I do love the location, and the concept. And I've been here a few times. The people are really nice. But the service is UBER slow. The dessert is delicious! But the food is ehhh Jambalaya is so salty it's instant high blood pressure in a bite. The last time was kinda cut throat... coconut shrimp had NO coconut, it if fried in fish fry batter and the dip os coconut pudding. Y'all. I just can't. A group of 5 of us regularly meet for lunch here as we try to solve the worlds problems. We're appreciative towards our servers, pray before each meal and don't ask for much. We've never had any issues and thank you for providing good food. Recently the service has declined and decision making. I personally can understand it gets busy at times and delays happen. The food has always been OK but, recently 1 of our members took his wife there and didn't receive his food. He finally spoke up after a long period of time and was told their order would be "fast tracked." As others were getting their orders and my friend and his wife weren't, they left hungry. Yesterday when our group of 5 visited, we sat waiting for over an hour before asking "where is our orders?" Our server informed us there was a problem with the rice cooker. As one of our members said "this is unacceptable" our server immediately responded by saying "do you want me to cancel the whole order?" To me, that was a rude thing to say. 2 in our group had ordered a dish which includes rice and because of that, nobody would get their order. Because of this, we will never visit Gayle's again nor will we bring our families. I can think of many situations that could have made this better. 1. Inform the customers there is a problem with the rice cooker and offer an alternative instead have all of us waiting over an hour before finding out there's a problem. 2. Boil rice in a pot. 3. Send someone to a store or have someone deliver minute rice (nobody would know the difference.) 4. Apologize for the long wait. 5. Offer a discount or a free food item. Nothing was conveyed to us in the form of wrong doing and we were inconvenienced in time. I can't be sued for lost revenue from this review because there's no contract stating I can't leave a honest review regarding the service or practices of this business. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant, I have been here several times with friends on lunch break and I have NEVER had a bad experience. The food is always delicious, fresh, and honestly comes out picture perfect every time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very homey, trendy farmhouse chic vibes, and always clean! The waitresses are sometimes super busy, but greet you with a smile and I always receive amazing service - great place to come especially for a chill lunch for comfort food! read more

The service was fantastic! The waitress was very nice and attentive. The fried pickles was amazing and had a slight kick to them. I ordered the chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and beans. The steak was tough to chew and even to cut and had no flavor. The mashed potatoes were also bland and the gravy was water. I ordered beans with my meal as a side and they gave me refried beans with cheese. Who eats refried beans with chicken fried steak? The food was terrible except the fried pickles. We have been eating at Gayle's since shortly after they opened. The food was always good until tonight. We have been bragging about the place to my brother-in-law. We finally got him to go tonight. The chicken fried steak was over cooked. It is usually delicious!! The rolls were hard. We could only eat the center of them. They are usually the best rolls I have eaten at a restaurant. My burger was burned. It looked like they tried to cut the charred part off. Even though it was burned, it was cold. The fries are usually hot and delicious, but they were cold tonight. I hope this was a fluke and not a sign that the quality of the food is going down hill. We will try again. read more

Gale's is one of the most delightful restaurants you could visit in Bohnam. The Cajun food is absolutely delicious not to mention they Have the best burgers in town with fries crispy to your specifications. We had guests in from Des Moines and we took them to Gayle's for dinner. The special that night was crawdads and shrimp, so I was nervous about ordering something different. We all had Chicken Fried Steaks. Wow!! It was fantastic and our guests were impressed!!
