This is a must stop off the 101 Fwy exactly 108 miles north of Santa Barbara and 202 miles northwest of Beverly Hills. You get a beautiful, clean, very well organized store with fresh and local( love that) organic produce and products. A really nice variety of healthy snacks, protein bars and juices. The premade sandwiches are extraordinary- we had the Veggie and the balance and the taste was phenomenal- no extra mustard or mayonnaise needed. The vegan salad with fried tofu and this divine( I forgot the name) and deadly dressing was fantastic. The quality of the ginger and the lemons bursting with juice was top notch. The manager Robin was stellar. She showed us the sandwich section , the juices; put everything in a nice box for us to go enjoy outside in their patio in the 74 degree sunshine as happy faces and healthy folks walked by. This has become my go-to market. The selection has become rather reliable and the prices are surprisingly affordable. Many times, the items I purchase at Gather are less expensive than at Vons. - I really like that they have a loyalty program. Sometimes, they will email you a coupon and you can also accumulate points. They always offer a box at checkout which is environmentally friendly and plastic free. - I think the produce area does a great job of avoiding access packaging. They offer compostable bags which is great for the environment. I would love to see more of the prepackaged items on the shelves in non-plastic containers. I recently purchased a plant-based eggnog. Since it was the only one offered, I had to buy the brand in plastic jugs and would prefer paper/cardboard (like the hemp mylk). read more

Clean, wonderful organic selection, fairly priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be my go to market.

It's got natural and organic foods, fantastic. But in no way can it be compared to a Whole Foods, Sprouts, Lazy Acres, and the like. It's mini-everything in every way. With that said, the greater area (Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero) doesn't have the aforementioned or any other choice. The good: ========= * Bright and clean * A nice assortment, but mostly canned/shelf items * Nice and helpful staff * Bulk bins (but $$$) The not-so: ========== * They don't offer a hot food bar, sandwiches, or salads * They don't offer a butcher counter * The prices are enormous * Fresh herbs are packaged, not loose * Local premium meats are all frozen * Produce may be local, but go to a farmers market instead I won't be back read more

Gather is in a super clean shopping center at the North Eastside of the city. If you want NonGMO and Organic, this is the place! Inside everything is super clean and almost feels like you have your own private shopping experience. Produce is local and I notice the freezer section has local meats. It never fails, when I walk down the aisles, I always am asked if I'm finding everything, at least once. Non-GMO, Organic, local, super clean, and always helpful. Other than the amount of items and it being a little steep, what else could you ask for?! read more

I am visiting in Templeton and was hoping I could come across an organic market. I was delighted to find Gather! It had all my normal likes plus more. The product line is complete, down to cleaning products. There were some good sale prices too. The fresh food section was larger than I would have expected. Personnel very friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough good things about this market. It's clean and spacious, always well stocked, the owners and staff are wonderful. I love that the owners try to find local organic options for as many products as they can. Some of the products I buy regularly were even cheaper at Gather than they were at Valley Fresh Market. Went in for the first time as a vegan looking for some yummy premade food and was disappointed to only find premade avocado and hummus sandwiches for $14. Boring. Please consider adding some vegan meat sandwiches. They are a heartier and give you more for the price. read more

Love love this store. Shopped here for the first time on 8/8/2025 after recently moving from the Bay Area to Paso Robles. High quality items and organized nicely and intelligently. The staff is professional, welcoming and friendly. We especially appreciate the well curated Asian ingredients and condiments which were easy to find in San Francisco. Also love that Gather has Alec's ice cream (the best) and Bread Bike items on certain days. Lots of gluten free and organic items. The young lady/check out staff was kind and attentive. What a great find in the small community of Atascadero. It's a smaller natural foods market, but really well and thoughtfully stocked. We found the produce we needed, it was super fresh. I also found a couple things that even my very large food co-op at home doesn't carry. Everyone I talked with was friendly and helpful. We love to camp in Morro Bay, so this is the perfect stop on our way out to the coast. read more

