This location is in a large shopping center complex. While the outside is a bit underwhelming, the interior is spacious, bright, and comfortable. I ordered the Bacado Omelet since it came with a bit of everything. The omelet was good, filled with bacon, chunks of avocado, cheese, and mixed greens. The Pico de gallo was underwhelming, no onions, and no hint of jalapeno, virtually flavorless. The home fries were cooked through, and tasty. The Million Dollar Bacon was ordered as a share item, and each slice was enjoyed bite by bite. The salty, smokiness of the bacon, with the maple syrup and brown sugar sweetness, and sprinkling of black pepper and cayenne was the perfect salty, sweet treat with a little kick. There was a half hour wait when we got in, mostly because we got there around 10. The staff had everything running as smoothly as possible. Our server was friendly and took care of two minor issues we had at our table without blinking an eye. I'm not sure how often I'll go to First Watch, but it's nice having options for something different and tasty.

However, within 2 hours after coming home, I became feverish and nauseous and spent most of the day in the bathroom with my ricotta pancakes not sticking around for digestion!!! I spent half of the rest of the day in bed with frequent trips to the bathroom! Did they use old ricotta? Old lemon sauce? Bad eggs? It was the only thing I ate all day? Maybe it was something else? But I likely won't be returning to the First Watch in Upper St Clair!

I ended up swapping to a Fat Heads Bumble Berry as the beam me up was too sweet for me. I ordered the Smack and it was very filling, had to get a to go box for the other half. Everything else came out great as well. If you got a hankering for some grilled cheeses, this is the place to be!

From the moment we stepped inside - my brother warned me that this spot is usually understaffed - so we may need to wait a little for a table. No worries. We got comfortable at their low seated waiting couches. I personally could have easily stayed there for the whole duration - and I think my nieces could have as well. We brought out some of their art supplies and they quickly began their masterpieces. About 15-20 minutes later - a staff member said our table was ready. We made our way over to our hightop table - which conveniently also had an elevated booth set-up. It was a nice set-up for young kids, especially ones intent on finishing homemade cards. The Yard even had some crayons and playful coloring placemats for kids to draw on. Score! My brother placed an order for some pretzel sticks, some orders of tomato soup and some grilled cheeses. My nieces had huge grins on their faces as they imagined their upcoming meals. After about 25 minutes or so after our order was taken, - the pretzels came out. They looked and smelled fantastic. They were great for holding over my nieces' growing appetites. My nieces enjoyed them thoroughly. That's when things stalled. We waited for over an hour with no additional food coming out. I noticed that there was another family beside our table with a young baby - that had also been waiting a long time. I could see the concerned looks on their faces - as their table grew restless and hungry. You could tell that they were eager to eat, go home and put their baby to bed. My nieces began to to get antsy and began to whine about how hungry they were. My brother said that we would wait about 15 minutes more and if we had no update or food - we'd ask about the status of it. And so we waited. No one came over to us - so I went to the bar - and asked about the status of the food - explaining that we had three younger children with us, that were beginning to get hangry. The bartender said that one of their chefs had gone home sick earlier in the day - and that they were short-staffed in the kitchen. She said that she would check on our order and let us know its status. She never came back over to us. We waited for about 20 minutes longer. Nobody came over. I totally understand how things can get busy, how places can be understaffed, and that things come up - but I think that The Yard could have handled the situation more proactively. They should have let us know from the very beginning that they were understaffed and that there would be a wait for food. We likely would have gone elsewhere. Since my nieces had to be back home promptly for bed - we ended up paying for the pretzels and my nieces' drinks - and left. My brother explained the situation to their staff before we departed. From my time here - I believe The Yard would be a solid spot for a family friendly meal - but only when they're well staffed. If you come here hungry - I'd recommend confirming with the staff - before you are seated - how long the estimated wait for your table and your food may be. Trust.

This visit to a Primanti's would be our second since living in Pittsburgh over twenty years. The Mt. Lebanon location is easy to find on Washington Rd./Rt. 19 across from the Galleria mall, next to Dunkin. The bar area is bright, and well stocked. The rest of the restaurant casual, and relaxing. The menu is pretty large and offers more than sandwiches to keep everyone happy. I ordered The Original PB Reuben. The light marble rye was soft, and fresh, not overly sour. The pile of corned beef was lean, and very mild flavored. The Cole slaw and fries were piled on and barely fit between the bread. The overall flavor of the Original PB Reuben was good, nothing really distinctly standing out. Our server was friendly and took care of our table and kept everything in order. Our group stopped in around lunch time and the restaurant had a good size crowd but wasn't packed. I'm not the biggest fan of sandwiches, but a stop into Primanti's, especially with people from out of town is a nice way to share a taste of Pittsburgh with them.

The zucchini planks were the star of the show with the spinach artichoke dip the runner up. The Marinara sauce on the crispy zucchini hit the spot. The artichoke dip with a hearty portion with plenty of crispy pitas. The crispiness of the pita made eating the dip that much more enjoyable. The chicken quesadillas were loaded with chicken but the tortilla was soft. Had it been crisp, it very well could have been the star of the show. Pens won in dominating fashion and the Bucos handled their business also. The saloon is a laid back sports bar to kick back with friends or family. Thanks for a rare opportunity to enjoy a beer and meal with my sister and dad! I recommend the Saloon to anyone looking for a good time and a beer while taking in a game or two.
