24000 BTU head in the living room

Hiram did a fantastic job installing 3 Mitsubishi mini splits into our home. He was able to give us solid recommendations based on our use cases (huge downstairs space, smaller upstairs spaces) and was very communicative and professional throughout the entire process. For instance, at one point during the install he realized a drain pipe needed to be run through an existing bedroom closet. There were 2 options with regards to how to install the pipe and he consulted me explaining the pros and cons of each before doing the work. I thought this was great as opposed to just doing the work one way and not telling us. It is extremely obvious that he cares about doing good work and ensuring the end result is something both he and the homeowner can be proud of. I would highly recommend Hiram and would definitely ask for his help again in the future!

Hiram is very fast to respond. I got 6 quotes for ac installation and his was the most reasonable. He was also the fastest to respond to every concern. He did a great job and installed 4 units here. He would answer my emails at most the next day when others could take days. The only problem/benefit is that he is not a big company with several employees. The benefit is that his prices are very competitive. The problem with that is that he does not have stock of the equipment so he is subject to supply issues and delays so we had to reschedule or initial appointment due to that. That is the only reason that I lowered my review as I really wanted the system installed in mid-May when I had guests coming and wanted it to be comfortable here, and due to supply delays we had the installation at the end of June. However it was installed just in time as the next day it was 90 outside and I posted a screenshot of the temperature outside and the thermometer in my office with the AC on at it's lowest fan setting where you couldn't hear a thing. Also due to bad insulation in my attic, my office tends to be 5 degrees warmer inside then outside. Instead thanks to the AC installation from Hiram it was 67. The AC installation is a project I've been thinking of doing for years and Hiram helped it become a reality.

I wound up getting the furnace to start so didn't need service. However, Gemini was very responsive!

We wanted to install a 1 or 2-zone system, but my condo has a number of unique complications, though, so we weren't able to go forward with the project at that time. Fast-forward a couple years, and we decided to revisit the idea. We also decided to go big or go home this time, with a 5-zone system for the whole house. This time we got estimates from two other companies first, but one provided an extremely high quote and the other basically said that we were asking an impossible job that they could not do. So we reached out to NETR again, and it worked out great. The NETR price was literally more than 10K less (!!!) than what we were quoted by the other company, and they took care of all the secondary project burdens like City of Somerville building permits, upgrading our electrical service, etc. They gave us a clear idea of what to expect in terms of construction disruption, the workers were friendly and unobtrusive, and they finished the work right on schedule. It's too early to speak with certainty about the quality of the system we installed, but we are thrilled to finally have this project complete, and are very satisfied with the pricing, service, and installation work.

We called because our central air shut down. A technician ( Eric) showed up and immediately figured out it was just a faulty capacitor. We were told it would cost about $ 600 to repair with a one year warranty but if we wanted a better capacitor with a 5 year warranty the cost would be about $850. I asked him why it was so expensive if its a simple job and the part is low cost and he mumbled something about overhead and the cost of doing bussiness. When we got the bill it was $979 with the diagnostic added in. Ive since looked up the going rate for this work and it runs around $150-$300 so we were charged triple the normal cost. I really feel like my wife and I were taken advantage of because we are both elderly. Please avoid this preadatory company at all costs.

Ryan was great, tried to keep my carpets/bathroom clean as much as possible and was patient in discussing my options and answering my questions. Surprisingly was able to get an appointment for install on Monday. Jared was also great. Definitely appreciate the small details and concerns to keep the carpet clean like hand carrying both the old and new water heater up 2 flights of stairs. Between the quick response/scheduling time, clean workmanship, and fine attention to detail, happy to say the leaking water heater experience felt less chaotic with 128's help! Total turnaround time, Friday 11pm to Monday 4pm hot water up and running!!

I called 128 Plumbing about one cracked drain pipe. I was told my entire house needed to be…read morerepiped. The estimate (#435094323) was $30,275 to demo every wall and ceiling necessary, disconnect first- and second-floor bathrooms, toilets and sinks, and replace the main stack. That was presented to me as the only option -- no alternatives, no phasing, nothing. And it did not include the roughly $6,000 I'd need to close the walls back up and reinstall fixtures, or the ~$400 roofer I'd have to hire and coordinate myself. Their own estimate puts the hole repair on the customer in writing. All in: nearly $37,000. Meanwhile my first-floor tenant was told she couldn't use her bathroom or her kitchen. When I hesitated at the number, I was told that at least if I sold the house I'd "have retail value." That's the line that made me stop and get a second opinion. Thompson Plumbing came out, found the actual leak -- old hubbed cast iron serving the kitchen -- and repiped it. $2,995. My final invoice was $3,420, and that included an unrelated frost-free silcock I added on. My toilet was fine. My kitchen sink was fine. My tenant's kitchen and bathroom were fine. Not one wall was demoed. Same house. Same leak. Ten percent of the price. I'm not going to speculate about why the two assessments were so far apart. I'll just say this: if 128 Plumbing tells you your house needs a $30,000 repipe, get a second quote before you sign anything. I nearly didn't, and it would have cost me thirty-three thousand dollars I did not need to spend.
