He was the only kid on the track and the track operator took an immense amount time patiently trying to show my son how to drive the kart. Ultimately we weren't successful but I've got to applaud the efforts made. We instead made our way to the main go kart track where I drove my son around in a two seat kart. There were two children running the cash register, not real helpful. The mini golf course is well kept and more challenging than it looks. The little kid go karts are so slow they aren't worth the $. The adult go karts are also slower than other places we've been but not terrible. We didn't play the arcade games. read more

I come here for the driving range, it's decent and the price is reasonable. The range itself is a little tired, but it's the closest one in the area and a whole lot less expensive than a Top Golf. I've noticed they have some other activities that are family related and look like fun. I may try some other things in the warm weather. read more

Gateway Fun Park is a great local business. We usually play mini-golf. I love that they have landscaped so thoughtfully with pollinator friendly plants, and both courses are really whimsical and well designed. At this point there are lots of mature trees so on hot days there is plenty of shade. The young people who work here are very helpful and friendly. I love that Gateway gives back by supporting BVSD's Trip Tracker program, which allows kids to earn reward bucks for walking, biking, and carpooling to school. read more

Today we visited and there was no social distancing and people with no masks EVERYWHERE. The staff was doing nothing to solve this problem. It was very a unsafe and disappointing experience for my family. The go-kart line was packed like sardines, with only 2 doubles running, so if you were waiting for a double, you had a 30+ minute wait in that unsafe crowd. Even an employee who was raking the mini golf course wasn't wearing a mask. Come on Gateway, get with the program. You have a great opportunity for safe outdoor family entertainment if you would follow CDPHE guidelines. read more

If you are looking for some old-fashioned, good-ole family fun, then check this spot out! That being said, some of the attractions are a touch pricey, so prepare to take a wallet hit especially if you are in a large group. For my visit I first started with a couple of rounds of go-karting where each round was about 3-4 laps around the track. As I sat in the well-used kart surrounded by the smell of gas and roar of engines, adrenaline filled my veins. After a kind of anti-climatic start, I was in it to win it. Unfortunately my kart was not. Tip, ask the attendant what the fastest car is! For our trip it was #16, #22, and #11. As for the course, it was a nice challenge filled with plenty of fast turns and twists! Beware that the dirt of the track does fly up a bit, so wear sunglasses! Next stop was the windmill course for mini-golf. For the most part the course was well-kept with the exception of a few loose walls and duct taped mushrooms. The holes themselves are not extremely challenging so it might not be worth the price. That being said, you can play the same course as many times as you like as long as you don't exit the course, so maybe you can add some human-made challenges. Finally, we tried out the batting cages. Price wise it wasn't bad at all! You get 20 pitches for $2 essentially. They have both softball and baseball ranging from slow to very fast. They do supply helmets and bats, but I'm sure you can bring your own. Helmets are only required for the fast and very fast cages. I tried the slow pitch softball to warm up, then added a degree of challenge by moving up to slow baseball. Then on a whim I tried very fast baseball and that was borderline terrifying! Definitely not for the faint of heart but fun nonetheless! Overall a really solid place with plenty to do! read more

Nice and well kept mini golf courses! That part was great, lots of pretty setups and it was kid-friendly course! It didn't look like the go carts were running and about half the games in the arcade were out of tickets so we wasted a lot of coins which bummed out my kiddos! Gateway Park didn't disappoint when we were in need of playing some mini golf. The 2 courses are pretty fun, challenging, and well-maintained. I can't tell you how much I hate when there's a random pinch on the green or some other form of wear and tear that sends the ball in the complete opposite direction you were aiming for it to go. I've had the pleasure of visiting this establishment on multiple occasions. Plenty of parking and just a short drive from downtown Boulder which is a plus. My first visit was with my Dad where we enjoyed the driving range. I really appreciated the automated machine where we retrieved the golf balls (note to the wise: be sure the basket is under where the golf balls are spit out). Many choices of drivers and irons if you do not bring your own clubs. Mini golf was the big draw on the other visits. Never over crowded and open both day and night. I love coming here with my kids. There are lots of games to play inside (or watch if they're not old enough) and the mini golf and go-karts round it all out to be an overall fantastic place to spend an afternoon. The prizes are decent, the food is what you'd expect from a fun park, and the staff are always VERY friendly and helpful, no matter how crazy it is inside. Another fun treat is that Gateway plays host to different events throughout the year with food trucks and a big volleyball court, so we've had lots of great memories here. It's fantastic to have a place like this so close by, and even if you're driving it'll probably still be worth it. read more

