The best bagels by far,seriously not kidding. The service is awesome both warm and friendly. The golden milk is also a winner with your choice of milk. I had the happy hiker-and it made me very happy - it's a fresh bagel with hummus , avocado, green chiles and micro geeens. I may be back everyday during this trip. This is a great place to stop for some baked goods and decent coffee in the area. Good coffee is hard to come by, so this was my favorite spot in town. We had originally come in hopes to grab breakfast and coffee, but we were a little disappointed that no egg sandwiches were offered. I opted for the quiche, a latte and a salted brown butter chocolate chip cookie. Husband ordered a cheese danish. My quiche was good, but cold in the center. Really enjoyed the side of bagel with it. The bagels are super soft inside! The cookie was amaaaaazzzzing! All in all, great selection for baked good and coffee. Everything is fresh and homemade with delicious ingredients. Would pass on coming if we're looking for a hearty breakfast, but definitely will come again for coffee and baked goods. read more

Stopped here for brunch on the weekend but the line was down the Street, so decided to come back for a late lunch. Unfortunately they stopped making sandwiches at 3. They should really mention this on the website (just says they close at 4), as we wouldn't have bothered if we knew that. Adorable little bakery and cafe nestled in Maine. I stopped in on a Friday morning and ordered an iced mocha, breakfast quiche (pesto, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, tomato), and an iced caramel latte. It was hard not to order more as the bagels, nut butters, coffee, home made granola, fresh croissants, buttermilk scones and banana poppy bread filled the room with a fresh, comforting, hometown and savory scent. They also offer an array of local, organic, fair trade items - milk, eggs, baguettes, espresso beans, coffee beans, etc. This place is adorable and very special. Not only do the pastries look and taste incredible, but there are so many fresh delicious beverages to choose from! I have to mention, the espresso beans are ground fresh per drink order and the milk is from a local farm, which I particularly appreciated. The establishment is clean and well kept, and the employees are friendly, easy to talk to and professional. They offer pesto and jalapeño cream cheese (YUM!) and nut butter alternatives for our vegan friends (almond, sunflower, vegan butter, nutella, etc). I stopped by here after hearing about how good their gelato was from a friend of mine, So I had to get my fixing of gelato! I wad greeted by a really friendly and welcoming staff, they helped me pick out a flavor that was suitable to what I was looking for. I ended up going with Vanilla! You can never go wrong with this one, and I was far from wrong! It tasted oh so smooth, rich, and phenomenal, the portion was a small cup, and it is priced reasonably! I also liked the decor and vibe of this establishment, it has a nice warm inviting energy to it, and it looks like it is the study, hangout, coffee spot for a lot of locals in Bethel! We stopped by this place at the end of August during the late afternoon. This place surprisingly had AMAZING bagels for Maine. I'm a native from Long Island, NY. So I KNOW good bagels when I have them. We got an everything bagel with sunflower seeds, pepper, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and garlic. It was SO good with their vegan cream cheese. We absolutely love Dicocoa's. Almost every thing is home made. The bakery has some unique offerings. Today I had a rosemary and walnut biscotti with my delicious hot americano coffee. The have sip tops and no straws. I also bought a baguette to have with dinner. It was great! Would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. read more

The owner literally brought out their fresh pastries from her house next door. Its a very bohemian/yuppie kinda place where you see mostly in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco or The Village in New York. The place operate as a market, cafe and bakery. They claimed to sell very limited international and local produces and they serve mainly vegeterian meal. But the best here is their homemade fresh pastries... We tried their apple-cranberry pie and the apple-frangipan, they were divine even though you only get a very tiny piece for whopping $2.75 but worth it! This is also a cafe where most local comes in and out for their coffee and bakery. We came back the next morning for our breakfast, skipping the provided very pathetic breakfast from our Norseman Inn. We had the omelette, cheese bun and the spinach taco, again, very tasty even without any meat but they were a bit pricey... however, its very light and just perfect for breakfast. Sitting inside the cafe looking at people coming in and out in a cool, crisp morning with autumn leaves falling in front of the cafe, what else do you ask for more... So, anyone visiting Bethel in the near future should stop by here for coffee & pastry anytime of the day, then reserve a table by the patio for dinner at Sudbury Inn just 3 doors away! read more

I went to this restaurant to grab breakfast before heading on the road for a four hour drive back home. I waited in line for 15 minutes (understandably on a Sunday morning) to get to the counter and find out everything for breakfast was sold out. I ordered just a "large" iced coffee. She hands me my straw-less coffee and it's in a 16 oz cup which at every other coffee shop is normally a medium. At Starbucks or McDonald's the large is 20-22 oz. Their small must be served in a shot glass. I asked for a straw and she tells me they are currently out. "I just put an order in for paper straws but they aren't in yet". She then suggested I buy a metal one.... As I was leaving I noticed a hand written sign where the straws used to be "the turtles are happy we are out of straws". There was even a colorful picture of a turtle drawn on the sign which means they have been out of straws long enough to have time to draw a nice picture. I understand plastic straws are terrible for the ocean, but turtles aren't the ones keeping this restaurant in business. If you run out of paper straws run to a store and buy a few boxes of regular straws while the shipment is on order to keep your customers happy. I would not recommend this outrageous employee centric establishment. read more

Coffeeshop, cafe & purveyor healthy foods run by very friendly staff (so much so that a cynical urbanite friend of mine was somewhat nonplussed by the sunny attitude of one of the owner/operators). Amazing, amazing scones and bagels made fresh every morning. You have to get them in the morning or early afternoon as they will often sell out - especially as people like me will get 4 or 5 of them to go for later consumption at home. My parents often request that we bring Di Cocca products back to Massachusetts when we make the drive home. Nice outdoor & indoor seating. Lack of wifi and electrical outlets means the laptop toting zombies (like myself) will congregate down the street at the Mouse & Bean cafe which frees up seats here for people interested in the coffee, prepared foods & baked goods. Sad I've been coming to Sunday river forever but just found out about this place because the bagels are really good!! The place was a little swamped on a Sunday morning so our bagel order took awhile. But it's a cute little cafe. I got the New Yorker which is a solid sandwhich. It was pretty good. Would probably just get a regular bagel with cream cheese next time though. The actual cheddar bagel I had was so good. I do wish they had some type of egg breakfast sandwich. Coffee was good too. Didn't have any baked goods but the display looked good. Definitely will return because totally beats getting Dunkin bagels for breakfast on our drive back home. read more

This place was great! Came up to Bethel, ME for some away time from Boston. I had been here before but never in the winter so I wasn't looking for gelato then...but there it was. Beaming. Smiling. The bf and I went in, were met by a nice staff in a cozy cafe space. We got the raspberry rhubarb sorbet/gelato and the lemon mint gelato. I had been eyeing the hazelnut one as well but ended up going for the fresher more summery sorbet. We came back the next day in search of food for our hike. There's a "be nice to animals" sign (amongst many other signs about politeness and being nice) which was the first thing that tipped us off that this place is vegetarian. Not a problem since we didn't want bears on our heels (ah! Bears!). We opted for the tortellini salad, roasted spiced sweet potatoes and the mozz+tomato sandwich and a Greek sandwich featuring kalamata olives. Man! Those tomatoes were the juiciest tastiest tomatoes I've had in a long time! The sandwich combination was good overall and surprisingly substantial making for a nice lunch. To top it off grabbed a chocolate croissant and peach scone which were both excellent. Maybe it was the exhaustion talking, but I do know scones and it was good. read more

This cafe is amazing! My partner and I made a quick pit stop early in the morning before snowboarding at Sunday River. This place is a real gem!
