I drove three hours from Gainesville to see a 2017 Mazda CX-5 here, after calling ahead and asking specific questions. I was told the vehicle was a non-smoker and had no water damage. When we arrived there was an obvious musty odor in the cabin that was never mentioned. I asked directly whether any reconditioning had been done and got a vague answer. I arranged a pre-purchase inspection at a nearby shop. Within ten minutes on the lift the technician showed me extensive rust across the entire underbody, sand in the spare tire compartment, loose wiring in that same compartment, rusted brake rotors, evidence of repaint work, dings on the rear, low and dirty oil, and a filthy air filter consistent with a smoker. His recommendation was not to buy the car. The entire drive back, the salesperson pushed lines like "are you going to let a little surface rust scare you" and "you won't find a better car than this one." I wasted a full day and a hotel night on information I was given over the phone that did not match the vehicle. If you're considering anything from this lot, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I have had nothing but disappointing experiences with this dealership, and my confidence in the quality of its service has been completely lost. Within the first year of purchasing my vehicle, the air conditioning failed. I brought it to this dealership for repairs under warranty. Only a few months later, I had to return because the air conditioning had stopped working again, making it obvious that the original repair was either incomplete or improperly performed. Most recently, my vehicle sustained damage from road debris on the highway. After filing an insurance claim, I brought the vehicle to the dealership for repairs. The dealership kept my vehicle from June 8, 2026, through July 28, 2026--nearly two months. After waiting that long, I expected the repairs to be completed correctly. Instead, I was shocked and extremely disappointed to discover that multiple issues had either been ignored or left unfinished. The rear bumper was not properly repaired and is still missing a reflector. Wax was left on the roof, and the roof appears to have been wet sanded improperly, leaving the paint noticeably uneven with two different shades of black. Most concerning, however, is that a sensor related to the collision/safety system was never repaired. This is the very same sensor I was told had been giving the technicians difficulty while my vehicle was in the shop. For weeks after the one-month mark, every time I called for an update, I was simply told they were waiting on the service department. Approximately two weeks before I was finally notified that my vehicle was ready, I was informed they were still attempting to diagnose and repair this sensor. Despite knowing it was an unresolved issue, they released the vehicle to me without fixing it. Because this sensor remains inoperative, it is causing other vehicle functions to malfunction as well. More importantly, it raises serious safety concerns involving a system designed to help protect occupants. Releasing a vehicle in this condition after nearly two months is completely unacceptable. Throughout this entire process, I remained patient and respectful. I understood that repairs can take time, and I treated everyone professionally. However, when I arrived to pick up my vehicle and discovered the number of unfinished repairs and the condition it was returned in, I was beyond frustrated. I was so upset that I did not even want to leave with the vehicle. Unfortunately, I had my toddler with me and had no other transportation home, leaving me with no practical choice but to accept it. What makes this situation even more unacceptable is that nearly $8,000 was billed to my insurance company, yet the repairs were not completed properly. My insurance company has photographs documenting the vehicle's condition when it was initially inspected, making the discrepancies even more concerning. At this point, I am consulting with my insurance company regarding the incomplete and deficient repairs. Depending on their guidance, I am also considering seeking legal counsel. I believe the manner in which this claim has been handled is unacceptable, and I expect accountability for returning my vehicle in a condition that is both incomplete and potentially unsafe after nearly two months in the dealership's possession. read more

I just had the WORST EXPERIENCE WITH ANY DEALERSHIP! I took my car in, to get an oil change & get a battery light checked. I was told the battery light was not showing anymore so all was good. I went to pick up the car & the light turned on! I went to speak to another service employee who told me to schedule an appt with another dept, which I already had. I then ask if I can drive it home & he says yes. I proceed to drive, not even 1 mile, & the car stops, leaving me stranded! I called them & Scott the supervisor is at lunch! So no one can help me! SERIOUSLY! Tammy the customer service agent suggest I tow it, I ask her who will pay for that & she says me. I say absolutely not, so I sit & wait for Scott to call me back. After 15 mins of waiting, I call my husband who has to get off from work to come jump the car. Scott calls me 1 hr later & has nothing but excuses for me! I asked for a refund on my oil change which is the least they can do & he says no. I am never taking any of my vehicles back here. Still in the preliminary stages of trying to sort this out, but long story short, I brought my low-mileage Jeep Wrangler (purchased at Gator) in for service, check engine light was on and engine was running rough. So, $1800 and five trips later, Jeep still had check engine light and was still running rough. Was told to "drive it and it would clear up." Service manager Scott Davis offered to investigate further for an additional $4200. I am currently having the vehicle evaluated for service performed and continuing issue. Be careful at the Gator Jeep dealership service center, their prices are inflated, and in my case, the problem went unresolved, though I paid in good faith. read more

