Ok so this was the very first time I've been to Nona Blue Modern Tavern... and I was so impressed by the service and quality of the food and drinks. This restaurant is located in a nice plaza in Lake Nona with plenty of parking in their huge parking lot. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately by the host and were sat out in the patio upon our request. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the restaurant had such a warm and romantic feel to it. It had dark lighting and very sophisticated decor and seating inside which is perfect for like a date night or a celebration with friends and family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio was very nice as well, it had a bar and TVs outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought that their menus on the tablets were such a nice touch.. it elevated the experience from the typical laminated paper menus. We ordered a few cocktails and they were all strong and tasty. For food we ordered the French Quarter Pasta, Fried Calamari, and Baby Back Ribs and OMG everything was so tasty and were decent portions! Now I will say... the star of the show hands down was the warm carrot cake...it was absolutely life changing. I will come back just for that dessert. Overall, I had a great first experience at Nona Blue Modern Tavern. Yes it is a bit on the pricey side... but it's great to visit every once in a while. Me and my husband went late night for some drinks and a little snack and we came across Nona blue. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was warm and inviting and had dark wood vibes but very comfy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks as well as the lobster mac & cheese.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the pomegranate Cosmo drink and the lime in the coconut drink. Both drinks were delicious and different that we ordered another round of them. The lobster mac & cheese was perfection with tons of meat and cheesy goodness. The bartender was really nice and attentive and got all our drinks and food to us in a timely manner. Drinks and food were delicious and service was amazing. We will definitely be back in the near future.
Had a girls night at Nona Blue after one friend talked about this spot, specifically the carrot cake for at least the last year. We came on a Friday night and made it in time for happy hour, but the happy hour deals aren't overly incredible since it really only saves a few dollars. Bought a special blueberry lemon drop and it was good, but super sweet and not very strong. I ordered a burger as it seemed like the safest most affordable option, but it really wasn't great. I've actually had better burgers at family BBQs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is trendy and very dark, but they make up with the darkness by having iPads as the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However pairing the darkness with the light certain things stand out and in this instance it was the lack of dusting. The chandelier over our table was caked in dust.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Gotta hand it to my friend though as the best part of the evening was the carrot cake. The prices of the food and drink aren't really worth it, but maybe stopping by for dessert would make sense.

The solo exception was the carrot cake dessert which honestly was the best part of the evening 5/5! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I mean even the lamp above the table looked like the dust had been there since the early 00's...I don't want to sit under that again. It was literally over my meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our table actually sent back drinks and sipped through others that weren't worth it. The happy hour is basically $1/$2 off and when you really read the menu it certainly doesn't give you"let's go here for happy hour vibes." I had the special flatbread which was supposed to be steak fajita, but the black beans that made the "sauce" just made it dry. The flavor was nothing like fajitas...did someone forget the chili powder and cumin? There's so many other better places...I won't go back.

