The fruit flavors are seasonal as they only use the freshest fruits in season. If you have food sensitivities there are tons to choose from without gluten or milk or nuts. Today I joined their gelato-making class with an epicurean tour group, and afterward we all got to taste their creations. The sorbetto al limone was bright, zesty, and incredibly refreshing -- pure sunshine. The mango was silky and bursting with tropical flavor. The coconut sorbetto was rich and creamy, like a tropical vacation in every delectable spoonful. The service is friendly, the vibe is fun ! My friend let me taste his gelato and it was the absolute star the Crocante Amarena. Dark, juicy cherries folded into velvety gelato, studded with crunchy almond pieces and ribbons of intense dark chocolate. The balance of flavors and textures is pure perfection. Everything was super creamy, intensely flavorful, and clearly made with passion and top-quality ingredients. If you're in Sorrento, do yourself a favor and come here. David Gelateria isn't just a gelateria -- it's a little piece of heaven. It is was started by his grandfather in 1957. The place is adorable, restroom is clean. Highly, highly recommended!

Then while eating my gelato at the table I heard her be rude to every customer that walk in. I ended up having to take the rest to go because I couldn't stand to sit there and listen to the worker treat every customer so poorly. It sounds like the problem is offering samples. I'd recommend posting a sign that either says to pay first or the number of samples allowed. This might ease the confusion and worker frustration.

They all tasted great! I liked the contrast between the hot/warm bread and the cold gelato, but I thought that brioche was a little dry- although maybe I'm just not much of a brioche person! Still, it was worth it just for the gelato. My friend and I sat outside to eat ours and as we were about to leave, the man who served us came out with a cup of strawberry, mango, and lemon flavors. He gave it to us for free saying "one more taste". Those flavors were all very good as well! He explained that he makes them himself. That man was just so sweet and friendly :)

There was another Gelato place very nearby with a huge line and no outdoor seating. Skip that place and come here.

It's located on the walking street which leads to Sorrento's Town Square and is well visited by tourists. We visited in October when the crowds were low. We walked right in, were created warmly by the staff, received some free samples, and ordered our gelato. We received it right then and enjoyed it - it was fantastic! Some of the other reviews indicated long waits, staff was not warm, etc. We did not see that as I suspect, we were there when it was not as busy. We really enjoyed it!

I'd go here every day and weigh a million pounds if I could. I was surprised there was no line here, but the servers were also fast. We had the Dubai Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. It was my first experience having the viral Dubai creation, and SO worth it! Flavors were incredible and we knew it was super creamy when it started to melt immediately. Even our AirBnB owner, Anita, said it was the best! Do not miss this one - you want to try the best!
