Fit my daughter and I in same day - her for a manicure, me for a pedicure. I question places that are small and have openings, but she was only home for an overnight stay and we were looking for a girl's date. What a weird and uncomfortable experience! First, the technician was having difficulty understanding that I was asking for glitter colors. I guess "sparkle" finally did it. She was getting frustrated. Next, the water was borderline cold. She used a dremel and actually burned me! When I said "ouch!" She then switched to a file. On my other foot, she caught me with the nail clippers. I got the impression the tools were not sanitized, (they did not come from a closed package) which is very concerning. I'm hoping for no infection. Every time she had to work on that nail afterward, it hurt. I don't have toenails on my big toes, they were removed years ago. I have had many pedicures and no technician has ever made a big deal over it. They skip over or ask if I want the area painted. Some just opt to do that. The technician said "Woah! What happened with that?! What I do with it??"' when she saw the first one, so I showed her the second one so it wasn't a surprise, too. Awkward. The scrub was decent, but the "massage" was whole lot of slapping my legs, which was odd. No callous removal. While this was happening, another patron asked "Aren't I supposed to get some lotion on my hands with a manicure? My hands are dry." A technician different from the one already working with her came over and apologized and told her she could come back another day for that. What?? While my nails were air drying, she was changing the plastic in the tub around my legs. I feel like maybe that could have waited? The technician was not gentle at all, and it definitely was not a relaxing or fun experience. I'm writing this as it's happening, I'll be curious to hear how it went for my daughter. **At the end of the appointment she told me her technician did acrylic nails when she asked for gel. She didn't know until he didn't cure them because the process is much the same. Would steer clear. read more

Dirty. Got fungus Dirty instruments. The technician Dug her own fingernails into my cuticles to push them back. I told her repeatedly not to do that and she still did. Instruments were not sanitized cold water for the cuticle soak. read more

We made an appointment for noon. We confirmed at 9:00 am. We showed up and they had taken two walk ins. My spouse was seated and they completed her entire pedi and moved her to the manicure tables before even starting me. I had already sat for almost an hour waiting. I had booked the extras for the pedi. They did a regular pedi. After two hours I was so done. The guy was in the back watching his phone and I could hear that plus the TV playing game shows. I told her I liked the length, she filed it down. She pushed my hands under the dryer and smudged the paint. I had to ask her twice to come back and then she just added paint over the almost dry nail which now looks bad. They were not busy at all. Only one person came in the whole two hours we were there. Disappointed - I went there for a pedicure and I brought my own gel base, gel color and gel top coat and they still charged me $15 additional on my pedicure for getting gel. I have no problem paying for the service I receive and the product I used however, in this case I was charged for a product of theirs I did not use. Yes they used their lamp but they would've had to use the dryer and all their product if I had got regular nail polish with no extra charge therefore this was a saving on their end as I did not use any of their product. They were not up front about this when I showed them I brought my own product otherwise I would've chosen a different product like regular polish instead. I am very disappointed in them. read more

Loved this nail salon! Very cute inside, great color choices, comfy chairs, super clean, and my nails look amazing! Got a mani-pedi with regular polish, and my nails were well shaped and prepared, and the polish is very neat and seems good quality. Would definitely go back. read more

While they may do a decent pedicure , I had an appointment and had to wait over 30 minutes with my feet in Luke warm water for them to even start, kept saying they would get there . Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where they respect your time and do the same job for a more reasonable price read more

Love love love this salon! They were gracious enough to squeeze me in last week for a full acrylic set with custom French tips. I have never gotten so many compliments on my nails! I believe her name was Julie - she was absolutely lovely and so thorough, making sure every little detail (shape, color) was what I wanted! I've been to Gelous a few times. I tried the dip the last time I went, and I really like it so far and they've really held up. I think I will probably stick with the dip. My only comment is that they didn't cut my cuticles with the tool, rather they used the drill to cut back my cuticles. Now my cuticles are all ragged and peely. If I go back, I will definitely ask if they can use the tool to cut back cuticles rather than the drill. My pedicure was great. read more

