Gen 7, was a highlight of our visit to the Collina Resort. We sat for a personalized tasting, and enjoyed a focussed variety of wines that reflected the wine maker's attention to detail. The wines were crafted in a way that appealed to everyone in our group. The tasting room had a seating area that lulled us into a comfortable experience. We enjoyed the luxury of Gen 7 wines, bought some to bring home, and look forward to sharing them with friends. We stayed at the Meritage and checked out all of the tasting rooms on site. This one was by far our favorite ! We were the only 2 people there and the host was attentive and full of information. The wine..... that will speak for itself when you go there! We ordered a couple Of bottles to be shipped home and there was a little mishap with the delivery. I am happy to be the first to review this winery. Me and my husband stumbled on the winery at the new Village center in Napa across from the Meritage resort. Tim the winemaker/ owner greeted us and was very gracious in explaining the history of his story, legacy of his family in the wine business. His leap of faith has created a gem in Napa. Lauren was the hostess and Poured us some delicious wines everything from Cuvée, Rise, Blends and Ports... many varietals! You have to check the library/reserve wines such as the Cabernet Sauv - it was magical. Gen 7 welcoming storefront, warm hospitality and wines were delicious. Compared to the other big name wineries in The Village Center, Gen 7 definitely stood out from the rest! read more

The wines unfortunately were not good matches for us. The sparkling was too sweet and the Chardonnay was not buttery at all.

My sister and I went to Napa for a weekend. This was recommended to us so we decided to check it out. It is such a cute spot. The owner, Tim, was there and he introduced himself to everyone. He was so friendly and very enjoyable to speak to. He kept coming to make sure we were having a great time and enjoying our tasting which we were. He recommended his favorite wine and had recommended Road to Morocco. I don't drink red wine that much, just occasionally, but that wine I would recommend. It was so good. We had to get a bottle for when my sister and I have a ladies night. We will definitely be back here again. read more

Peggy is a kind person. After learning we were on our minimoon she gave us a free pour on our wine tasting. More importantly, I witnessed a couple show up to try a single pour (they didn't have time to do a whole tasting) and she poured each of them some sparkling wine and didn't charge them. My wife and I tasted here recently and were disappointed with the experience for several reasons: 1.The wines ranged from mediocre to downright bad. My tasting notes repeated the word Simple. Especially awful was their 2022 Noir de noir Red Blend dessert wine made from, believe it or not, Concord grapes, the same grape and the same sickly aroma of mass produced grape jelly. Even our pourer, who is reason 2 of our displeasure here, was pleasant enough but woefully uninformed on the wines she was pouring. She offered a hack for the Noir de noir: she suggested cutting it with a splash of their Contortionist rose. Even that didn't help. Reason 3 why we'll never return here is that they do not forgive the tasting fee with a purchase, unlike their neighbors only a minute or two away. My opinion is based on 30+ years of wine tasting experience from all wine producing areas on the planet, as well as sommelier training. The art displays were terrific, but if you appreciate fine wines, do not taste here. read more

If I hadn't accepted the coupon from the resort we would have missed a great experience on our honeymoon. We had one full flight and purchased another and every single selection was amazing. A company emailed me asking how it was and I couldn't begin to explain the wonderful time we had at the winery. We came here this past weekend with my husband and we were not happy. None of the wines taste good at all. Their tasting is $35 for a 5 red/white wines or $45 for just the red wine. You might as well go to V.Sattui instead. They have more variety and their wines are more tasty. It's pretty pricey and not to mention the lady who assisted us was not that friendly. She was attentive but she didn't make our experience a good one. We won't be coming back to this tasting room next time. read more

Out of all the wine tastings I've had Gen 7 hands down is the best. Lauren is passionate about the wine and the winery and it shows as she goes through her in depth explanations on the story and characteristics of each wine. My wife and I did 2 flights where we were able to sample everything from their Chardonnay to their Port wine and all were amazingly good. Would definitely recommend anyone that stays at the Meritage stop by for a tasting. read more

I stopped in when the village at Vista Collina first opened and met the owner Tim. I was first impressed by his passion, he tells great stories about how he is bringing back his family heritage of winemaking. Since then I have been back at least 5 times. At first my visits were for the stories and fun vibe but, with each visit I gain a deeper appreciation for the wines. They are all good , the fresh brute bubbly, fruit forward pinot to the rich old world bordeaux I enjoy them all. read more

This was our last winery on a busy day of wine tasting. I am so glad we were able to taste these amazing wines. Arguably the best of the day!!! We were able to meet the winemaker, Tim, who was very welcoming and enthusiastic which was reflected in the wine. We had an awesome host in Miguel, whose insight and knowledge of the wine we were tasting and the wine industry in general certainly enhanced our experience. The tasting room is decorated beautifully in nice warm colors with very unique art. As for the wine...it was hard to choose which one we liked best. My husband and I settled on Yielding from their Art Series which is a blend of Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. This was a hard choice in that ALL the wines we tasted were so rich and complex. My wife Laura and I had a great time at the Gen 7 tasting room. We went twice; the first time was good - we had their select tasting and was pleased enough. But we were very pleased the second time to the main wine tasting, which we felt was excellent. We also were educated by Tim the owner, who was not only entertaining but was intelligent and proved to be a talented winemaker. We are not experts, but we know good wine when we taste it and Gen 7 is in the running with the best! We had a reserved wine tasting at Beringer a couple of days later and was disappointed.
