Another GREAT meal at GeJo's. 2 orders of LASAGNA and 1 Chicken Parmigiana. Also, a glass of an Argentine Malbec which was really good. Elliot served us really well as we chatted away the early evening with our drinks. She was very patient with us. Dinner came and WOW. Both the lasagna and the parmigiana were huge and almost swimming in a rich red sauce. The lasagna was super-meaty and very nicely spiced. It was super tasty as well. Chicken Parmigiana was also amazing according to my wife. We polished the meal off with a single piece of carrot cake. It arrived quite warm (never had warm carrot cake before). It was really really good altho I probably prefer cake not warm. However, it was very very good. Pegged the calorie meter tonight but worth every calorie!! Brian and I had not been here since 1998. We had forgotten what a great spot this is for delicious Italian food. We had a party of six. Thankfully, they take reservations. Food was delicious. I had spicy spaghetti. Brian had lasagna. The table was full of garlic bread, salad, and wine. What else could one ask for? Limoncello shots !!!! The flavors are orange, lemon, and lime. They are to die for! This was an anniversary so there was an abundance of carrot cake for us all to enjoy. We had a great time. They have a full bar and they do a deep pour on the wine. My wife brought me here with some nostalgia filled memories of eating here as a kid. I couldn't have been more impressed! It's a small out of the way place (you've passed it by the time you see the sign). It definitely has a family italian restaurant vibe, but the decor is clean and modern. The food was yummy! They had italian eggrolls that were incredible! The pizza was a chicago style, but very flavorful. But the thing that was most impressive actually was how they handled a mistake. It was our server's first day, and there was a simple mistake in our order. We didn't have any problem with it & just were going to politely wait for the order to be redone. Well as we waited we were approached by the owner (Joe) who appologized and then comped our meal. We explained that it wasn't necessary, but he insisted - it's just how he does things. We've eaten here several times. Service is always friendly, and they work really hard to keep the place clean. We love the chilled salads and the food has been consistently good. If I could give it a 4.5, I would. The only thing holding it back from a 5 star rating is the decor and ambience. We tried this old fashioned Italian restaurant recently and it looked updated inside, and was comfortable with plenty of tables. Clearly there are regulars who visit often, but we as newcomers were treated so kindly and warmly! We started with the incredible garlic knots and I want to go back right now and eat the crispy, but fluffy pillows of garlic butter right now! I ordered the combo and wouldn't get it again. It came with a red sauce that was a touch plain to me so I'd try something else. The ravioli was pleasant and I liked the meatballs a lot. My husband got a "cannoli" which was a lot like a calzone hehe. And it was huge and filled with yummy ingredients and he ate it all, with gusto. My iced tea had no flavor and I hardly touched it, so I can't recommend that per se, but I highly recommend trying the food and wine or beer as my husband loved his. Service was stellar and everyone was helpful and kind. Our server said his brother was cooking in the kitchen so it's deeply family run and you can tell they love their restaurant and customers. read more

GeJo's Italian is a hidden gem that serves great Italian food with friendly service. We happened upon GeJo's while driving down the street and decided to give it a try. We tried the homemade egg noodles with meatballs and I was super excited to find a restaurant serving up these homemade noodles. The homemade noodles have a heartier texture to them and are thicker than traditional spaghetti. The meatball was excellent with a great texture, flavor, and size. With our pasta, we also got two side salads and it made a perfect meal. The side salads were done right with a nice combination of vegetables and the dressing was served on the side. We also do not want to forget giving a shout out to the garlic knots which were soft and covered with a generous portion of garlic butter. Some of the best garlic knots I have had in Denver. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We learned about the history of GeJo's, which is a great history. They were also attentive to the weather as we were sitting outside. A storm started to blow in so they shut down the sides of the outdoor eating section. In Colorado fashion, the storm moved through quickly and they reopened the sides as soon as the wind had passed. read more

They have fried ice cream, eggplant parm, thick crust pizza kept warm with a candlelit container and a great beer menu such as Peroni as I am an avid Italian beer drinker. The staff is great, friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. The owner Joe is really friendly and super nice. He came over and talked to us for a bit. I always strive to look for a mom / pop type place for Italian as he told us most of the recipes are his grandma's receipts which is great to hear. This was a regular for us when we lived in the area and is a perfect spot to grab dinner and/or a drink. They've got a pretty simple element but everything is great on it. A little on the oily/doughy side. Home "style" spaghetti was a little better than average. Noodles had a little bit of a packed taste. Definitely not homemade. Meatballs had good flavor, but texture was kind of off/somewhat spongy. Pizza just kind of average. Cheese was a bit chewy and needed more sauce. Crust was fairly good. Ge-jo's has been around for decades and used to be, hands down, the best place to get an insanely good pizza, pretty cheap. That being said, this location has been bought and sold a couple times since then and they haven't kept up with the times by any stretch of the imagination. Ambiance feels like the 80's, the portions are still 80's sized, but the price is very 2023. I hate leaving this review because I know it's family owned, but it's just bad. The only thing worse than the value is the service. I'd love to have to come back and change this to 4 or 5 stars, but I've ordered from several times since moving back to this end of town and each time is more depressing.
