Gatorback delivered 3 bundles of firewood last year to my home (condo) in Concord. Turned out to be way more than I could use all season. I returned one bundle and was promised a refund, but when they came to get it they told me I would get a credit for a load next season. I called them in early October for my load of firewood only to be told they no longer sell firewood. I asked for a refund and a month later I'm still waiting for it. Every time I call I get a different excuse. Buyer beware. read more

During one of the last wind storms my security camera caught a tree near my garage moving in a way indicating it was loosening at the root and about to fall. I contacted them. They came out, sent out gave me estemate. The office called next day and scheduled. They came out on time, even early. Cut it down and cleaned up in 3 hours! Looked better after they left than when they came! Polite and hard working. I will definitely be using their service again and recommend them to all! read more

So a few months ago, my neighbor came by and asked for permission to cut a tree down that spanned both our properties. I was not crazy about the idea, but I agreed, as I wanted to be a friendly neighbor, and I could see that the tree could endanger both of our homes. About two weeks later, I came home in the morning to see a truck parked on my flower beds about 14 inches from my front window. I don't remember giving permission to have a huge truck park on my lawn. I expected all work to be done from my neighbor's property. I had no notice of date, no notification that anyone would be parking a multi-ton truck on my property. I would have expected the company would have confirmed the approval to cut the tree from a property owner. I came home, I called the police, the police agreed that this company had no right to come on my property, let alone bring a heavy truck on my flower beds. I documented the event with my drone, and after they left I documented damage to my gutter (minor, I agree, but still should be addressed by the company that did the work (Gatorback Tree Service) -- Also, one of my three Hostas in my front flower beds never grew back this spring. I sent Gatorback Tree Service a bill on June 19th, 2019, for $407.63 to cover the damages to my property. I feel it is modest. I have not heard from this company. It's almost a month. I guess I need to file in small claims court. You'd think a company would care more about their reputation and just send me a check for my damages. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company if you need any tree work. All I asked for was replacement of a length of gutter, paint to match, and the cost of one Hosta from Home Depot. Beware of this company. We received several quotes for my mothers house in willowick. They were the lowest price. They're the lowest price for a reason though. They left cracks in the sidewalk...also on the neighbors sidewalk. There are ruts in the yard and oil in the driveway. They gave us the ol "you signed the contract". Do yourself a favor and go with a reputable company. I'll be sure to share this review everywhere. I shouldn't have to pay to get several blocks of concrete replaced after a "professional" company was paid well to cut down a tree. read more

We got a call in the morning letting us know that Gatorback would be coming out to our home at 1pm. The crew arrived after 2 pm. It was raining through out the day and the crew worked through an actual thunderstorm. We needed limbs from several trees trimmed. The crew continued to work past 6 pm. We kept checking out the windows, thinking they would be cleaning up and come back the next day to finish up. The crew was still working in the dark until after 8pm. The next day I went out to see what the yard looked like after the trees had been trimmed. When I got to the side yard where most of the work was done I was shocked! The bobcat that was used to transport the cut limbs to the trucks had left huge ruts in our yard. Roughly 25 hostas had been ground into the soil, there crowns no longer visible. I had damage to azalea's, weeping red maples, verbena's, hostas, broken branches from a hemlock, a bonsai blue spruce that was stepped on and broken. I has a decorative rock border that ran the full length of the yard in front of the beds. My husband and I had to take a trowel to dig out hundreds of rocks that had been smashed into the soil. All of this damage would not have happened if the crew had left when the sun went down. Who works outside cleaning up a yard in the dark! I called the company that afternoon and told Tracy of all the damage. We also sent pictures of all the damage. She said she would let the owner and Mike(crew leader) of my concerns. The next day 2 guys came out with a leaf blower and rake and cleaned up some the branches that had been missed. We were promised 2 yards to top soil to repair the yard. I have called 3 times now with no response from the owner or Mike. If you value your landscaping do not use this company. They have no desire to correct their damage. I am very sorry we used this company and I will let friends and family know how awful they left my yard. I would never recommend this company. Don't call them. read more

I ended up having the equipment left in my backyard overnight without even being notified. In addition the equipment was left blocking the only haul away option for my tree trunk that was scheduled for pickup by a third party. Also I had to go out and rebuy a part of my fence because the worker did not reattach it properly in addition to hammer marks on the wood. One star because I can not leave less. Called July 21st midmorning, never received a return call. I called on July 22nd evening, they took my information and said someone would get back to me. They got back to me on July 24th to tell me they would send someone and get back to me. I called andeft messages on July 27th and 29th. They emailed me on July 30th to tell me they were booked until the end of December. If they were booked through December, why didn't they just say so when I first called. During a heavy rain/wind storm a maple tree split and half fell across our front lawn. Luckily, we suffered no damage to our property but needed to have the tree completely removed. After doing some research online, I called Gatorback Tree Service and reached the owner, Chris. He said he would be over as soon as he could to have a look and provide an estimate; he arrived within 15 minutes. Chris provided an honest assessment and provided a reasonable quote, and said one of his men would be over to clean up the fallen section that day, and the remaining standing section in a day or two. By noon of that day, the fallen section was completely removed and the yard cleaned up. In two business days, a team of professionals arrived in force with all the necessary equipment and removed the standing section, cleaned up the yard and hauled away the debris in a couple of hours. The stump was ground down the next day. Needless to say, I was impressed. Chris and his team are courteous and responsive. I would recommend them for any tree service you require. read more