Came here looking to escape a case of the bummed out Fridays I was having and chose this salon based on the great reviews. I wasn't disappointed! I walked in without making an appointment and sat down at Julie's station fairly quickly. The salon is quiet, but busy and it's clear there are lots of regulars. The male techs do great jobs with nail art (from what I saw on Instagram) so I'd definitely be interested in doing something custom with one of them next time I visit. I was in the mood for a pick me up so I settled on a deep red shellac manicure with gold sparkles on my ring fingers. Julie worked fast and was gentle with my hands. My nails are perfectly shaped, the color is even and vibrant, and I was in and out in less than an hour. Super pleased with this impulse decision! And at $28 if you pay cash for a gel manicure? I went in for a gel pedicure. No communication about the length or shape of my toenails. They were already short.The technician cut my toenails soooo short they hurt. My big toes are super uneven. What really upset me was that she took out my disposable toe separators and put them back in a drawer to reuse. I just didn't feel it was clean, and it's only been a week and my gel polish is peeling off my toes already. Not to mention it was an extra $15 to apply it which I felt was high considering my so called spa pedicure was done in 1/2 hr. My massage consisted of maybe 2 minutes of each of my legs being punched. Not very relaxing. Should've just went with regular polish. $50 wasted. read more

I always get my acrylics done here but just because I've had good luck with this place but this last time they turned out awful. The next day when I woke up I realized all my nails where starting to lift and the next day one of them cracked. I had my nails done here a week and a half ago (powder dip). I was 6 minutes late and the owner was so rude to me, making me wait 45 minutes before he had a tech take me to a seat, I was then paired with a tech who took over 2 hours to do my nails, she did almost the entire appointment with a hand file instead of using the machine powered one and did my nails SO thin, too thin. I have had nails for a while now and have not broken one single one until this set, I have since broken two nails- for $55 and nearly three hours my nails should be phenomenal. I had called another salon in the area the day before to try to make an appointment but they called me back hours later and offered me a time that I'd told them I wasn't available. I found Gelous Nails on Yelp and called and they took me right away! I am a classical guitar player and have trouble with my own nails splitting and breaking. I need very, very trim nails on my left hand (fretting) and longer nails on my right hand (fingerprinting, plucking with the nail and fingertip). So I wanted acrylic nails on 1 hand, and I wanted them not too long and with no color. TD understood what I wanted and didn't make me feel odd about it! He did a great job. Came here for a pedicure and hardly came close. I feel badly saying that BC the staff was friendly and engaging but I paid $50 to get a pedicure with no massage involved and basically no lotion..... Does the $50 not cover that? Unfortunately I am leaving feeling robbed as opposed to relaxed. I shouldn't leave asking.... "should i go get another pedicure elsewhere?" I'm gelous of anyone out there currently getting a proper pedicure. So to anyone out there if you're in the mood to get lightly touched for $50 this is the spot. Something as simple as nail shape and a simple kids snowflake design on your nails they would not do because it's "too much." Really, if a customer is paying for it how's it too much? If you are looking for a nice french acrylics do not go to this place! Or to get your nails done in general. They cut me and they burned me with the nail dremmel after I had told them that it was burning me. Then I had to correct them when they put the wrong size nail and tried to play it off when it clearly did not fit. I did not get the shape of nail I was looking for along with them being crooked. There are air bubbles all through out my nails and when I told her that there was she tried to keep putting more clear coats on saying shiny. So now the nails are bumbly and extremely think and gooped on with all the top coats. Along with her not dusting my nails off either so there are white specks all in the clear part. When she asked if I liked them I said well there are bubbles all in them and she sprung up and yelled I can not deal with you. If I could give this place no stars I would. They have no customer service manners and did a shitty job on my nails. Which I know have to wear to a wedding this weekend. read more
