I needed some trucks for my sons skateboard and didn't know a whole lot about the difference between a good and bad one until I went into West Side Skates. I learned so much about skateboards I could probably qualify as a consultant to novices out there. Really cool guy, he showed me several different types and instead of trying to sell me the most expensive one he suggested I purchase the one that will benefit my son the most with the type of boarding he does. The owner is a total asshole! We stood outside in the cold for 2 hours for the travis scott release and the owner runs up screaming at everybody in line saying hes only selling them to his loyal customers and called the police to make everybody go home. Do not support this moron read more

When we arrived the shop was clean and the owner, Lindsay, was quick to greet us. She set me up with the skates we had discussed, and after seeing my issue pulled another set of skates for me to try. She was very gracious in answering all of my questions, and swapped out the rink wheels on the skates I chose for a set of outdoor wheels in my favorite color at no charge. She chatted with me for a while after the transaction was complete and was really pleasant and informative. I will absolutely return to this shop when I'm ready for "big girl" skates, but for now I couldn't be happier with my Sure Grips. I can't wait to take them outside tomorrow!