Great service and good fresh choices! Remarkably they have a vegan soft oatmeal cookie which is scrumptious. And I'm not a vegan!!! If you have a question they'll find the person who can answer it for you, and they're very knowledgeable. It's light and airy, and we'll stocked. Not too much stock in the produce section so it doesn't get old but quite a bit of variety. Good planning on the layout and a nice place to shop!!! You can also sign up and have your purchases listed online so you can look up your receipts! Great idea. They have boxes that they can put your items in so they're easy to carry! I'm so excited for this addition to town! While we have an abundance of places to shop for food, many of them are discount focused. Discount grocery stores have their place, but organic food and unique items aren't really their forte. We went in today on their third day open. While it's small and may not look like what you're used to, there's some good stuff in there and they use their space well. I saw lots of great Bay Area brands like Three Twins, Amy's Kitchen, Straus, and my favorite milk of all time Clover Sonoma. (Owners, if you read this can I special order Clover?!). If you're expecting Lays chips and General Mills cereal, this probably isn't your jam. But if Muir Glen, Amy's, Annie's Organic, take and bake sourdough, and bulk bins are your style, you'll be stoked! My one caveat for now is stock on milk is running low. I'm guessing it will take time to figure out their numbers, but if they keep offering great brands I'll be happy to wait it out! read more

WOW!!! So many choices. Where do I start. Having just opened, some parts of the shelves are not full, yet in time they will. Organic and Natural. So many wonderful sections. Sandwiches and goodies from Fig at Courtney's House, fresh produce, dairy, frozen ice cream and others, cheeses, meats, cooking for bakers & cooks, pet food, chips, health and beauty, household needs and cleaning, you name it, they probably have it. Atascadero is fortunate to have an almost unknown treasure in its city. This market is unique because of its friendly owner and staff as well as the high quality of items that are sold here. The produce is the freshest and of the highest quality of any market in North SLO County. It also sells items in bulk if you are concerned about eating healthy nutritious food. There is also a large selection of supplements to keep your body healthy and avoid getting sick. One of its main positives is that it is a great place to hang out. It has 3 tables, one of which is handicap accessible as well as a counter with a great view. The entire front of the store has large windows that provide a pleasant ambiance with natural light. I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. PLEASE READ!! On Wednesday July 21 of 2021, I walked into this establishment with my service dog at my side. I had never run into any complications bringing her anywhere, seeing as I need her with me at all times. The owner of the business approached me and had explained that there were no dogs allowed in the store, in which I respected. However, I explained that she is a service dog and was wearing her "Service Dog" vest. I also told her that I am allowed to bring her into any establishment as long as she is on a leash and she does not leave my side. The owner proceeded to ask for specifics about my disability to which I replied that I did not have to disclose personal information nor answer any further questions. She continued to question the validity of my service dog, violently escalating the situation. At this point my brother steps in and explains that I have issues with anxiety, and that my dog is certified to react to my anxiety attacks. Knowing this information, the owner informs us that service dogs that deal with anxiety are exempt from being allowed into any establishment. After repeatedly explaining that I have severe anxiety attacks and this animal is trained to react, the situation continued to spiral and as did my symptoms. After leaving the store, the owner prolonged the heat of the situation and continued to disrespect me and my mental disability. I found myself unable to drive myself home as a result of this futile and outright disreputable altercation. My concern goes out to future customers with disabilities who may be subject to this same disrespectful and unprofessional dispute. The owner of this establishment is clearly not aware of the federal laws pertaining service animals and if you are like me and are trying to contribute to small business vs. big chain stores, stay away from this business and go to Trader Joe's instead. The amount of inconsideration displayed by this establishment is absolutely disgusting and there will absolutely be consequences to this kind of discrimination. read more

My kids have numerous food allergies and now I can go here to get some of the products they need instead of trolling the internet. They need items you can't get at Vons. Great place for Organics. They have a very well and large supply of many organic whole grains that I can no longer get at Sprihts or Whole Foods. Those two Super store have become Snack food stores, packaged and marketed as a healthy alternative. 14- 15 rows of junk food in each of them. Not how it is a Gather in Atascadero. It remains a store for very healthy and organic food choices. Great prices and pleanty of friendly helpful service. Privately and locally owned by the married coue you will see there most visits. A great healthy, local, family friendly Food Market. On two occasions I could not find items, they didn't carry them. They took my email, went online and emailed me what options they had found. Have been shopping here for a few weeks, and find myself on a first-name basis with the cashier and the owner, I find everybody on the staff to be quite helpful oh, I find the inventory to be exactly what it is an organic store. I find it constantly being stocked and the inventory is turning over regularly, and everything I want is here. Yes organic can cost a bit more, and it's worth it.