When we moved to the community with a Chrysler product that has a warranty recall they refused to handle it. Some years later, thinking this was a fluke, we decided to purchase a vehicle there. Unfortunately our feelings that the recall issue was some one off occurrence quickly dissipated when the sales people literally forget you the next day after the purchase when we had an issue. During the height of Covid the service manager failed to even try to take basic safety precautions. To their credit, they did expeditiously make a warranty covered body work repair; and the vehicle we did buy there has lasted almost 9 years with few problems. Stellantis has enough issues of its own, but Gator truly needs to step up and really work on positive customer relations. read more

Wouldn't be caught dead returning for service. Oil change and new tires. Couldn't even set the tire pressures to correct specifications. Driving home and my truck sounded funny. Decided to check the oil level when I got home and found it was two quarts overfilled and dirty. Looked under the vehicle and found the oil filter had been replaced but the drain plug was never removed. I used to work in the automotive industry and I know the problems that can occur with too much oil. Needless to say I had to take it back the next day to have the oil service done correct and lo and behold, I never received the customer satisfaction call or email...... wonder why read more

This is a buyer beware post. I purchased a 2024 RAM 2500 from Gator. It was not until 5 days later when I had a tonneau cover installed that SEVERE DAMAGE was pointed out in the bed. Large dent int the back of the bed and the entire right side of bed bowed out as if a "large tree" had been felled. I emailed the owner Mr. Kelly and he ghosted me. I chose this dealer as the salesman Kelvin was nice. Nice means nothing! Why was this damage not disclosed? Why was nothing done to remedy this fraud? I will certainly disclose this damage when I sell the truck - which is making a terrible grinding nose in the right front. Shame on this dealership! STEER CLEAR OF GATOR CHRYSLER DODGE! They kept adding them on to the out the door write-up up.They would not move off the asking price of the truck, even after showing them car gurus has the truck as High Priced! Ended up buying a truck from gator that I did not want at first. They initially said the loan couldn't go through as they stuck me in a Dodge ram that was $3000 more than the initial vehicle I drive and really did want. I've had five problems with it within the first month to include the air suspension that I complained about after 2 weeks of purchasing the vehicle. as you might imagine this repair cost is $6,300. The air suspension is not something that goes out right away I believe that they knew that when I bought it. when I initially called to inform them of this issue, I was told that they would take care of me until I brought it in and this was not the case. I can't believe that they later said sorry can't help you, You already paid for the vehicle. I don't suggest anyone purchased a vehicle from them and if you do you better expect there might be underlying conditions or issues with the vehicle so be ready to come out of pocket. read more

went in with Jeep purchased three months prior from them to trade because the vehicle didn't fit me. I was shopping with other dealers so I needed more info to compare and make a decision on where to trade and get a different car. Young man who helped me, didn't show me cars in the price range I asked for, he showed me cars in a higher range but didn't give me the price, because "we can make you an excellent deal". Wouldn't give me a trade in dollar up front for the same reason. He wanted me to find a car I liked and they would go from there. After looking at his "deal", the car was over $6k more than I wanted to spend and told me I wouldn't like their cars in my price range which was around $20K! Also he lied to me about the Warranty left on the vehicle, which there wasn't. And when they talk about price, trade and give you the bottom line, they didn't include their dealer fee, $899 plus cost for tag trade like that $1000 didn't matter. He kept telling me how people liked him and that he had been doing this for years (I'm sorry, if people have to tell you that it's like they are trying to convince you too). Finally, he took my car key to get mileage and vin #, took the key off my keyring and put the key up with the floor manager (closer). I had to ask several times for my key, but also had to then listen to the closer before I could get my key. Terrible way the end this experience. read more

