We walked into Gator's and it was surprisingly quiet compared to other locations. We were seated immediately and our server took our order right away. We ordered some wings, fries, pretzel bites, mojo pork tacos, and a tender stack. The pretzel bites were good but the cheese sauce it came with had a milk consistency, so I told the worker who brought the food and he gladly replaced it. My mojo tacos had good flavoring but they were cold. The tender stack was warm and the cheese still needed to be melted. The wings and fries came out hot. The waitress was nice but after taking our initial order we didn't see much of her and it took forever to get refills on drinks. We have been to Gators a few times and the past few times we had been let down. Saw that they had all you can eat wings for 13.99 on Wednesdays. Decided to give this place one last redeeming chance. Our server was Eva, she is attentive so far. We places our food order with our drink order. Tonight there was a large group on the other side of the restaurant with some loud kids, so glad we were sat away from that. This place reverberates sound super bad. Like the ceilings need to be a drop ceiling to help with sound traveling across the entire place and cranking up the music doesn't help, it just makes it more of a sensory nightmare. Wednesday they have miller and coors light specials, $3 pints and $10 pitchers. I ordered a rum drink. The drinks arrived to the table in a timely fashion. We placed our food order at 6:37, food hit the table 20 minutes later. I ordered the all you ca eat boneless wings, my son ordered the tender stack and my hubby ordered the shrimp dinner. Food did come out hot. There was also music Bingo tonight. It's free to play. So tonight was a good visit. Mixed reviews on this place. We have been here a lot over the years and I must say, the quality of service is dropping. The food is priced ok. Quality is on par for this type of restaurant but nothing remarkable. During football season, ONLY the NFL will be shown on EVERY tv, as though this were the only sport on the planet. Even though half their client base on that Sunday is representing an entirely different sport or sports as witnessed recently. We watched guests ask for: Golf - denied! F1 Racing - denied! And MOST of the guests at tables were just coming from a soccer match or wearing soccer jerseys (entire teams and families) All were denied watching games. Staff seems irritated to be there. And there are far too few staff members so you have to go out of your way to find someone to order another drink, or get an extra sauce, or get a water refilled. Wait times for service are very slow. There was a short wait when we arrived... about 7 to 8 minutes... which felt a little off since the restaurant wasn't too busy, possibly due to limited staffing. We sat in a booth and our waitress Lauren came by pretty quickly, she was friendly and helpful! We got the fried pickles to start, huge plate. It was pretty good. I got the rum punch, very tasty. For lunch I got 8 regular wings (1/2 teriyaki and 1/2 Dr Pepper bbq), made it into a platter and got the gator tater tots (basically tater tots with cheese, and bacon on top, ask for some ranch too), and to balance it out I got the broccoli. Came for dinner on a Tuesday and didn't know that they did bingo, so we were pleasantly surprised to play during our dinner. We had a coupon for buy one entrée get one 50% off, and they actually honored it even though I only got an appetizer and my husband got an entrée. So we were really thrilled about that. Just moved to lake Nona from the downtown area and was so excited that Gators was opening up here too. My wife and I came to get a couple of drinks and dinner and sat at the bar. We ordered a couple drinks and beers and ordered one of their specials for dinner. The special was two entrees from a short list and either an appetizer or dessert all for $30. We ordered our entrees and decided to order the chocolate cake for dessert. We were very disappointed that it took over 30 minutes to get our food, and that is after the bartender went to check on the food multiple times. I ordered the teriyaki chicken which came with rice and broccoli. While very tasty, the chicken breast was on the small side and no seasoning on the sides. My wife ordered the chicken wings with scooter sauce and Mac and cheese and was very happy with the food. After we finished the bartender informed us that there was no longer any cake left. Had we known when we ordered it, we would have gotten an appetizer instead as we didn't want fried Oreos or a brownie Sunday which were the other options. We ended up ordering the brownie at this point and it took another 15-20 minutes for it to come out. It was very delicious however. It's difficult writing a poor review for a place that I have loved coming to in the past and the food was pretty good but the wait and missing options was pretty disappointing. The place is clean and inviting. I ordered the turkey avocado wrap off of the lunch menu and ordered a beer. The food arrived quickly. There were some beer on tap that I did not know and the bartender let me sample a beer before choosing a beer. The Later Gator hazy IPA was good and that was what I chose. It's hard to believe we are paying so much now for something that used to be thrown away during processing. Wing prices everywhere need to be reduced back to how they were. They have a seating area where the windows can open up. It's not considered a patio, so no smoking or dogs. The wings were decent, although they don't come with celery. The wife went with 'traditional medium'. I went with 'Gators own hot'. 3 pepper suicide was hotter but it had a hint of sweetness I didn't care for. Reaper sauce was the hottest, but it was a bit bitter and lacked a good flavor to complement the big heat. The Gator hot is more like a traditional Frank's Red Hot type of flavor - great taste and decent heat. Food is average. The onion petals were good but the bowl was half empty. Outback still has the best fried onion petals with complimenting sauce hands down. One thing that really bothered me was when I asked for garlic parm and buffalo sauce on the side for my entree. I ordered it as if I was asking for two different sauces and only got one side. I was very confused and it turned out that the garlic parm was mixed with buffalo. The waitress knew it was our first time and didn't care to explain that all the wing sauce flavors have buffalo in it. You can't just order normal garlic parmesan. I personally didn't enjoy the mix of garlic parm with buffalo since the buffalo was overpowering; however, I could see the potential. The fried oreos were terrible. It was salty and doughy. I highly do not recommend. My mom ordered the wings and said she prefers Hooters. My dad had the Philly cheesesteak and said he prefers the Big Kahuna from Jersey Mike's. I gave this place a try about a 2 weeks ago. They messed up our order and the food wasn't that good. I had a French onion soup that was so burnt! I asked the server if she could have them add another slice of cheese to cover the burnt part of the soup and she returned with a bowl of shredded cheese and told me to throw it on top! I thought I'd give them another chance and went back since they're a new restaurant and it was worse! They messed up our order. The food was not good and the service wasn't good either. They brought items we didn't order and it took so long to get the correct food. Our party was done eating by the time the correct items I ordered came out. So I had to take it to go. They didn't offer to comp anything for messing up just said I could get a box and take it home. Even though I didn't even get to enjoy my $15 meal with everyone else. I was a server/bartender for over 10 Years. If that was one of my tables I would of asked if they wanted dessert or had my mama get comp the meal that wasn't right since it wasn't even able to be eaten when everyone else was eating. I will not be back to this location for at least 6 months if ever! Hopefully they can get all their kinks worked out. Other gators were by far 100x better than this one! We waited and finally two people came to us (sorta fighting for the table) and one dominated taking the table.
