Adorable little bakery and cafe nestled in Maine. I stopped in on a Friday morning and ordered an iced mocha, breakfast quiche (pesto, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, tomato), and an iced caramel latte. It was hard not to order more as the bagels, nut butters, coffee, home made granola, fresh croissants, buttermilk scones and banana poppy bread filled the room with a fresh, comforting, hometown and savory scent. They also offer an array of local, organic, fair trade items - milk, eggs, baguettes, espresso beans, coffee beans, etc. This place is adorable and very special. Not only do the pastries look and taste incredible, but there are so many fresh delicious beverages to choose from! I have to mention, the espresso beans are ground fresh per drink order and the milk is from a local farm, which I particularly appreciated. The establishment is clean and well kept, and the employees are friendly, easy to talk to and professional. They offer pesto and jalapeño cream cheese (YUM!) and nut butter alternatives for our vegan friends (almond, sunflower, vegan butter, nutella, etc). The beverages range from fresh brew to cold brew, espresso, americano, latte, cappuccino, mocha, maple latte, house chai, golden milk, and steamed apple cider! A gem nestled in a small town - don't miss out!

    The limited "market" side!

Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Services: 3.5/5 Prices: $$ (avg 12/person) We stumbled upon this fantastic cafe while driving around checking out what Bethel has to offer... We found it, its Cafe Di Cocoa! The owner literally brought out their fresh pastries from her house next door. Its a very bohemian/yuppie kinda place where you see mostly in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco or The Village in New York. The place operate as a market, cafe and bakery. They claimed to sell very limited international and local produces and they serve mainly vegeterian meal. But the best here is their homemade fresh pastries... We tried their apple-cranberry pie and the apple-frangipan, they were divine even though you only get a very tiny piece for whopping $2.75 but worth it! This is also a cafe where most local comes in and out for their coffee and bakery. We came back the next morning for our breakfast, skipping the provided very pathetic breakfast from our Norseman Inn. We had the omelette, cheese bun and the spinach taco, again, very tasty even without any meat but they were a bit pricey... however, its very light and just perfect for breakfast. Sitting inside the cafe looking at people coming in and out in a cool, crisp morning with autumn leaves falling in front of the cafe, what else do you ask for more... So, anyone visiting Bethel in the near future should stop by here for coffee & pastry anytime of the day, then reserve a table by the patio for dinner at Sudbury Inn just 3 doors away!

The straw-less 16 oz large iced coffee

I went to this restaurant to grab breakfast before heading on the road for a four hour drive back home. I waited in line for 15 minutes (understandably on a Sunday morning) to get to the counter and find out everything for breakfast was sold out. I ordered just a "large" iced coffee. She hands me my straw-less coffee and it's in a 16 oz cup which at every other coffee shop is normally a medium. At Starbucks or McDonald's the large is 20-22 oz. Their small must be served in a shot glass. I asked for a straw and she tells me they are currently out. "I just put an order in for paper straws but they aren't in yet". She then suggested I buy a metal one.... As I was leaving I noticed a hand written sign where the straws used to be "the turtles are happy we are out of straws". There was even a colorful picture of a turtle drawn on the sign which means they have been out of straws long enough to have time to draw a nice picture. I understand plastic straws are terrible for the ocean, but turtles aren't the ones keeping this restaurant in business. If you run out of paper straws run to a store and buy a few boxes of regular straws while the shipment is on order to keep your customers happy. I would not recommend this outrageous employee centric establishment.

Coffeeshop, cafe & purveyor healthy foods run by very friendly staff (so much so that a cynical urbanite friend of mine was somewhat nonplussed by the sunny attitude of one of the owner/operators). Amazing, amazing scones and bagels made fresh every morning. You have to get them in the morning or early afternoon as they will often sell out - especially as people like me will get 4 or 5 of them to go for later consumption at home. My parents often request that we bring Di Cocca products back to Massachusetts when we make the drive home. Nice outdoor & indoor seating. Lack of wifi and electrical outlets means the laptop toting zombies (like myself) will congregate down the street at the Mouse & Bean cafe which frees up seats here for people interested in the coffee, prepared foods & baked goods. Homemade gelato in the summers & wonderful cider in the fall/winter.

I love this spot! Staff has been very friendly every time I go in and very fast, I love all their vegan options and their bread is to DIE for.

Very charming. Delicious bagels. Soft with a crusty outer layer. Limited bagel toppings. Owner is very sweet!

This bakery-café…read morehas quickly become one of my favorite destinations I'd happily drive hours just to visit again. The breads and pastries here are absolutely outstanding. Their Anadama bread was rich and flavorful, with a perfect crust and texture that kept me coming back for more, and the sourdough bagels were simply too good to pass up ; crisp outside, chewy inside, and full of character. Every bite feels like a celebration: flaky pastries, artisanal naturally leavened bread, and thoughtful flavor combinations that make it a true bakery destination. The coffee pairs beautifully with the baked goods -- and they even sell locally roasted coffee from a woman-owned roaster in nearby Greenwood, which adds a wonderful Maine-made touch to the experience. Service is warm and friendly, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes you want to sit down with a latte and savor every last bite. If you ever find yourself in Bethel, this gem of a bakery is absolutely worth the trip -- it's one of those places that leaves you already planning your next visit.

I wasn't expecting what we encountered once we got off our bikes in this parking lot..a human? The owner comes out and greeted us out in the parking lot? not the way a used car salesman does when they want to make a sale, but an honest love for people. I believe his name was Frankie but bad with names on low sleep while camping in the most remote woods in new England. In addition to Frankie, his co workers were seemingly just as high spirited and nice. Like i said not the cheap smiles and fake crap, this was different. We spoke in friendly conversations though-out our time there. This was a reminder that i desperately needed, humanity still exist. they were honestly some of the nicest people i have spoken too in an embarrassing long time. * The second best part was the burger! they served up in a timely manner and was hands down the best to date! I was annoying myself out loud saying damn this is good, grunting like a caveman and how i didn't want it to end!!! Haha no joke it was amazing! massive, fresh and well cooked. I was so upset we had to switch up our route on the way out of maine because i told him we would be back the next day for my birthday but wasn't able to make it. like i said, i dont care if no one reads this or if they think this is a fake review or whatever. everyone there that day made a hell of an impact and when i needed it the most. great food and wonderful people! I would be giving this a 1-star if it was purely based on the staff interaction alone. Tell me why the tween at the register closest to the entrance when we ordered a little after 10AM today is smiles for miles with me, but when my wife asks if they have lattes or flavored coffee, this girl gets short with her? Also we really need to drop calling women "ma'am." I have not met a woman that likes that. So when this tween says "no ma'am we don't" in an annoyed tone with her how do you think she took that? My wife is 26 for context- so why some girl that is probably only a few years younger thinks that is appropriate is beyond me- it even made her cry after the interaction. In all my years of customer service I have only called women "miss." So anyways- this girl was rude and she should learn that you have to treat all parties equally- man or woman, and let them ask questions without being rude. You are a cashier- that is part of the job. If the business cares to track this, I have attached a photo of the receipt for you so that you may tell this girl that sort of behavior, no matter how large or small the interaction, really put a damper on someone's day. Think before you speak.