The 4 week backlog for appointments is crazy. I guess that's just how it is now. Knowing in advance is helpful. Best plan is to drop your car off and come back later. I was able to drop my car off, walk to where I work and then walked back after my shift was over. Much better than waiting and hoping they're complete by a certain time. My wife and I bought our hybrid, electric vehicle (EV) for the benefits of the electric capabilities; however, we were not able to benefit from these capabilities since October! I explained to the unprofessional woman at the customer service desk that I lived right across the river from the Gator Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep dealership, in an attempt to explain that we only use the Jeep for the electric feature for short commute distances, but the woman replied and gestured that she lives right across there, totally disregarding my meaning. I was telling the woman that I come from a different world, and she cut me off saying and gesturing that we all come for the same world. I completed my comment by saying that I come from a different world where a customer leaves the dealership satisfied. I had to ask to talk to the manager. Then she asked me to follow her in an attempt to remove me from the proximity of other customers, but I didn't follow her. I told her to have the manager speak with me there at the manager's office. Then that is another story. I found this by myself!!!! Had broken weather stripping on door. Took a month to get appointment. Came in at 8:30am to wait 15 minutes for Richard (service tech) to finish breakfast. He then told me that he didnt know if they had the parts in stock even though i told them exactly what was wrong. He said he would check with service and if parts weren't in stock he would let me know right away so i could get out of there. After 90 minutes i went outside to find him. He told me he hadn't even checked yet because he was busy and was the only one there. He finally asked and of course the parts weren't in stock so i waited 90 minutes for nothing. I got a recall notice and it was again 4 weeks for an appointment. As luck would have it i got Richard again and he took 15 minutes to finish his breakfast before coming over to me. He told me that the recall required an inspection and if nothing was wrong i would be out in 10 minutes. He said if there was something wrong they would have to order the parts and i would have to come back. I asked if he could do an oil change and tire rotation. He said the car would be ready in an hour and he would call. My girlfriend had driven up with me because the person who made the appointment told it would take 3 to 4 hours. We went shopping and went back to the dealer after 2 hours because we did not get a call from Richard. I was surprised to see my car finished and sitting outside. It took Richard another 30 minutes to check me out and he was rude and told me again he was busy and the only person there. I asked to speak to a service manager but the woman at the counter said he wasn't in on Saturday. When i got the jeep survey i asked for a manager to call me. Scott, the service manager called me and when i tried to tell him what happened, he cut me off and said Richard was one of his best service people and he didn't believe me. He then told me to find another dealership because they didn't want my business because i had give them a bad review . So, after showing up for my scheduled appointment- I was told they didn't even have the part. So what was the appointment for? Needed warranty work done and the earliest appointment was 4 weeks out. Explained that the reason for urgency was the headlights not working. Service department stated that I could drop the car off but they would have to have it for a few days to maybe work it in. I asked for a loaner and she stated that they didn't have loaner vehicles. My kid is in Melbourne for college about 600 miles from home. Sent her to Gator to replace a MOPAR car battery that was still under warranty. Service department left her waiting for 40 minutes for the service manager. She called the next day and was told to leave a message but no one returned the call. So I called the service department and asked the manager how he would feel if his 18 year old college kid was getting screwed over by a service department while away at college. Promises where made but not followed thru. I ended up spending the $100 to replace the battery at a local auto parts store. Who knows how much business this dealership has lost by such actions. College parents always ask each other where their kids can take cars for service. Those kids will graduate and buy cars. Those cars will eventually need service. ...SMH! read more

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a dash which delaminated into a wavy mess. Jeep decided to extend the warranty and fix it. Probably to avoid a class action as many people I know had this exact issue with their dash. So in February 2020 I picked Gator to do the repairs as the Vero dealer was terrible. They said it may take up to 9 months to get the replacement dash. Well then Covid hit. It actually took them over 3 years to get the parts! So they finally called and said your part is in. Whoopee! So I make my appointment 9:45 for Friday in May of 2023. The lady said it will take all day! So the wonderful day comes around and I drop off the car expecting it to be ready later that day. No the service writer says, it will take more than one day, Monday it will be ready. So Monday (today) at 1 and no word about my car. So I text Nelson, my service advisor. No response for hours. I call and the operator says I will put you through to Nelson. No Nelson, so I leave a voicemail. Then nothing for 2 more hours. So I call again, and Tammy says I will page Nelson. 7 minutes later and I hang up without speaking to anyone. So I call Tammy back she says I will put you through to our Service Manager. He doesn't answer so another message left with him. By now it is 5:30 and no status about my car. About 5:45 the manager calls me back and says Nelson was out sick so he wasn't here. So why did Tammy keep putting me through to someone out for the day! Doesn't she know by 4:00 Nelson is out sick? Worse of all, the service manager tells me my car sat for 2 days and still no one has even started to work on it! Oh the only person who can work on it had trouble with the one he was working on and mine should start next! Wow what incompetency!