I've tried most items on the menu and have been very happy with all of them. on the rare occasions that something wasn't right the manager immediately took care of it with no fuss. We've been eating here since they opened and still go every Sunday for brunch. You won't find a better value for the money.
Another great visit. I'm mainly doing another review to give Tucker a shout out. I love his energy and enthusiasm AND he helped me with a wine recommendation that was spot on! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love to sit outside, that's why I live in Florida, but the inside bar is very comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came for a burger, but the picture of the Ahi Tuna steak and Tucker's recommendation changed my mind. So glad I changed my mind, it was delicious. Tuna was well seared, the couscous salad was also very good, wish I could make one this tasty. This entree was filling, but definitely lighter than a burger which is better for lunchtime.
Let me start by saying Nona Blue has one of the best Carrot Cake's in all of Orlando! It's a must try! Nona Blue is one of my favorite restaurants in the Lake Nona area. Mama's Meatloaf and the carrot cake is the main reason why I always return here. Service is always top notch as well. Sitting in the outside patio area is my favorite, since the inside can be a little loud sometimes. I feel the price point matches the food quality, which seems to always be consistent.
We are in town before we head out on our cruise and met my uncle for dinner (who lives here) after peeping the menu. We came Friday night around 6:30 and were able to get seated right away. They have iPads on the tables as menus and everything has a picture which is amazing for a visual girly like myself. While reviewing the menu, I noticed Happy Hour was still on for a few minutes (until 6:30) so we quickly ordered 2 glasses of wine ($2 off a piece - HH menu is included in oi The menu was categorized in courses and even had a Gluten Sensitive section which is really nice since I try to eat as GF as possible. *Disclaimer I do not have celiacs, I just have a sensitive tummy. Our server was super nice and personable and very attentive. My uncle ordered the pork tenderloin that was served with mashed potatoes and said it was delicious. My husband got the Chilean sea bass, also served with Mashed potatoes and I got the "BAJA" Style Lettuce Wraps with blackened Mahi- Shredded Cabbage, Avocado, Chipotle Mayo, Sour Cream Sauce, with the Haricot Verts as a side. if you've never had Haricot Verts they are French style green beans flash sauteed in olive oil, garlic & Montréal seasoning, topped with sliced toasted almonds and they are to die for!! Everything we had was absolutely delicious and I would dine in again this evening if we would still be in town to try other items!
Stopped by for dinner this weekend. I will say the service is excellent and our food came out quickly. The steak tasted delicious. Cooked perfectly and they ask you to cut it when they bring out the steak to ensure it is cooked the way you like it. The mashed potatoes were good as well. The mac could've been a bit thicker but it was okay. The drinks were amazing! I loved the espresso martini. I would give 5 stars but the mac knocked a star off :(
Another great experience at Nona Blue! This time we tried the ribs, burger, and meatloaf sliders. Everything tasted great. Servers were friendly. Food took a bit long, however, the manager swung by the table and acknowledged the wait time. Hint: Get a reservation. Even with a reservation, we still had to wait for a table for 15+ mins.
My boyfriend and I went to Nona Blue last week. It wasn't our first time. It's a casual restaurant with an elegant vibe--relaxed. We started with the spinach dip and chips, which came with sour cream and a slightly spicy salsa. The dip tasted very fresh and homemade. My boyfriend had the meatloaf plate, his usual favorite whenever he visits. The creamy corn was rich and well-seasoned, though the mashed potatoes were a bit heavy at least for me. (Because I am almost 60! lol ) I ordered the meatloaf sliders (available during happy hour), and we also tried the blue cheese coleslaw. I usually don't like blue cheese, but this one was mild and refreshing--surprisingly enjoyable for both of us. Our waitress was friendly, with a beautiful smile, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was easygoing and comfortable. The bar area has TVs if you want to watch sports while dining. But t we sat in a booth where it was quieter and more private. We really enjoyed our time there. It's so nice to have beautiful place like Nina Blue in near the community.
Ambiance is always top notch but we haven't been here in a while and things have been upgraded!! The menus are now on IPads!! There are new dishes on the menu and they kept their famous meatballs and mama's meatloaf. They even made meatloaf sliders and those were delicious! Our service was patient and kind as we had a party of six and we were all not there at the same time, we were one of the last diners on a Tuesday night and they still waited on us with a smile and didn't make us feel rushed. Everything we had was delicious!

My recent experience here was perfection. Called for a same-day reservation for a party of 10 on a prom season Saturday. Figured my chances were slim, but Tonya (or perhaps Tonia) the manager ensured that my dining dreams came true. She was very helpful, fitting us in at 8:30. The door to enter the restaurant isn't prominently labeled, so I always second guess if I have the right way. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a classy feel inside with lighting that sets the mood, as well as cohesive fixtures and accents.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tablet menus? Yes. That's a thing here. Our server did a great job taking care of us. All our needs were met with finesse. As for the food, so delicious! I would normally go for the Lobster Mac & Cheese, which is to die for, but I like to switch things up. The Mahi Mahi Sandwich didn't disappoint. The regular mac & cheese that I had for my side is some of the best around town. The cocktails are flawless. My Mint Julep and Manhattan were perfectly crafted and 100% satisfying. The service here was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us throughout our dining experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lighting was also very dim but pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the food, the best item on the bbq chicken platter was the creamed corn. There was a perfect crunch on top and the cream paired very well with the sweet corn. I believe it had jalapeños in it but there barely was any spice. The bbq chicken tasted just like you would imagine it and the fries weren't anything special. My girlfriend really enjoyed the lobster mac & cheese. Just like the creamed corn, my girlfriend complimented the crunch on top of the entree. We both liked the spinach dip and the chips were lightly seasoned well too. Steak medallions were cooked and flavored perfectly, tender tangy juicy. Server was attentive. Ambiance was elevated casual. Have not been here in ages and I'm glad I came for lunch today. A little bit on the pricier side for a lunch salad but the steak was worth it. read more

The food is delicious and well-cooked. The steak was a little over-seasoned for me but tasty nonetheless. Everything comes out hot and the service is great as well. Absolutely LOVE the calamari, steak fries, and the drinks! read more

