd car from Randy) and the experience was an 11 out of 10. Randy had to overcome my dilemma. My 2011 Turbo had 93,000 miles on it but was a no trouble car. All service at Gateway, oil changes, normal service and a new pair of tires. Although I had interest in the GN or GS, my 2011 was a very reliable low maintenance car. Randy is invaluable in my deal at Gateway. I'm from Coleman County in Central West Texas, and I trust Zrandy to be honest and fair. He always has been both with me. Certainly I will continue to be a loyal customer at Gateway and to Randy. Blake in service is my rep there, Blake is also awesome and he had suggested I look nto the GS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this dealership. This is my 2nd review. The first (Apr 29) did not seem to stay there for more than a day. Apparently yelp did not recommend it because I was a new yelp user? However, note I did purchase a vehicle from Gateway, so I would think my opinion should count. Also I would recommend yelp move the note of "non-recommended reviews" to the top of the section rather than the bottom. The purpose of this should be to inform the public before they make a bad decision, not after they spend hours in trying to inform others. Long story made short. The SUV was misrepresented. A physical trip there (the next business day) and discussion with 2 of the top managers got no results. After I made many phone calls and sent several e-mails to the owner/operating partner I finally did receive 1 phone call back from 1 of the 2 top mgrs. (note this took 18 days!). Still no satisfaction. The owner/operating partner has yet to call - and it's been 7-8 weeks. I have subsequently discovered my salesman left the dealership. Smart move on his behalf. I needed a new truck so i went into the Gateway dealership mind you 3rd dealership that day, and met Chris Kown. We discussed my needs and he went looking 10 minutes later Chris comes back, shows me 2 trucks. Shows me one that fits my needs and the other not only met but exceeded needs. What i liked was how that there was no BS, straight shooter when asked a question got a straight answer. Remember this was my 3rd dealership that day. What was awesome was i felt wanted, I felt that i was reason for their day, felt relaxed no pressure and that's why i bought my truck there. I was so impressed with Chris i have since bought 2 other vehicles from him. On both occasions called him, told him our needs. Chris both times called back within an hour with options. I have been to 4 dealerships before Gateway and this is the only dealership that maintained professionalism the entire time we were there. Sal Eljada is perfect for the job, calm, polite, is not pushy as some places have been. I met AJ, very pleasant personality too. I felt at ease with these people. Then Don, the financing director, gave me the best rate I didn't expect. I have the best deal ever! What I saw what what I got and more. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I bought a 2004 used Chevy Silverado that broke 2 days after I got it home. The reason I am writing this review is that the Salesperson, Sales Manager and Mr. Charles Cooksey the GM all made it clear to me that I was buying a used truck and that there were no warranties. I am impressed - instead of making the usual promises to get my money they told me the truth up front. I am an adult and take full responsibilities for my actions. I bought it even though I was told that it might break as if anybody assumes that a used vehicle is new right? If you want to deal with folks that are upfront and honest then you need to go see these guys. They will tell it like it is and you decide. I purchased a 2002 Ford Thunderbird November 30,2018. Test drove around 2:00 pm. Left dealership after 4:00 pm. I live in Gordonville,Texas. Before arriving home I turned my lights on only to discover i did not have dash lights. Could not see ( speedometer, tachometer, fuel, and temperature gauges. I find this an safety issue. November 30th was on Friday. I called Gateway Buick GMC on Monday December 3rd. I did not get a response till 8:58 am till December 24,2018 just to be told the dealership would not do anything about it. Best Dealership In Dallas, I spent a long time investigating prices between all of the dealerships in the Metroplex. Gateway is by far the most straight forward car buying process I've ever experienced. From the Internet Manager "Stewart" to My Salesperson "Robbie" this was one of friendliest places I've ever been to and made the deal all that much better. We wanted a 2013 loaded white Jeep Cherokee and could not find one in our city. We started looking in the Dallas area and found just what we had been looking for at Gateway Buick- GMC. We looked at all the posted pictures of the car and fell in love, so we started the process of buying it. I had never bought a vech over the internet and was a little scared, but everyone in the dealership made it so easy. I recently purchased a pickup from Gateway and got a great deal. They gave me an excellent trade in on my vehicle and bottom dollar on my truck. I read another review that said she had to give a lot of credit information up front but my experience was just the opposite. Once I found my truck and we agreed on price, only then, did I give them my credit information. Also, I found out that they are family owned and operated, not a big chain store looking to make a buck. Truly glad I stopped and shopped here. BTW, it's a bright red GMC Texas Edition truck. First let me say that I shopped for my Enclave for a year before purchasing. I was also careful about who I do business with. I was very impressed with the customer service and service dept. at Gateway. Their kindness was heartfelt and they handled all my needs quickly. I recently had a minor fender bender, and returned to the Dealership where Julian made sure I never missed a beat until my repairs were complete and changed my oil without me even telling them to. I traded in my old Tahoe and got a brand new Acadia at Gateway this week. My husband is in the military and they gave us multiple discounts including military pricing on the vehicle, USAA member discount, and new car rebates. They didn't have the exact model we wanted on the lot, so they sent someone to Greenville to get it for us and we went home with it that day. I have been in there when it is absolutely crazy busy and when it has been very slow, and every time they have always treated me with respect and fairness. Definitely going to be taking my Lacrosse here from now on! I went in to have a recall fixed on my headlights but when I got my car back, it had been washed, vacuumed, the tires all filled and annoying low tire light fixed. I swear the gas had been topped off too! I was not far from full but it was way over the full line now. (Maybe an illusion) But either way, I left feeling like I mattered and everyone who was working there kept greeting either other which was nice to see.
