I have been going to Geiger's since I can remember. I grew up by the Lakewood location and we would go there for all of our sporting and outdoor needs. Since moving to the east side, this is still my place to go for camping, skiing/snowboarding, and just every day needs. The Chagrin Falls location doesn't carry as much as the Lakewood location but if they have it in Lakewood, they will have it sent over to Chagrin Falls for you to pick up at a later date. The entire staff at Geiger's is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and considerate. I highly recommend Geiger's for all your outdoor and clothing needs. read more

My wife and I found ourselves in Chagrin Falls for the weekend and checked Geiger's out while on a stroll one evening. Such a cool place. I'm a big fan of North Face, Patagonia and Kuhl and this place has it all! My wife got a new pair of ski pants that will never see a slope and I got a Patagonia sweater to wear to the office on cold days. Perfect shopping trip! (Shop-keepers? I've walked my wallet out of SO many places, just because you hired twenty-year-old deadbeats whose idea of "work" is standing around, waiting for their shift to end. Stop that practice.) Spendy? Sure, what with the location, and the extensive selection, and the name-brands. You kind of know what you're getting into when the first three product categories start with that dreaded word "Lifestyle." Show up on the slopes without head-to-toe Obermeyer? Not my little Catarina, Cooper and Madison! Very nicely-displayed merch. Prices are on par with Patagonia, North Face and all those other "expedition quality designed for sitting around Starbucks" lines. (They do have a few mark-downs, last season's stuff that no self-respecting trustafarian would wear, even to Snowmass during mid-week lift tix.) Adults. Working at a store. Everyone says support your local shops. Well Id rather spend extra money online and pay double shipping than deal with these people. Year after year they are unhelpful snobs who think their merchandise sells itself. The only exception is the older gentleman in the ski rentals area, who is a complete gem of a guy and belongs elsewhere. Will NEVER return ever! read more

My son and I went to the store not knowing what to expect and were most pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service. Kirk assisted us and we were there for over an hour and a half when we experienced the best service you can hope for in any business. He was most professional, considerate, patient and knowledgeable. Our son is an advanced level skier and knew what he wanted but came away amazed at how much quality of material and service was in this store. If you want ski gear, this is the place to go to. Geiger's is a jewel of a place to shop. It is a locally owned outdoor store. They carry top-of-the-line gear for skiing and outdoor sports. It's the only place in town that has a lot of Patagonia coats and clothing. It is the place to go for skis and helmets and all of the highest quality items for Ohio winters. read more

Moved to area a year before and had cruiser bike checked over in fall of 2013. I typically do the maintenance on my own bike but took it to Geigers to make sure I was not missing anything, plus I knew that the rear hub needed rebuilt and I wanted to stay clean. Two days (reasonable) and an $80 bill later for labor and parts to repair rear hub I thought I was good to go. Get back into traveling season, go on first couple of rides (pretty extensive - I use my Trek cruiser bike as my only transportation when I'm working and traveling in my RV and it has thousands of miles on it) and the thing starts making a popcorn sound like bearings are binding again, yet louder this time. Since I just had the rear replaced I assumed it was something in the bottom bracket this time and take it to the nearest bike shop. They tear it apart while I am waiting, they tell me that the rear hub was completely put together wrong. The bearing race was on backward and in the wrong position, and it was even short a ball bearing! Geigers did not know how to repack a simple coaster-brake cruiser rear end. Would I trust them with assembling a hydraulic mountain bike brake to hit Slickrock or Pikes Peak? If I had a death-wish. Bottom line; they have no idea what they are doing. Go somewhere else - anywhere else - for bike work. Also, from what I saw in their showroom , most Patagonia clothing is about $20 more than nearly anywhere else, too REI cant come to Ohio soon enough in my opinion! read more

Years after discovering Geiger's and becoming a loyal customer, I am still amazed by the customer service -- particularly in the ski shop.

Cool store, solid selection, but the guys upstairs are not very nice; especially, to people that are novice to snow sports. My wife was trying to buy second hand ski boots (they sell these regularly) and was treated poorly and brought to tears. The manager was very apologetic, but still a tough experience and it will be tough to go back. read more

They have a really knowledgable staff. They sell a lot of seasonal items as well as high end clothes. They definitely cater to the high end in Chagrin Falls. If you are looking for something ski or bike related they probablly have it. I agree with Kevin on the adult employee issue. Finally, get rid of all the kids who do nothing but text while you are paying them to work... ugh. And a lot of their employees have been there for awhile. So they are obviously well treated.
