Tried the Tiramisu soft serve, The cone was like 7.00. Was on a basic cone, wasn't asked which cone, would have preferred a sugar cone, served was an obscene amount of soft serve. As for tiramisu you expect something tiramisu like, no, it was just a tiramisu type flavor but nothing special, no texture, no coffee flavor, no ladyfingers, no shake of topping, just a lot of soft serve, too much in my book, I should have stayed with my original thought, which was a small cup. Just visited this establishment for the first time. I am shocked at the prices for two soft serve ice cream cones. I paid $24 for 2. This probably is the reason why there are no prices. Went to Gelina's today for ice cream. The gentleman behind the counter was by far, the nicest, most professional and kindest person I have ever encountered in retail sales. I discovered this spot via RI Food Fights, and since I live in PVD I would have never known it was here- but everyone else did! This seems like a local favorite as there was a solid line on a Monday night, but the line moved quickly and the girls working the window were SUPER friendly and awesome. There were several intriguing flavors, but I didn't want to hold up the line too much by trying them. I did try the Ultimate Peanut Butter Cup, which was peanut butter ice cream (I think?) with peanut butter swirls - it was really good, and if you like peanut butter, it's a good cause. But I was feeling the fruit flavors instead, and I liked that the blueberry had chunks of blueberry. I also asked one of the girls what her favorite was and she said black raspberry chip. I'm a huge black raspberry fan but didn't see it on the menu - that's because it's a "hard yogurt" (it masquerades like an ice cream but has less fat). Done! It was really good--could have fooled me on the ice cream front--and earned its top selling status. I'm happy to now know a great rendezvous spot in this area :) read more

The soft serve watermelon sherbet is so delicious however the portions have gotten smaller and smaller over the years with the price is increasing. I was charged a dollar for rainbow sprinkles today! I have never been charge that much at any place. I just always feel like I'm being ripped off. I'll go to udder delights down the street and get triple the amount for a better quality product and price. read more

After a long hiatus from this place I wanted to try to give it another review, generally I find second chances can show whole new colors and sometimes every business has a bad day. Unfortunately the service and product here is still appalling and I really can't recommend trying it. My last experience is below for reference, and really the second try wasn't any better, I recommend going elsewhere, I certainly won't be able to gumption up a third try! Previous review: So it's usually pretty hard to mess up ice cream, there are places that are best in class, then there's normal ice cream. Unfortunately there are just a handful of places that can manage to make ice cream unpleasant enough that I can't recommend visiting them. From small servings for normal prices to staff that take your order and go on break (but still remember to charge you). The wait was close to a half hour for a small ice cream cup and a shake, customer who came after us left with their ice cream before we got anything and perhaps worst of all my friends order was melting the whole time we waited. Another couple actually left due to how long the line was (mind you most people were getting there orders but VERY slowly). To top it off when they finally got to the order they forgot half of it so we had to wait a bit longer for that too. I don't often give out one star reviews, but I really can't recommend this place. If I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would. We came here to grab iced cream with some of our best friends. My husband ordered his milkshake and my ice cream cone, and then the counter worker left and then a girl came to take our friends ordered their ice cream. When the girl came back with our friends ice cream finished before ours, my husband waited until a couple of people passed and we still didn't have our ice cream. So once the line cleared he asked where was ours. The guy worker apparently left to go on break right after taking his order and didn't pass the word on to the other work. Making the wait extra long. These other people either don't have any patience or their friends eat way too fast (and also don't have any manners since they began eating without them.. where's the chivalry these days lol)... I've been going here for years and have loved every visit (maybe a few too many visits). They have every flavor you can dream! There's apple pie to pumpkin spice latte when the weather starts to chill down, strawberry and black cherry for those fruity people, and the ultimate fudgy, chocolaty delicious flavors for the people who really want to indulge. If they don't have what you want in hard ice cream, they can definitely hit that craving with their dozens of soft server ice cream flavors. Not to mention their banana splits are HUGE. They definitely don't skimp on anything, including the friendly smiles. It's appropriate that I write this review on the Fourth of July ... it's more than just ice cream here ... it's an honest-to-goodness slice of America! Yes, John Cougar Mellencamp could have been referring to this place when he sang "...ain't that America ..." in his 1983 hit song, "Little Pink Houses" (or, in Gelina's case, little pink picnic tables). While the traditional American experience is getting harder to find nowadays, it's still alive and well here, as I experienced on a sweltering Friday afternoon. I rode my motorcycle here on my way home from work, stopping for a chocolate soft-serve cone. A man who I presume was the owner was applying a fresh coat of pink paint to his picnic tables, perspiration pouring off his brow, literally putting sweat equity into his business - the American dream. I engaged in friendly conversation with him as I stood outside, licking my cone in a race against the heat. The local mail carrier drove up, delivered his mail and was then called back to the window, where a young woman handed him an ice cream cone, on the house. I thanked the mailman for his service. After I finished my ice cream cone, and was walking back to my Harley-Davidson, the owner wished me a good day, adding, "Be safe on that thing, bro!" Now, ain't that America? Seriously, this is one hardworking ice cream place - they are open much longer than most independently-owned ice cream stands, closing only in January and February. The ice cream is good - not the best I've ever had, but still very good, with plenty of flavors to choose from. Service has always been very friendly, and it's fun to watch the traffic and motorcycles go by as you enjoy your ice cream. read more

