So my car has a water pump issue. I bring it to gateway and have it fixed. A day after my wife hears banging around inside the engine area or underneath. Two days later my car wont even start. I open the hood and find that they have left tools inside my vehicle. I call upset and they offer to tow my vehicle. Now, they are telling me I have an electrical issue and that it is going to cost $500 just for them to LOOK at it. Wow. I tell them I have never had electrical issues before I found their tools in my car. I try stressing that I lierally just gave them $700 to repair something and less than two days after picking it up my car wont start. I call the corporate office and try talking to the regional manager and she acts like the probability of it being something they did is astronomically low. I try to reassure here that there was no issue like this previously. So she tells me to get it in writing that from a dealer mechanic that leaving a tool under the hood can damage the vehicle and they would look into it after that. They 100% messed up my car. I ask them what would stop them from just denying that it was them if it really was them, and the guy just goes, sir we are honest. Yeah. Ok. I used to work at gateway. Honest? Bull. They are there to rack up them dollars and NOTHING else. They teach people that they can make up prices on ordered parts, but usually just charge double what they pay. Then on top of that they make up the price of things like the "SHOP FEE". Crooks. Absolute crooks. They damaged my car, and they aren't going to do anything about it. I`m FURIOUS. read more

I called to get an oil change at 10:30am. I receive a text saying my car is ready at 12:30pm. I pick my car up and the engine light is on as well as my traction and cruise and I was unable to turn it off. I take it back immediately and ask to fix whatever they did to my car. Andy, the assistant manager, has zero customer service and does not care about what I had going on. I come back at 3pm and the car is still sitting in the same spot. untouched. I'm more than frustrated because I am to move states in less than 48 hours and I don't have transportation. I am 18 years old and these guys took advantage of my service and I will never come back to Gateway ever again. No human deserves this treatment from a local car shop. read more

I came in for an oil change with a company vehicle and was told it would be tomorrow that I would have to leave my car over night, so I had to contact someone to come get me. While I'm waiting a lady brings her car in and they tell her it would be tomorrow she asks to speak to a specific employee in the back he comes out and then they tell her they can get her car done in an hour or 2!! This is very unprofessional and disrespectful my time is just as important as everyone else's but for them to work in someone because they know them and for me to have to wait 24 hours with my company vehicle, my company that spends thousands of dollars with gateway every year for years. Gateway Tire in Hernando, MS is a complete and total joke!! You can be the first one to walk through the door when they open just to get an oil change and they immediately tell that it's going to be SIX hours before they can get it back. They replaced struts on my car a couple months ago and one of mine has had a 'knocking' noise every since. So I bring it back for them to look at (first chance because I work and haven't been able to get back in) and they immediately tell me that they can't guarantee that they can even get my car looked at. Mind you, I'm the SECOND person to walk thru the door!! And I see mechanics just standing around - yet they aren't sure they can get my car looked at. And the guy is constantly (and rudel) telling everyone that walks thru the door that they close at 12:30pm. Don't waste your time coming here. It's poor service, they talk to women like they are stupid and don't know what they are talking about. They don't care if your vehicle sits here for DAYS! As if everyone has 2 or 3 extra vehicles at their disposal. This place is TERRIBLE!!! read more

Putting this review here also since gateway keeps taking down the google one. Went in on a Saturday to have my tires rotated and have a leak checked in my passenger rear tire. being Saturday its first come first serve so they said that it would be a 4 hour wait, i had nothing else planned so this was okay for me. after 5 hours my truck was in the shop for a total of 12 minutes which they rotated the tires and said that they replaced the valve stem in the leaking tire. funny, when i was working in a shop, my valve stems are apart of the TPMS which means both would need to be replaced, and would take a whole lot more than 12 minutes to get all that done. thanks for lying straight to my face and wasting both of our time. Never coming back. UPDATE: So since my TPMS still showed that the passenger rear was still leaking i borrowed my father TPMS tool to re-sync them, thinking "well maybe they forgot to do that after rotating them", as they should do. After I finished re-syncing them, lo and behold that it still showed the passenger rear being the leaking one. So not only did they lie to me about the leak and replacing the valve stem, they NEVER rotated the tires. So thanks Hernando gateway for wasting the majority of a Saturday for me, dicking around. nothing but a bunch of lazy workers there. read more

