I WAS EXTREMELY SURPRISED BY THE NICE WELL MANNERED MAN THAT HELPED ME. I've done customer svc for many years (15+?)too. Im hard to impress that way. Im sorry i dont remember his name though... I didn't have my insurance policy through this Geico office but I did have one with them for 11 years, and what a fool I've been. After my manufacturer's warranty and Geico's parts coverage expired, I changed my policy to the state's mandatory, minimum requirements to lower the cost thinking I was getting a good rate from someone I've been with for so long. Stayed with that policy for about 5-6 years thinking Geico was treating me right. When Geico raised my premiums for no good reason, and giving me a pretty lame reason why they raised it, I started calling other insurance companies to get quotes. I called three companies and all of them gave me quotes for far better policies than what I had with Geico and all were cheaper. One of them was almost 50% cheaper than Geico's. I was so angry upon hearing this. I will never do business with Geico again. If you have a policy with Geico, I recommend that you immediately call around to at least 2-3 other companies to get quotes and I'm pretty sure you'll get far better prices, and policies, than what Geico is giving you (unless you have a bad driving record). I just spent an hour on hold, to get a live person that could not help me; then was to connect me to the right department for my Homeowners policy, to get a voicemail that says we are closed. Then disconnected. WOW. Time to change legislative policy and make insurance voluntary and protect us from these big corporations. We need to protect the regular folks from people like Mr. Buffet. READ THIS BEFORE DECIDING TO GO WITH GEICO OR EVEN CONTINUE PURCHASING INSURANCE FROM GEICO. 15 min. CAN SAVE YOU 15%, BUT THAT 15% WAS MY COLLISION COVERAGE WITHOUT MY CONSENT. (I know its long but I and people I know have had repeated issues with Geico Insurance) Situation: Recently I was going through the process of selling my truck. Mind you, at this point I had full liability and collision coverage. I had then bought a used bmw. I called Geico up and explained that I needed my new car added on to my existing policy and that I would keep the coverage on my truck until I sold it. At this point complete liability and collision coverage is on both cars (as requested by me). I sold my truck and then called Geico and had it removed from my policy. I was issued a new quote for now only having the bmw on my policy. I received temporary cards through email, and then latter physical cards in the mail (no invoice or other documents). Accident: A few months later the unthinkable happens and a lady stops in front of me on the freeway and I couldn't avoid her. No injures, no airbags, and my car is still drivable. I wait for the police report and then roll my car back home. I call Geico up to file my claim. What the Geico rep told me was that, I had liability so all the damages to the other car are covered but I DID NOT have collision coverage so the damages to my car were not covered at all. I immediately questioned the rep. How could I not have collision coverage? I have had it on my policy the entire time I've been with Geico. The rep then proceeded to brush me off by saying that it was my responsibility to check what my coverage was. Granted I will accept a level of responsibility for my own policy, but when I verbally made the request over the phone I made to request or gave no consent to change or alter my existing policy, nor did I ever sign for or change polices with Geico. Solution (if any): So my cousin is an actual attorney for Geico so I called him up. He then pointed my in the direction of the claims investigators. I'm thankful for the help my cousin gave but I was bounced around from investigator to manager to supervisor, until I realized that everyone I talked to try to find out why my policy changed without my consent or notice was handed down a decision from at least three supervisors up and had no interest in trying to understand my situation. I requested any relevant documents they had and was DENIED until I talked to the investigators supervisor who agreed to send them over. At this point Geico has repeatedly told me that they will not take any responsability for my situation nor admit or even acknowledge that a mistake was made in forming my policy. So now I'm in the process of fixing the car myself plus some out of pocket body work. My faith in Geico has been shattered despite how helpful or cheerful their reps might seem. Geico in my and several other of my friends and families experiences have been completely disappointing when it comes to providing any assurance in the time of need. There are many other Insurance companies out there that actually care about their clients and I am extremely confident that I and anyone I know will live safe and assured Without Geico. read more

Worst experience ever. It's sad to say that I am SO glad I am not a geico policy holder. Even more sad that i actually considered it at first and reconsidered switching over to your guys insurance. Just found out I was pregnant why in the heck would I risk the life of my baby? My car was in shop for almost 2 months. Now it's been over 2 months since the accident and my car isn't the same. My car is driveable BUT not safe. And this is what I get? This is what I deserve? I took time out of my day to talk to your adjusters. I was nice. I was cooperating as best i could. I call your adjusters supervisor and I get an attitude and I get hung up on? Really? Now I'm being told I have to deal with this? This is my car? No it isn't! Tell me how a brand new car would have squeaking suspension. Poor body work. Brakes that are not working properly and squeak. Air bag light that turns on while I'm driving. I feel I got screwed from my brand new car and I now am left with doubt in my mind as to whether I can survive another crash. I fear driving sometimes because of this bastard. Lon Racamara is insulting, an ingrate and an imbecile. If I ever have