Visited Fresno and needed a gym while in town. Through Yelp, I came across GB3. Purchased a day pass for 10.00 and was not disappointed. Side note: I've visited gyms through California and various other states and GB3 ranks at the top. GB3 was huge and adequately stocked with cardio equipment, free weights and machines. It was clean and not crowded. Parking was plentiful and staff was friendly. Love the high ceilings and open feeling of the facility. read more

I think people giving this place 5 stars have never have seen another gym to compare it to. If you go anytime after 3pm you'll feel like you're at a high school working out with a bunch of kids, I don't know why sometimes it seems like there's more kids than adults at these gyms. It's also super packed after 3pm, I've been making an effort to go in the mornings just because of how difficult it is to get any machines or equipment for a good workout after 3pm. Gym hours have also been significantly reduced, so late hours are no longer an option. read more

This is a review on the service more specifically the front desk. Some of the girls at the desk don't seem happy and aren't friendly. It has happened on more than one occasion. I'm not looking to be ask how my day was or have a conversation but a simple good morning good afternoon, I'll even take a fake smile. Your jobs literally consists of you sitting and typing in numbers a little customer courtesy. Today two people were playing checkers at the front desk. What job in the customer service industry allows you to play board games. It might be a lack of management but either way if you don't like your job find another one. read more

I usually go to the one on Milburn because I live closer to that one, but I come here every now and then. The workers at this location do not seem friendly or interested as the one on Milburn. I say good morning when I walk in and have a good day when I leave and the front desk workers are glued to their phone and say it back with no eye contact and no energy in their voices. The people at GB3 on Palm and Ness are great ! Natasha was a lot of help and trainer Darius is a good and patient person. I've never been to the gym and didn't know how to use the equipment. He showed me and made it a lot less intimidating to use them. read more

SEE PHOTOS BELOW: I do believe when this branch of GB3 first opened, it was deemed as Fresno's elite gym, and its prime location a big draw to Fresno's more affluent clientele. So imagine my disgust and shock when I used the showers today. Chewing gum and clumps of hair on the shower floor, as well as gum wrapper, bunches of dirty paper towels and electrode stickers that had been discarded on the floor and not picked up in TWO days! Also the drain in the shower I used wasn't very efficient. Water level kept rising, I had to stand in the corner so as to keep my feet out of the puddle. Yuck! What happened George Brown? This is all grossly unsanitary, not to mention well beneath the standards of what you purport your eponymous establishment to be! I personally would be horrified to have my name attached to such lapsed standards of cleanliness, quality and class! What are you going to do about this?! I would begin by getting the cleaning staff more busy, I see them spending too much time in idle chitchat with each other and members. On a side note, could you please, pretty please, install shampoo, conditioner and body soap in all the showers? All we have is hand-soap (NOT suitable at all)! I hear that GB3 on Kings Canyon has all of those! Why not GB3 on Palm?! Consistency across all branches seems to be lacking. Until I see improved changes, my rating remains a 3. read more

I've been going to GB3-Palm since last year and I am very happy with my results! I have lost a total of 60 pounds since joining and I feel like a new person! I love coming here . The gym is clean and very welcoming . Staff always make you feel welcome and if you have any questions they are always willing to help you. The daycare staff are awesome too my son enjoys coming here. Wide variety of cardio machines and TRX equipment. I also, enjoy coming to the cycle classes instructors are so energetic and push you to do your best. Their Zumba classes are so fun too make sure you check them out! read more

My brother had passed away the day after I signed up for membership. I walked in to try to cancel my membership because I decided to move out of location to be with family. The female at the front desk denied my request and seemed to have no sympathy whatsoever regarding my situation(not that that matters since people are heartless these days anyway)! I requested to speak to the manager but she also denied me that and ordered me to leave or the police would be called when all I asked was to see the manger in a calmly manner. These people at this establishment are very mean, cold, and are very money hungry. Do not sign up for membership here unless you prefer to pay your life away to these money hungry leeches and get awful terrible service!!! They did my boy dirty! Apparently you cant record videos of yourself working out or they will cancel your membership. That is just wrong and really bad management! Me and my friend Use to go here and record ourselves working out now we cant do that. Yet you go to their instagram page and theres countless content of people showing their gains. The manager is in the wrong and should apologize gor calling the cops on my friend only because he stood up for himself. Also she said he was cursing at her. The pool area was nice and tidy but the spa was filthy - dirty water with things floating in it. Changing rooms were tidy but filthy underneath (urine all over floor in the Mens bathroom). Absolutely love working out in this gym when we are in town. We come to Fresno monthly for business and in the beginning we went to other gyms, depending on the location of the hotels we were staying at. Then about 5 months ago we came here and been coming back ever since. We like the $10 daily pass. There are other less equipped gyms in Fresno that charge $15 and even $20 for a daily pass...like, are they nuts or what?! This gym is clean, it's huge, it's very well equipped and the equipments are well maintained. It offers a variety of classes I like, such as spin and kick boxing. It has a separate area with boxing gear and punching bags for people like my girlfriend that needs to work off that rage (it's her job, I assure you). Overall, I love this place. If I live in town I'd definitely get a membership. read more

