I called Scott at Geeks in Phoenix after a previous computer company did a lot of work on my computer because I was getting BSOD almost every day, and they basically didn't fix anything. Scott ran a diagnostic on my computer and noticed the fan was not cooling the compter well enough. He determined that the fan was probably the cause of the BSOD, replaced the fan, increased the RAM and SSD size (at my suggestion, not his--no upselling here!) and voila, everything was fixed. He is an Intel certified expert, he listens to his customers, and he gets things done. His pricing is fair and he is extremely responsive. LOOK NO FURTHER. Since my long-time computer tech went over to the Mac Side several years ago, I have been plagued by a succession of self-styled "experts" who had progressively nudged my computer into pretty much total FUBAR. The last one of these had set up a system that he clearly did not know how to (a) install correctly or (b) program, and developed an attitude when I asked him to actually make it work. A few months ago, someone on NextDoor posted that Scott St. Gelais had fixed their computer issues, and someone else added an unsolicited comment endorsing said Scott. I figured what the hell, called, and left him a voicemail. Scott promptly returned the call. Not long after, he was here and checking my system. Within the hour he had diagnosed the problems and set about fixing them. (Among other things, the previous idiot "expert" had replaced an element that didn't need replacing, and failed to replace an element that did.) Also, Scott got our networked system cooperating the way it was supposed to but frustratingly never had. There have been occasional glitches (usual computer stuff) since then, but Scott has always responded like lightning, and fixed them either remotely or onsite. You also need to know that his fees are beyond fair. So if you want a Computer Geek who REALLY knows his stuff, is honest, prompt, and easy to work with, look no further. This is your guy. read more

He handled my computer with care and was able to intelligently diagnose that it was simply a faulty fan and not a power supply issue or something else. Since he unbundled my wires, he gave me some replacement cable ties, and when all was said and done and he put my computer back together, he wouldn't even take payment for helping me diagnose the problem. After shutting off the power to replace two ceiling fans, my desktop PC (HP Pavillion) would not power up. I found this shop on yelp and needed a quick repair of my laptop hinge coming apart. Geek Squad and Data Doctors said they needed to send in to fix, but I couldn't bee without a computer so needed an in-store fix. Called and spoke to Santos and described problem and he said he would need to see it first, but would be happy to try and fix with parts he had and worst case would need to order parts.
