We had such an amazing tasting experience at Bella Union. The property is adorned with an art deco style - think gold accents and rich jewel toned velvet upholstery. Gorgeous. The service was fabulous. Our server was so friendly-we really enjoyed chatting with him. He also gave us a personal tour of the property, showing us the art pieces commissioned specifically for the property, the special little decor touches chosen by the founders themselves, and the member lounge upstairs with gorgeous views. We signed up for the baseline seated tasting which included four wines and some snacks, which was $65 per person. But the ultimate experience was so much more than that, and tailored to our tastes. When we checked in, they offered us a glass of their blanc de blanc while we were waiting. I love starting out an experience with a glass of something sparkling. Once we were sat, we started out with their rose, which was light and fruity. We enjoyed it so much we took home two bottles! They also brought the snacks around the same time, which were almonds, spicy mixed olives, crackers, and a cheese dip. I very much appreciate they asked about food allergies and sensitivities when we arrived, as I'm lactose intolerant. The next three wines were red blends, as Bella Union is Far Niente's experimental arm in their family of wineries. And all of the wines are young because Bella Union opened just a few years ago. But we enjoyed them all, some more than others to suit our particular palates. But the cool thing is that they also offered us a Pinot and a Chardonnay after asking what wine we drink at home. This touch made the experience feel tailored to our tastes and was an unexpected surprise. Visited Bella Union because we're members of Far Niente and tried the Jewel Box experience. Bella Union is the youngest of the wineries of the group and most wines only have one or two vintages. They position themselves as trying to be different than the Napa establishment with their reds (mostly blends) and whites. Wines are good but really want to experience wines with some age to get a feeling of ageability of the new wines. Wasn't fond of the Jewel Box experience in part how it was curated and in part who was curating it. Not fond of wines pre-poured, really not fond of "try wines with whatever" approach rather than pairing with specific items. Food was very good and did enhance the wines but most came on plate and were really small bites (eg. Not enough to taste with 4 initial wines). Host was definitely try to appeal to younger GenZ audience. Seemed put off when we asked to try other wines and worse forgot we had add ons the experience. The Jewel Box space was nice but not super special. The saving grace was Marcus who brought a special pour, clearly had done his research on us as members and took really great care of us. My friend and I had a reservation at Bella Union Winery at around 1:45pm on a Friday. It was pretty slow and we were one of three parties at the time - we were poured a glass at the reception desk and led to one of the super comfy booths. The interior is open, spacious and brightly lit with a beautiful art deco vibe and plenty of windows, and Jonathan was friendly and invited us to explore the grounds and the upstairs members area as well. The tasting came with a side of crackers, olives and nuts, and we tried three wines in addition to the glass at reception. They offer very approachable, balanced and easy to drink wines, and while they were nice we didn't end up enjoying any particular wine enough to take one home. We really enjoyed the space and the fun, casual vibe of the tasting, and Jonathan let us know that wines are available by the glass or bottle as well - I think it'd definitely be a beautiful place to come by and spend some time with friends to chat over a few glasses or a bottle without needing a whole tasting experience as well! read more

Great new winery that opened up at the end of 2024. Gorgeous property with gold accents everywhere that make the place pop. Had such a good first experience during my Dec 2024 tasting, I had to sign up for their wine club. Everyone there is great but favorites by far are Jill & Win. I always get the curator selection which basically means you get to design your own private Napa wine tasting from their awesome choices. A small arrangement of snacks are also served with your tasting; the olives are amazing. They have some fabulous white blends, most around $50 a bottle but my go to choice is their Melange. Its crisp, fruity, and slightly acidic. Best part is as of April 2025, you also get free tastings at their sister properties Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel. read more