Solid option, definitely a cut above the regional/municipal versions of these sorts of places. Nicely, slightly out of the way. The golf course is a titch worn-in, but nicely so (mostly). We were there on a friday afternoon and a passing rain shower was dodged under the trees, so all the tree litter on the "greens" could be tolerated ;) Very low key staff, we bounced around a bit on the course as it wasn't crowded and enjoyed ourselves for an hour or so. The pricing structure is nicely calibrated so you can choose as much or as little as you like. The arcade is weirdly slanted towards carnival-type/claw games or TV shows, but maybe that's a thing? Only demerit is I bought one token for the batting cages and they gave me the helmet (not so sure on the cleanliness of that item) and a chunky bat, but when I got out there and dropped the token in, nothing happened. A staffer strolled over and let me know they were closed due to the rain. Not a big deal, as the token was $2, but a little coordination on that variable would have been good. The staff at Gateway went above and beyond today. Unfortunately I didn't get any names of the staff but one associate took the time to help my younger daughter learn how to drive the kiddie go-carts and was super sweet. Later, my older daughter took a softball to the fingers in the batting cages and two staff members (one of them being the woman who helped my younger daughter earlier) swiftly came out with a bag of ice and paper towels and checked on her and asked if we needed anything. I felt they went above and beyond and were so caring. They were also all wearing masks and seemed to be taking COVID precautions seriously. This place has the most bizarre mini golf ever. You know the little maps at the beginning of each hole that are supposed to show where the rocks and bumps and, I don't know, plastic buildings, are? They're always wrong. You know why? Because ANYONE CAN PICK UP THE GOLF COURSE PROPS AND BARRIERS AND MOVE THEM. And they do! So you never know whether you're going to get an impossible course with a concrete wall right in front of the tee-off spot or a clear flat shot straight to the hole. But the one thing you can be sure of is that it will be boring. The point of mini golf is to have rotating holes and retracting bridges and big plastic dudes with opening and closing mouths. It should have slamming 'barn' doors and elevators that take your ball to heretofore unknown levels and waterfalls that wash your ball into a slot that says '1 Penalty Stroke''. Mini golf should be as cheesy and insane as possible. This place's isn't. Its most exciting course has a slight side-to-side slope and a net that keeps your ball from falling into the water. What's the point in trying to be good if your ball can't even fall into the water? And yes, I know that negatively reviewing a fun park is like kicking a baby. Sorry. read more

Nice miniature golf courses here located on the north side of Boulder. The courses add variety and complexity and let us not forget fun for a medium skilled putt putter. Be careful not to knock your ball off on certain parts of the course into the water because you may have to dive in after it. There are screens to protect the ball from going in but if it hits just right and bounces then your feet may have to get wet! There other attractions here too like batting cages, Go Carts and inside games. A nice summertime distraction and reignites my passion for miniature golf! read more

Gateway Park is indeed a great and fun place to be. They've got go-karts, mini-golf, but my favorite: the batting cages. This place will restore some youth, or at least make you even more envious of the youth! Downside (and this is a critique about Boulder in general): They had the worst haunted house ever at this place. This review is strictly concerning the driving range at the park: The driving range provides affordable balls ($4.00 for a small bucket of 50 balls from a vending machine outside, or $9.00 for a large bucket in the main store) and even clubs, albeit very tattered and worn, but they get the job done whether you're seeking to relieve some stress or you're simply acting on an impulse with your travel companion on the way back into Boulder. Upon arriving in the parking lot, I ventured up to the driving range, a separate piece of land adjacent to the mini-golf course and batting cages, with no plan of action - simply hoping to hit some balls. Four dollars and a few minutes later, I was swinging away like a madman. Easy and relaxing way to have some fun. Will be back again, with better form. Subtracting star for general upkeep of the range. I've been to others that have been in far better condition. read more

What a fun place! We stumbled upon this center when looking for a diversion while our motorcycle was in the shop down the road. There are two miniature golf courses, we went for the Windmill course. Not the most difficult, but fun, nonetheless. The decorations are very cute, although they need some paint and patchwork. We also went on the go-carts. We were the only people, so it was like we had our own private course. The carts went well and handled great. They also have batting cages, which we did not partake in. Inside, there is a small arcade. It's a little bit of a cramped space, but still okay to have fun. I went straight for the skee-ball - which is always my favorite. The staff was very friendly and informed. The bathrooms were clean, which surprised me since kids were running in and out, wet from the mist spray outside. Overall, a fun place that we'll probably return to in the future. read more

Compared to other places I've been like Gateway Park, the prices here are really reasonable for the quality of the place. Service was great. Upon returning our golf balls after our 18-holes, we won a free game! We won enough tickets at ski-ball to get some toostie rolls & sour patch kids. Overall, a great experience. I went here with my two boys and my best friend for a round of mini golf. We had a very nice time! The course was not as expensive as some other places I have been and the course was well maintained. I can't speak for the other attractions because we only played golf. I do wish I would have known that there are two courses. I didn't realize that until the end, the one which we didn't play has a giant purple gorilla and my younger son was disappointed we didn't play that one. This place is quite charming and the owners who actually RUN the joint are the nicest people you may ever meet.
