If you have mice in your apartment, do not bother with a standard exterminator. Putting down poison and traps isn't terribly effective and in some cases, doesn't work at all. It also isn't a long-term solution to your mouse problem. Gateway will seal every potential entry point in your apartment - in ours they sealed our baseboard heating pipes with metal sheeting, sealed with metal where the gas line was coming in behind the stove and pulled out our dishwasher to seal the water line with metal. They found holes that I never could have found or accessed on my own, and sealed them up. Many thanks and much respect to Jay! Then, enters Jay who is one of the loveliest and courteous human beings you will meet. His inspection is top notch and he welcomes all the questions you may have about causes and solutions intended to be long term. In my case, I was advised to realize some plumbing repairs to address entry points and then he would be able to address primary as well as secondary points for the purposes of rodent proofing. Yes- rodent proofing. This is to say, anybody can put poison but the placement may be counterproductive given you need to know where the evidence including trail /grease marks leads. I should know as I placed a highly rated peanut butter poison purchased online which then provided incentives for mice to form a nest in my sofa coach which created a devastating hygiene issue. On Tuesday I had an inspection done by a very popular commercial exterminating company. The guy was at my home all of five minutes and stated he couldn't find anything. I asked for a letter of inspection. He told me he couldn't do it, but he could give me a quote for $750 to exterminate the place. I called Gateway and spoke to a gentleman named J. He gave me an inspection price ( which was very affordable), and I made my appointment for July 3, 2015. They arrived early which was great, and they did a very thorough inspection. Reliable, efficient, honest. I had a flea problem and had a couple of exterminators over and the only thing they did was to steal my money. The first one charged me for two treatments and never came back a second time. Of course the fleas DID come back, because you have to exterminate at least two times to break the cycle. The second one used a chemical not appropriate to kill fleas. Gateway came FOUR times, until they were eliminated. I highly recommend it! read more

Jay and his team at Gateway are wonderful. They came on time, were thorough and knowledgeable. We called for a mouse issue we just couldn't fix after paying 2 other exterminators to come. Jay saw areas where the previous guys didn't do a great job and found places the mice were entering that we didn't even know about. I have been using Gateway Pest Mgmt for several years now for multiple Spring earwigs (a garden bug) which find their way into the house. I always ask for Jay. He is superbly knowledgeable and SO nice and kind to deal with. I have an insect phobia, and he always calms me down. He really gets to the root of the problem, doesn't just do a surface job. Anytime I call a new tradesman, whether it's to take my car in, or to call a plumber, or in this case deal with pests: I'm always worried that I'll be ripped off, because it has happened so many times. I've used Gateway a few times, and am happy to have found a reliable, honest and with great customer service that I can depend on. Something that sadly is quite rare in this World. I feel lucky and have peace of mind when they send Jay. He is so pleasant, and worth every penny. We called them in for a mice problem a few seasons ago, during the fall. A family of mice moved into our house. He walked me through the house, and educated me on how mice can get in, and where they usually make their nest. Rather than dealing with traps etc, which I feel are inhumane. The best thing to do is to rodent proof your house during the season when they are shopping for a winter home. Jay rodent proofed my house. Since that time a few years ago, I have found NO NEW evidence of mice. But we still have a regular ant problem, and probably will for years to come, because we built our house on top of ant farm! I called them last night and left a message after hours, and I was going to call them first thing when they opened, but they beat me to it, because they are so efficient. They sent someone literally within the hour. I was nervous we had termites when I saw something that looked like a termite, but it turned out to be some sort of flying ant. Jay gave us great peace of mind. In the Spring, we'll use them to do a full ant treatment.