Staying power has to count for something. So I know they have been here for the two years I have been here. And they have promised to hold their prices to 2010 levels. It looks as though they really try to be a part of and support the community. Also, they serve lots of soft serve, so if you are a soft serve person, this is a place for you. They also do hard shell dip in lots of flavors which is good as well. I am not a soft person, so I went with one of their small selection of ice creams. The wife had a banana split (made with soft serve) and the daughter had a soft serve cone dipped in cherry. Suffice it to say that we will probably not be going back, but not because it was bad or anything. The ice cream is just not as good as Brickleys and the soft serve was just okay. Having worked at a place that specializes in it, I can tell you it was pumped full of too much air. This lets them stretch the product, it makes it light in your hand and melt incredibly fast. Also, it will not hold it's shape. All of these things happened to the ladies. But, I have to give them some credit for the selection and their staying power. Ice cream alone would only get them 2 stars. read more

This is a nice little ice cream stand that has a variety of flavors and styles of ice cream. They have nice sundaes and cabinets and ice cream floats. They do not have sugar free ice cream which is disappointing to me. And I have to say that as good as the ice cream is and as nice as the people are I hate sitting out there next to the road. I feel like with the traffic whizzing by that I'm going to get hit by a car at any moment. The ice cream was closer to a milkshake and the service was awful i find it not worth your time or money for such treatment.

Great selection of soft serve, not a large selection of hard ice cream. The other comment was pretty spot on so I won't say the same things over again, but it does melt quick! So far my goal is to try a new flavor every time we go... which means it may take a LONG time to try them all, but that's cool. The ice cream is not very creamy which is why I can't give this place more stars, but it is also not the other extreme of frosty, it's kind on in between. Overall I would recommend this place. One because there is no other options around here, but it's also just a few minutes from the house which is nice! They have enough seating for a crowd too, and the seating is OK. If a Mr.Sofetee truck every makes it's way here from NY I would forget this place existed, but that won't happen, so I'll keep going :) read more

I stopped by to try the Only 8 frozen yogurt. I don't know how this wonderful treat escaped me. There is only one flavor each week. They had black raspberry. This was lighter than average soft serve ice cream and very creamy and delicious. it is less sweet than regular ice cream. I found it to be absolute perfection! The ice cream at Gelina's is really good although it can be a bit pricey when buying for more than 1 person it's worth it. Gelina's icecream can be busy at times but that's a good sign for new people. If you live near it you should definitely try it, it's a good treat. They offer a variety of flavors and cones. Great little ice cream place down in Coventry. They have both soft serve and hard serve ice cream as well as slushes and Italian Ice and they were very reasonably priced. They also have one of the best ice cream flavors ever, Triple Peanut Butter. It is peanut butter ice cream with a double peanut swirl. If you love peanut butter, you have to try it.