to deal with him EVER again, it would be too soon. Until recent, I thought insurance companies were on top of their jobs in holding unbiased inspection to rightfully aid insured or those of who are involved in the incident. What we have here is an accident that is pretty obvious but also filled with bunch of BS. On a casual Sunday, a driver is hit from the behind by a vehicle who tried to rush into their next destination. Upon the incident, the passenger from the vehicle which caused the accident quickly called their neighbor or friend from the neighborhood. Geico took the person as a witness and totally went against our incident that for some reason, now we became the person who hit their car which "just happened to be stopped" Very unbiased, insured and verified as they say. I am all-in for trusting their company, never. And what's funnier? we were on an one lane street. They claim that the street is in fact a two lane. I asked them if they have checked the street. It is ONE LANE and has no division which makes it a two lane. And they said, "hold on, let me google it." Then they went on the google maps to check the lanes. They say we are positioned too far on the left of that lane that we've given the other vehicle chance to slip by and fit. WOW really? so if i ever find a space in someone else's lane, i can just butt in horizontally? great thinking. And you make it sound like our car's small. Took my new BMW to the dealership because a foreign object hit the a/c condenser and it needed to be replaced. Sent the repair bill to Geico and they said that BMW charged me too much for the repair and they would have only authorized a dollar amount just under my deductible for the repair so they will not pay anything to me at all. They wanted me to take it to a shop in Kalihi and have the repair work done. You think I would do that for my new BMW. They also wanted me to drive around town with no a/c until I could get the repair quote from another repair shop other than BMW. As a result of this poor service, I will cancel my policy with Geico which I have had for years and go with another insurance company. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!! If you get into a vehicle accident with a GEICO insured driver be prepared to be declared the guilty party whether or not you caused the accident. My son was side swiped on the H1 by a Lexus driven by driver Kevin. My son had to follow him several hundred feet, flash his high beam, and honked his horn 2x to get Kevin to pull over and stop. Kevin admitted blame, apologized, said he drifted off ( fell asleep?). My son, never been involved in an accident, was shocked, and dazed. Kevin knew what the procedure was after getting involved in an accident bc he told my son and my son's friend that he was involved in 2 accidents previous. Really!? This boy is only 20 yrs old! I filed a report w my insurance being that the car is registered under my name. My insurance agent placed a 3 way conference call with Geico. The following day, Megan, Claims Examiner for Geico, Kapiolani branch, did a PHONE interview w myself, and several minutes with my son. My son was very truthful w his accounts of the accident. :50mins after the call from Megan, I received an email stating,"Based on the information we have at this time, we do not believe that our insured is legally liable for your damages....... GEICO must deny liability for your damages." WHAT!? My son was side swiped, the young man admitted blame, but did his story change? Megan performed her investigation on the PHONE, never sent an adjuster to examine either vehicles, never saw the pics my son took of both vehicles, did not interview either my son's passenger or the Lexus' passenger but yet made a determination within 50 mins that my son was at fault. BTW, Kevin never took pics of the damaged cars. Luckily my son did, unfortunately, to no avail! We filed a claim w our insurance and you would think that if you drove a Lexus, was involved in an accident and wasn't at fault, a call to your insurance agent would be immediate. GEICO was not notified, no claim filed for the Lexus and GEICO was not aware of the accident until my agent called. Livid with the instant decision of fault by Megan, GEICO Claims Examiner, I was very anxious to get an explanation of the rush decision. DON'T BOTHER! Their decision is written in stone! As I spoke of my concern w the rush decision all I heard on the other line were keyboard strokes. I had to ask if she was still on the line and her response was, " Is there anything else you would like to add?" WHAT!? I wasn't making a report! I called to have a conversation to get an answer to my question on how an important decision on an accident can be done w/in :50mins! Don't bother asking to speak to a supervisor also. Thinking maybe I can have a conversation w someone who isn't "typing", I requested to be transferred to Liability Supervisor Steve. However, his monotone speech and with the disinterest in my concern I viewed it as very unprofessional and an exact example of the employee who he supervises. I do have an appointment to meet with their adjuster 5 days from today! I had to request for the appointment since a physical investigation was, again, NOT required by Examiner Megan to make her determination. I guess I am still hopeful that the direction and angle of the damage would be proof that my son was side swiped, and the victim. Bottom line: call 911 and request for a police officer to report to the scene of the accident no matter how minor/ small. 