We have all heard the Gateway Tire jingle, but if not, let me refresh your memory. "At Gateway Tire, we go the distance. We go the distance for you." "Going the distance for you" must not include calling the company whom I have a road hazard warranty through. The road hazard warranty company in question RECOMMENDED that I have the work done at Gateway. Gateway refused to entertain the idea of calling the warranty company. Of course, I could have paid out of pocket and waiting 5 - 7 business days to receive a reimbursement check, but why would I come out of pocket when the warranty company said that I shouldn't have to do that. The company told me that Gateway would have received an electronic payment in 1 hour if they would have called. So here I am, waiting for my tire to be repaired at another service center who were willing to make a phone call. read more

Today I had work done here. I bought a set of tires and had them installed. I asked the sale rep. "Andy" to ask the mechanic to look at my brakes and bearings. I knew I had a warped brake rotor. I received a phone call shortly after and the sales rep said to me it would be $988. I asked just to make sure that it would be $988 for everything? The rep said yes. I instructed him to go ahead and do the work. When I arrived to pick up my vechile Andy informed me that it would be $1700!! Of course I was a bit SURPRISED by this knowledge. We agreed that on the phone the price he had given me was $988 total not on top of the price of the tires. He actually said out loud to me " I was wondering if you understood that." Anyway, he goes to consult with his manager "Robert" whom didn't feel like it was an important enough issue to handle face to face. I was given the choice to pay or they can uninstall any new equipment. Since I wasn't planning to pay 1700 bucks in costs I obviously couldn't cover it. Eventually they knocked some money off in an attempt to square things up to a number that completely tapped me out. At this point I couldn't argue. I was due at work. Triple check that your sale rep is on the same page with you. read more

Service seems good so far, but they advertise Tuesdays in Oct as BCA 20% discount for ladies and then they didn't give it on my service. I didn't notice until I got home and they wouldn't give me credit when I called them about it saying you have to mention you want it when you request the service. The sign was there at the counter as well as being on tv so how could they not give the discount to a woman who makes time to wait on a busy Tuesday in Oct. to get it. I am mad and won't be returning to them nor recommending them to anyone else! read more

When I left the hotel, one of my tires was down to 15 PSI. I went to Gateway to have them check it out. They said they were busy and it would be about 1 1/2 before they could get to it. In less than an hour, they had it fixed (screw in the tire causing a slow leak). Everyone was great and the service was quick. Then I was pleasantly surprised that there was no charge. read more

They were awesome! I had a slow leak in one of my rear tires and I dropped it off on a Saturday morning when they looked super busy. My husband picked me up and I asked them if I could just run errands and they could call me and tell me what the damage was and how much it would cost. They said sure, no problem. Less than an hour later they called to say it was done. I had picked up a nail and they repaired the damage and pumped it up, no charge. I was very impressed with their kindness, speed and professionalism. I will definitely be taking my cars there now for all our maintenance and tire needs. read more

I have taken my car in several times for an oil change and tire rotation. While the people have been nice and they have performed the services in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they usually are, the one thing that irks me is that they always let the air out of my tires. I like to keep them around 42psi for increased gas mileage, better ride, better handling, etc. They always let it out to 32psi. I am not sure where this myth comes in, but I think it has to do with a line in the Andy Griffith Show when Andy tells Aunt Bee to keep her tires at 32. I have asked Gateway to put in 42 and they even put it on the work order, but inevitably, I get home and I have to add 10psi to each tire. If they would just do what I ask, I would gladly give them 5 stars. I will need some new tires at some point in the future and would like to buy them from Gateway, so my suggestion would be to treat your customers right (follow instructions), price your products and services fairly, and do the work in a reasonable amount of time. I don't think that is too much to ask. read more