Nona Blue is hands down one of my favorite local restaurants! Every single visit has been consistently amazing. The food is always on point, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and served hot and fresh every time. The service is just as impressive. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place you can count on for a great experience, whether it's a casual dinner or a night out with friends. My absolute favorites are the sliders (so good!) and the carrot cake which is honestly one of the best I've had anywhere. That said, I truly haven't had a single thing here that wasn't amazing. If you're looking for a reliable spot with great food and service, Nona Blue never disappoints! read more
We came for lunch and I picked this place based on yelp pictures as the interior reminded me of Off the strip Las Vegas restaurants. From the outside it looks dead and closed but once inside it was actually very busy! We got seated in a boot which added to the Vegas vibes. It was similar minus the cigarette smoke :) service was friendly and quick. Portions were large. The shrimp and fire roasted corn soup was ok. The salmon dip was good and the salad was very good especially the chicken blackened. The check brought with a light under it was a nice last Las Vegas touch as this is mostly used in stripclubs and nightclubs:) I don't understand their sign about yelpers as our reviews about this place are good... read more

This spot is a neighborhood favorite, so be prepared for a bit of a wait and limited parking. Reservations are definitely a good idea! I've heard they've been around for over 20 years, and with that kind of longevity and consistency, the hype started to make sense. I came in with medium expectations. The menu leans toward classic American fare, nothing groundbreaking. True to my expectations, the food was solid. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server -- a super friendly brunette wearing glasses -- was incredibly attentive and checked on us frequently. I ordered the All-American Burger medium well, but it came out well done. When she asked how everything was, and I gave honest feedback, she didn't hesitate to offer a remake. I appreciated that and asked for it to come back medium, and it did, right on point. My friends' entrees looked great, and no one had any complaints (unless they were too afraid to say so in front of such a nice server). Also worth noting: there's an automatic 20% gratuity added for parties of six or more. read more

The best, MOST CONSISTENT place in Lake Nona. They have been here for over 20 years! There are so many incredible staples. The lemon chicken is amazing, but so is the Polynesian ribeye, and the lobster and the ribs! You can't forget to the get corn chowder and whenever they feature their potato soup. Their white sangria is my favorite drink! Service is always top notch and the ambiance is just right for date night or any celebration. You can't go wrong at Nona Blue. I can rave all day. They even have brunch! read more

From the moment we arrived at Nona Blue Modern Tavern we noticed and felt that welcoming neighbor vibe, with an enthusiastic greeting from the hosts the tone of our visit was set. The restaurant is spacious with booths, tables, high tops and an extensive bar. They also have an outdoor space and there is sufficient parking. Kayla, our server, was very personable and attentive throughout our visit. You could see this place is great for date nights, group gatherings or getting together to watch the game. And the food......the servings were not only shareable but also delicious. Cheers! read more

Warm, welcoming service from Jasmin at the outside bar. When presented w my food craving options, Jasmin came in with the assist and the Fish & Chips it was! Ambiance Elevated Americana! Knowledgeable staff with good recommendations. Really important, the staff is very attentive to diet restrictions and advised us that the shrimp corn chowder uses clam juice and my family had an allergy to clams ! Ask for server Sam ( Samantha). Bob from the kitchen came to let us know about the chowder! Diet restrictions are important for our family dining out. read more
What a great spot. It was a group of 5 of us and we all rated it a 10 out of 10. The food, atmosphere, service, and drinks were all great. Noah was our server and he did an amazing job. I'm in town from Fort Lauderdale and was craving a good Caesar salad. I'm so glad I found this place cause not only was it fresh and delicious -- it was big enough to share! The portions here are very generous. I shared the Caesar salad, French onion soup and the fish & chips with my fiancé. We left stuffed and with leftovers. All dishes were 10/10. We were served by Sarah who was very kind, attentive and professional. We'll definitely be returning when we're back in town! read more

Great Burger and Thoughtful Service Nona Blue is a great tavern-style spot with a cozy, dimly lit atmosphere--exactly what you imagine when you think "classic tavern." We did a takeout order and were seriously impressed. We got the American hamburger, and it was grilled perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My son has a dairy allergy, and the woman who took our order was super attentive, making sure it was noted and communicated clearly. When we picked up the food, everything was labeled and separated properly to avoid cross-contamination, which gave us peace of mind. We waited at the bar while the food was being prepared, and even that brief time gave us a great feel for the place. Next time, we'll definitely be dining in. Highly recommend--especially if you're looking for a great burger and thoughtful service. read more