2nd and most important, avoid being involved in an accident w a GEICO insured driver! If your insurance is other than GEICO you are already declared the guilty party even if your were/are the victim! I know how Customer Service works and as far as Im aware, the rep. that assisted me with a very important billing issue gone incorrect is all due to poor management. Im no manager, but I know an effective and proficient one when I first speak to one. I didnt receive any notice to any possible issue with my policy. I was given incorrect info. from their rep as far as the month they stated they didnt receive payment when they shouldve and at this point after checking with my bank, payment had gone through. So, when a concern and an important one at that is brought to management and they cant seem to understand or take care of the issue correctly and as best and professional as possible, it is clear to see why reviews by past and no longer ever again policy holders give GEICO a bad name...because their management sucks. So this review is more towards the office/building/services rather than the actual insurance itself. I came in here one time just to settle some business with my geico insurance in person. In regards to the actual location, I feel that it is kinda tricky because even though it says it is on Kapiolani Blvd. technically it is not. Technically, the office and building location is right in between Kapiolani Blvd. and Kawaiahao St. The entrance is technically on Curtis St. I had to drive around a couple times to figure it out so that was kinda a hassle. I think they have their own parking structure but I guess there is also street parking. If you park in the structure then I do believe that they validate. The office is on the third floor, room 300. If you want to talk to a representative then you will have to wait for a while. The waiting area is kinda nice. When you get called in, you get to see were all of the local representatives handle business so I guess that is pretty cool too. read more

Geico undermined my 7/5/2018 loss so much so that the claim they paid was $721.13 but the true amount of damages were $3,157.61 by 3 body shops. There (the body shop) range was $3,100-$3,600. My car was deserving to be made whole and properly painted correctly. My confidence level is Geico is null. Tim Dayton and his minions need to learn how to make people whole. Customer satisfaction & feeling that you were treated fairly from a claim is so critical. I was made whole by a outside party responsible for the loss. However, GEICO underestimated my intelligences. Next time a lawyer will be involved. There home offices in Washington DC should take note. They didn't care. I had the last laugh knowing I was right and Geico played Candy Land with me by not affording a accurate loss payout. They gave me some hand money, wanted me to go away. Absolutely worst insurance company ever!!!! I had a flat tire and sat on the side of the road for well over an hour before a tow truck arrived. Once they got there, I was told that I had to pay for the tow up front and would be reimbursed at a later time. A few months past by and my girlfriend who also has Geico requested roadside assistance and 3 hours later, after being told that the ETA is 1 hour, still hasn't arrived. We just paid $102 for AAA. In 2016, while I was a college student, I was hit by an SUV from behind while I was riding a sisters moped. I suffered road rash, a concussion and bruising. The driver came out cursing and threatening me while I was on the ground covered in blood, claiming I "came out of nowhere". He later apologized and asked if I had a boyfriend or cousin who would come after him to beat him up for what he did to me. The ambulance suggested I go to the hospital but I couldn't afford the trip. The cops issued no tickets. The moped was obviously uninsured. The other driver has Geico. The driver's front bumper sustained damage due to the impact with my body and the moped. I declined to pay for a brand new bumper for this grifter due to the nature of the accident, additionally Hawaii is a no fault state which means everyone takes care of their own damages. Instead of doing this, the driver and Geico took this case to this collections agency. I was harassed by an anonymous phone number for days, it was so bad that I would cry every time the phone rang and I was afraid to leave the house. I was working as a hostess at a restaurant making minimum wage, a full time student with no family assistance, and was struggling to pay for my saimin and rent. No way I could afford this grown man's $1,200 bumper. Mind you he has a great job at a prominent resort on island. I sent a cease and desist letter. The harassment stopped and I assumed it was taken care of. I even had contact with Geico where they apologized. A year and a half later I was served court documents at work. I lost the case because the placement of the damages. There was a dent in front and on the side of the front bumper and PONO VENTURES argued that i rammed into the side of his car, which isn't even close to how this collision went. I owed collections $1800 instead of the original $1200 for just the bumper. I Instead of contacting me to COLLECT, like they were supposed to (as is the nature of their COLLECTIONS business) they decided to ignore my emails and garnish my wages. They have taken 25% of my already small income. I have had to leave my home and move in with my parents on the mainland. I have sold all my valuable belongings on Craigslist and if not for my parents I would be homeless. I just want everyone to know what kind of lying scummy company this is that represents aggressive money hungry maniacs and takes advantage of financially distressed victims. I have tried every avenue to get some sort of justice but now, I have already paid $1,600 of what I "owe" so monetary justice isn't an option anymore. At least I want someone to see this and understand the evil that exists on the beautiful island I can no longer call home. read more