Hey George, how about holding off on the next Bentley & installing a dehumidifier so we aren't all slipping around in our own sweat all winter long? It's disgusting & dangerous. It's like working out in a sauna. The soap dispensers in the bathroom and half of the hooks in the gym lockers are all broken also. I'm told that the heating and air-conditioning is set to one setting so it stays the same temperature all year round. That does not address the humidity factor that is a huge problem when it's raining outside and people are working out. Take a look at all the windows in this gym. Everyone of them is covered in fog/sweat. If you take one of the gym wipes and you go into the aerobics room and Wipe down one square foot section it will come out black in your hand. So will all of the free weights in the aerobic room. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Yelp 2016 Review 100 Challenge - #20 This gym is pretty much night and day compared to the Blast gyms in the area. The rooms are spacious, equipment are clean, organized and modern, and this location in particular is pretty well ventilated in my opinion. Another difference I notice is that no matter the time of day you come in, it gets pretty packed even at 430-5 in the mornings. Only negative I can really think of is that they don't have disinfectant bottles throughout the gym to wipe equipment down before you use it, or after. read more

Stopped by for walk- through, signed up on website, too small for phone, need more phone friendly website, came by to get swiper thingy, and done. Staff friendly and helpful, no sales pitches or other annoying wastes of time. Took walk through at peak time, Sat afternoon. Lots of people there, but so much equipment, you could do just about whatever with no waiting. Only limitation I noticed was just one heavy bag, which was in use. Lockers, benches and floors in men's lockeroom were clean enough for germ-phobe like me to be comfortable barefoot and bare-assed. Used pool one day, pretty clean, no I'll effects. Good vibe from patrons, people were there to exercise, not socialize or something else. No noticable stalkers, weirdos or criminals. Nice gym. read more

This gym is leagues about Planet Fitness and Fitness Evolution (which i think rebranded?). It has all of my favorite machines and an open layout. Where they can improve: - provide spray and paper towels for the machines - it's kind of gross there is no option to clean after using (and knowing no one else is either). - better maintain the machines - The row of my favorite cross trainer machines has had 4 broken for the past 3 months and no one has fixed them yet - keychain ID cards so I don't have to hold my id card while i work out. Some of the complaints are hilarious, I love this gym, I agree it can be crowded at times depending when you choose to go. I wish they had an extra space when they are doing classes. Because that's where the inconvenience comes in for me. But I do usually try to time my workouts when classes are not in session. As far as re-racking the weights, big deal, if I want to use the leg press and some lazy person left weights on it, guess what? I'm still gonna use it, geesh some people are such brats, it's not gonna kill you to remove some weights I promise. Also yes some people use multiple machines, which doesn't annoy me, have you ever heard of super-setting your workouts so you can get out of there quicker. I think anyone who complains about little things as described above are probably better off elsewhere. read more

The staff here should set ground rules for Blast/Bally's members who have migrated to our location that weights should be put back and that machines aren't meant to be broken in EVERYTIME. Otherwise, this joint does a good job. In need of expansion, however, as their membership has grown exponentially in the past year. read more

They have good equipment that is well maintained...but the staff is rude and some of the other guests feel they have the right to take 8 different spots for their "circuit training". My friend and I got into a fight about this woth two guys who were jist sitting anf talking, instead if lifting. I guess the guys feelings got hirt and the guy went to tattle on us afyer lying about being in the marines and getting called out. The front desk staff told us to stop acting like children, then invited us not to come back to this location. We asked why are we being punished when we were just trying to work out? We were told "because they came to us first". We abruptly ended our contracts. I will say we did really enjoy their gyms for bodybuilding. If you can handle a bunch of cry baby ass holes, this place is for you. read more

Called "Corporate" to have them cancel my membership. The Young woman was rude and just kept talking over me reading me the POLICY over and over. Not listening to my situation and not offering advice. I asked to speak to a manager or a supervisor and she said " WE ALL HAVE THE SAME TITLE HERE SIR, The person above us is George!!" So I asked to talk to George, and he was out of town unfortunately. So she says she will leave him a note to call me. What a waste of time, and energy. Went to 8 am spin, the instructor shows up, says she's going to let everyone do what they want??? Why take the time to go to the class if the instructor basically came in and took the day off.. ??? " do whatever you want..' I don't know about most people, but I'm busy and if I take the time to go the class, I expect the instructor to teach..... C'mon GB3 do better! talk to your instructors, tell em to step it up. Intentionally didn't go to the 9 am due to the fact last time, the instructor could barley pedal the bike herself... to be fair, she was probably 65 and should have never been in the instructors seat... came in late, spend 8 more minutes talking to individuals about personal stuff... Best gym in Fresno IMHO. Always clean and airy and they let you park your motorcycle out front. I've been going here for about three years now and I've been happy with everything. A few "nice to haves" would be: Bike Chalet or security cameras fixed on the bike parking rack Aerators on the faucets in the bathroom. I like strong water flow as much as the next guy but it really blasts so you have to be careful when turning the handles. More yoga classes i tried a few other gyms in Fresno when I fist moved back here. And none had the energy and party-like atmosphere as Palm/Nees GB3. Good job, George Brown! read more
