Ive here about 2 other times and had a pleasant experience. I did not get the name of the tech that helped me today but if I could identify her she has a couple of tattoos on her arms and on her fingers. I went in today and walked out a quarter way through my service because the tech was way too rough. She cut my nail and was way too rough with the drill. She burned my nail with the drill 3 times. She apologized the first time. I said no problem. She did it a second time. I said it's ok. Then she cut the skin under my nail. I asked her to please be careful. The 4th time I told her Thats enough. I no longer wished to continue my service. She pointed to the manager (maybe owner). I went to her and said, I was leaving because of the painful experience. She looked very apologetic and just said, "I'm so sorry." This may have been an isolated experience (I do want to add I have a high tolerance for pain and I've gotten my nails done my whole adult life) but I obviously will never comeback. read more

When you go to a cheapie place you often get burned. In my case, I had a set of acrylics that would not budge. I care in as a walk in, there was a little wait. (But I didn't make an appointment so that is to be expected) The staff is very friendly. I had one nail tech help with my pedicure, the other my mani. The removal of the acrylic set was intense! But the tech did an excellent job removing them and gave me a beautiful dip power manicure in their place. If you are looking for a relaxing experience, one where you feel pampered. Look no further. Unfortunately I will not be back. I came in for a gel pedi and gel x set, pedi was decent as to why I give it 2 stars. As far as my gel x set I was very disappointed. I love gel x, super easy to maintain and they last such a long time, i asked for medium coffin because they are already shaped, i just wanted the tip filed like there's no way of messing them up but i was wrong I got mismatched nails, some were tapered, some were coffin and others weren't even the size of my nails, and at least 3 are crooked. I've been coming to Helen's salon for a few months now and have had decent dip manicures and pedicures. After what happened today I will not return. Two weeks ago I made an appointment with Helen for this morning at 9:30. She repeatedly told me it's a holiday and not to be late. I was at her salon 5 minutes early and the doors were locked - they open at 10:00. I waited 20 minutes then called Helen. She told me I was not on her books but that someone would be there soon. I waited almost 35 minutes before anyone arrived. When the girls showed up they told me that Helen had a Dr. appt. and that she would not be in until 11:00. I asked the girls to go ahead and provide me with my scheduled services. The poor girl did my pedicure would not do my manicure. She WAS AFRAID TO DO THE MANICURE! She kept shaking her head no. Then she said she didn't want to mess up Helen's appointments. Helen wasn't there to provide the service at my scheduled time and this poor girl didn't want to do the work. She was AFRAID of Helen, the owner! No employee should ever be afraid of their employer. I called Helen and explained that because she wasn't here I wanted this other girl to do my manicure, thinking that would put the girl at ease. Helen said okay but the poor girl was now withdrawn and scared. It is clear now how Helen treats the girls that work in her shop and help to maintain her business. Her behavior was like a poor woman who experiences domestic abuse! I assure you Helen will never get another dime from me. I implore anyone reading this to stay away from this establishment, no worker should live in FEAR from her employer. read more

MOMS BEWARE! I came here with my very well behaved 7 year old daughter tonight to get a pedi for her b-day. She was excited all week to get her nails done with mommy. At 5 pm I walked in, asked if they had time to do us TOGETHER, and the "mean lady" said yes. They start a tub for me but NOT for my daughter. I ask about pricing for her with regular polish...the mean lady tries to tell me it's the same price as mine. Who charges the same price for a child? We've been getting our nails done together since she was 3, never have I been charged full price. The lady working on me, at this point realizes I'm turned off by it, talks in another language to the mean lady, then lowers the price by $5. So, 20 minutes into my pedi my daughter is still sitting patiently and quietly in her spa chair next to me, with her shoes/socks off, in a dry tub, looking super bummed out. The mean lady yells from across the salon that kids are not allowed to use the chair and they are not to even touch the remote. So at this point, I'm nearing the end of my pedi and I'm angry they've not even started her. I see A worker finally finish on someone else... meaning it should be my daughters turn. My daughter sits up ready to get her feet wet, but instead the worker walks past my daughter and starts on someone who walked in, way after us. I watched the happiness and excitement drain from my babies face as she slumped into the chair and got teary eyed. Unbelievable. I remained calm and quietly paid for my very unsatisfactory pedicure, and even left a tip for the girl who did my nails. It hurt me to do it though. I then walked out and took my daughter to a different salon. Gel nails lied to me just to get me to stay, claiming they would do us together and just figured on doing my daughter as fast as possible after me. Bad business! I came so we'd have the experience together. The other place I took her to, treated her like a little lady and like a paying customer. They charged me $9 less then Gel Nails and put a beautiful design on her toes, for free!!t's obvious this business is shady and not family friendly. They weren't welcoming at all. Seemed irritated I was there. The owner says she flagged my review for fabrication but I posted pics of my daughter on the verge of tears in their pedicure chair for all to see. I also put up a pic of my horrible pedi. There is also another review that's hidden, from another woman, who's daughter got treated the same way mine did. Helen did a perfect job with my nail shape and June took excellent care of my feet. I'm so glad to have stopped by here - I promise they will take good care of you. They seated me almost right away when I arrived and had someone working on my pedicure and manicure. Both were great services with clean work but Helen did an AMAZING job on my Gel X manicure. This was my first time getting Gel X and Helen worked quickly and was so kind. I absolutely loved the chrome color she put on it. I've never gone on the weekend but generally they have available appointments during the week. And they are taking COVID measure. Update: I lowered my rating because it's been less than a week since I've gotten my pedicure here and I have 3 ingrown toenails that are swollen, painful, and look like they're beginning to become infected. I had to drive back once I left cause my nails were super uneven and not straight and square like I requested. I decided to try it out again just cause the conscience of it being close to home. She proceeds with painting my nails and was upset I told her there were bubbles in the polish and she tried fixing them and it wasn't even painted properly. Very RUDE. Not even busy with only ME in the shop. She cut out my ingrown nail but the next day it became infected and throbbed. I witnessed some nail utensil fall on the floor and Helen picked it up, did not put it in disinfectant but just put it right on her tray to use--just before my pedicure. Also, I only received a very half-efforted, 30 sec foot & leg massage on what is universally, a HIGHLIGHT of getting a pedicure. Bottom line: DO NOT GO HERE!!! Meh. Just meh. I came at the suggestion of a neighbor on the Nextdoor app to get a SNS powder manicure. The ladies were nice but my manicure was not. First off powder manicure has limited colors. Second, it is my understanding that SNS powder manicure does not use any UV lights but they made me use it after they applied the top coat. Third, after leaving the salon my fingers started to burn. Bad! About an hour or so afterwards and burned for at least 12 hours. It finally subsided the next morning but suffice to say I will not be coming back to this salon. And I think I've been deterred from SNS powder manicures now too. read more
