If you haven't discovered Reve Coffee Lab yet, I have one question: are you okay? (Seriously, go…read morecheck them out.) This place was basically my second home during undergrad. I'm pretty sure the baristas remember my order better than I do. Here's what makes Reve worth the visit: - The coffee is legitimately phenomenal. They're all about quality over quantity, using science-based brewing and traditional standards to craft coffee that actually tastes like they care. Because they do. If instant gratification is your thing, Starbucks is down the street. If you want good coffee, you're in the right place. - The baristas actually know their stuff. They'll help you find exactly what you're looking for without making you feel clueless. Fair warning though: this is their coffee shop, and they're respectfully enthusiastic about doing things right. Treat them like the humans they are, and you'll have a genuinely great interaction. - The vibe hits different. It's cozy and intimate inside (compact in the best way), but if the weather's nice, the patio is where it's at--plenty of space, zero stress. Work, study, hang out with friends--it all just works here. If you care about good coffee, good people, and a space that actually feels like somewhere you'd want to be, Reve Coffee Lab is your spot.

I wound up getting a cantina blue (espresso, milk, blueberry layer, and butter pea flower), which tasted pretty good to be honest. The bottom layer had a good blueberry taste to it. There isn't that much seating inside because it's a small interior and lots of students studying. At the back side of the coffee bar, there is some bar seating. With the circular seating at the tree, there is a row of outlets and some by the walls. However, if it's sunny and nice (not raining), I recommend sitting outside for a chat.

Cute little store tucked off Nicholson, was finally able to try it on a Saturday afternoon. Quick…read moreservice as it wasn't too busy when I stopped in. So many tasty looking desserts in the window but we went with the cookies and cream ice cream & Venezuelan cheese sticks to eat inside. Unfortunately the empanadas were sold out (was hoping to try some of those for a small lunch). There were no other hot foods but the cheese sticks were very tasty! The ice cream was delicious as well. Took a churro cheesecake & Dubai chocolate cheesecake home to try later with my family but they had plenty of other options--flan, coconut flan, chocolate flan, variety of cheesecakes & tres leches (including several for Father's Day). There is also a small market attached with cold drinks, frozen items & a variety of shelf items. Will be back to try some coffee drinks & other desserts. And hopefully the empanadas!

This is a new dessert spot close to LSU. I've been seeing it as I drive home and made a point to…read morestop in. It's a small shop that has tons of desserts, as well as come hot food and coffee drinks. As soon as we walked in, we felt welcome. The shop has a cute vibe with lots of greens and pinks. The dessert case was full, which made it difficult to settle on one thing. Alexa offered us samples of each of their tres leches, and I did not know that the flavor would be a little different based on the country of origin. My daughter got a brownie, and I settled on a cheesecake. My cheese cake was creamy and rich. I went with the Nutella one that had Ferraro Rocher's on top for sentimental reasons. It did not disappoint on the flavor. I can't wait to come back and try more of their dessert options and snag a coffee and some empanadas.