Two days ago someone hit my vehicle. I am so pleased with the service they have provided thus far that I had to post a review before my vehicle gets picked up by a towing company in a few minutes. With children to shuttle to school etc my main concern was getting a rental so I can take my children to school etc....Unfortunately the accident happened in the late afternoon on a Saturday and by then the rentals were closed. I had to wait until Monday morning to pick up my rental from Enterprise but that was okay. Jason the Auto Damage Adjuster called while I was waiting for my rental to be cleaned came to my home within an hour and a half of speaking to him( he arrived about 1130 a.m.). He was great and provided excellent service. He forwarded my info to the towing department in Georgia to schedule a pick up and the company will be here in a few minutes( right now its 1:00p.m.). My 3 and 4 year old children were in the vehicle with me and Geico recommended I purchase new carseats for them which they will reimburse me once I send in the invoice. PLEASE!!!! Stay away from this company! I insured several cars over the years from them, but whem my 2011 Chrysler Concorde was totaled in an accident - they refused to pay (even though I have full coverage) because I had lent my car to my friend, and was parking it in her garage. She used it sporadically when she was in town. The accident happened on Nov 29, and on Dec 8th, I gave her the car (for free) signing the title over to her. Now GEICO says that I transferred ownership before the accident, so the car was not covered. I transferred ownership, according to them, because I intended to sell her the car, even though in my statement to GEICO, I made it perfectly clear that I always intended on retaining ownership of the car. Nonetheless, they are able to divine my intent, and to such an incredible degree of accuracy, that they can pinpoint a date (which they just pulled out of a hat). So I've paid my premiums faithfully, but when I park my car somewhere safe, they decide I've transferred ownership. Thanks, GEICO, for ruining Christmas!!! I only wish they had negative stars. I'm taking my Toyota away from GEICO, and all future cars will go somewhere else as well. read more

The police were called by the person who rear ended me, but he did not file a report because Hawaii is a no fault state and he said our insurance companies would just sort it out. He asked the person who hit me if she admitted fault and she took responsibility and agreed to pay damages in front of both me and the officer. We exchanged information and took pictures of damage to both my car and hers. Afterwards, Geico, her insurance company, reached out to me admitted fault on behalf of their client and agreed to pay damages and set up an appointment for an estimate of damages.I went to that appointment and and the Geico adjustor gave me a copy of the estimate report he made and had me set up an appointment for repairs. At first I was impressed with Geico and thought they had done a better job of taking care of me than my own insurance. I even thought about switching over, but after my insurance contacted them they denied their client was ever in an accident with me I no longer see Geico as a reputable business that can trusted to do what's right or keep their word. Regarding car insurance I go with GEICO due to the rates for coverage. I was with USAA for 20 years when a friend told me that GEICO was cheaper with same coverage. Recently my car was hit from behind and total loss. Called GEICO from the scene and started a claim. Called them back within 2 hours to complete my claims process and while I was on the phone with them Enterprise rent a car was calling me about picking me up to get my rental. (The rental I got was a 2017 Ford Hybrid ) Within 3 hours of the accident I had a claim submitted, had my rental car, and later that day the claims adjuster got back to me and told me he went to the tow yard and gave me the status of my car and when to expect the check. The customer service was awesome and they were right on everything immediately. Made me feel like I was their only client :). I would urge anyone with other car insurance to compare their rates and coverage with GEICO because when I made comparisons and called around even the other insurance agents were surprised with the rates for coverage offered. read more

If I could give them no stars, I absolutely would! My car was vandalized; cracked windshield, dented/scratched front bumper, and another scratch on back bumper. I met with an insurance adjuster who was filling in from out of state (since our kaua'i adjuster was on maternity leave). Little to my knowledge, the Hawaii SUPERVISOR, Bill Harwood, was also present at the time of my vehicles inspection. Who may I add, never introduced himself. HOW FUCKING UNPROFESSIONAL. After surveying my vehicle, I was told due to the placement of the damages, I would have to file 2 separate claims; one for the front end, and one for the back because the damages didn't relate to the scenario they came up with IN THEIR HEAD, of how the incident occurred! Ridiculous! Vandalism has no rhyme or reason, and for them to treat me and my situation as a joke is inexcusable! I am soooooo disappointed with these people and their customer service. I will NEVER recommend this insurance company and I plan to switch companies ASAP. read more

Geico sucks. I was basically rear ended by someone who drove through a stop sign, and Geico found me to be 100% liable. When I asked them if they went to the site of the accident to look around, they said no. When I asked them if they contacted the property management of the parking garage to see if video tapes were available, they said no. This is a thorough "investigation?" This is laziness and incompetence. It was basically my word against the other persons. They chose the other persons. Geico is supposed to work on my behalf, forcing the other person to prove their story. Instead, they questioned me the whole time and made like the burden of proof was on me! Total morons working over there. The damage to my $65,000 BMW was $400. The damage to the other person's POS 1988 Nissan was probably less than $200. The only reason I went to Geico for help instead of just throwing $200 bucks in the face of the retard that hit me and telling her to get lost was because it wasn't my fault! Geico picks the cases that are worth investing in and the ones like mine that are not worth their time they just pay the other person off and tell people like me to go f*** myself. Find someone else to insure you, you'll be happier when you need it. read more