My favorite winery in Napa!! I came for a friend's birthday and it was a 10/10 experience from the start. We were greeted at the door with wine and we were seated promptly. I loved how the wine tasting came with snacks (crackers, cheese, olives and nuts) as most places don't do that. We chose 2 red wines and 2 white wines and we loved our host. I've been to this winery three times. It's new, modern, and beautifully designed with a chic Art Deco vibe; I'd hire the designer for my own home. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, with two distinct indoor spaces that add to the experience. Bella union has become one of my favorite wineries now. This winery is one of the newer wineries part of the Far Niente group. First off the winery itself is gorgeous as you walk in. You can see a beautiful courtyard that looks like a very nice spot to open some bottles and relax with a group. Once you step inside, it is demure yet elegant and classy without being pretentious. Our host of the day was Justin who was very personable without being overbearing. We learned a great deal about wines and the industry as well. We opted with the curated tasting which included a plate of snacks. The tasting started off with a white blend at the door which was very refreshing. My wife enjoyed the tasting of whites and i did the reds. All the wines were very approachable and delicious. I enjoyed them all but the standout for me was the cultivist. We've been members of Nickel & Nickel for about 6 years now and were excited to know they opened this new tasting room in between our most recent visits, so we made plans to visit here on this trip. What you might know about visiting Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel don't apply here - this tasting room is quite different. It still has that great service and offers amazing wine, but the vibe is completely different! Mostly catered to a slightly younger crowd, but still rather upscale. The décor was amazing, we really liked it! Service we got from the wine educators helping us was great as well. And the snacks they provided were absolutely INCREDIBLE! What a wonderful experience. Hospitality and the new winery was an absolute delight. Follow it up with spectacular cabernet. Even the white wines were great. Tiraud, Michelle and our other host who used to work mondavi forgot to get her name were wonderful. Bella union is part of nickel nickel and far niente. Heavy rain , so we arrived earlier than expected. Staff made us feel right at home. Started with a 2022 Bianco white blend. Which was delightful. Not usually a white wine person but this was Smooth very well balanced . crisp, refreshing. savingnon blanc and semillon blend. Even The pinot blanc was a surprise. very crisp, drinkable and delicious. Nice flavor profile. And i usually dont like whites. The star was the reds. We ended up taking home a bottle of the 2022 bella union cabernet savingnon and the 2022 liaison red blend napa valley which had some malbec in there. The cab was an absolute delight, great balance and flavors. Black currant, cherry, fruit forward and but super heavy. I would say very approachable for first timers. We finally had a chance to visit the new location for Bella Union wines (part of the Far Niente family of wines here in Napa). The architecture was much more modern than their sister properties (nickel & nickel, far niente), but had its own unique charm. We enjoyed the wine tasting with snack pairing, which featured 4 wines (pick your own adventure style) + a complimentary glass of the Bianco to start. The snacks ranged from olives to hand-cut veggie chips to nuts dusted with porcini mushrooms. It was a great pairing that didn't overpower the flavor of the wines. Our server (I can't remember his name unfortunately, but it might have been Victor?), was so kind and knowledgeable and made us feel right at home there. We learned a lot about the new property, how the different blends are made there, and what to expect from Bella in the future. It was a great time! We were extremely excited and is a highly anticipated winery opening for us. Located in the old barn of Provenance Winery, with the sister wineries such as Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel, our $125 Wine Experience made us felt nothing like a luxury experience. We walked past the hustling rooms and we were sat at the big conference room by ourselves. The issue is for the winery to find an identity. The $125 experience is !not good. If you are visiting Napa there are so many other experiences that is superior to this: thinking Cade, Quintessa, Larkmead, Del Dotto, Faust. If I were to recommend a tasting at Bella Union I would probably still recommend the "Social Hours at The Wren." Daily, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where people can pop in and buy wines by the glass or by the bottle and pair them with some snacks. Although speaking of snacks, they are grand fathered in to serve food but the food program seems to be still under development due to a bunch of issues. Not the best experience by far . read more

This winery is a vibe. They recently opened, so it's modern and cute. Based on my wine tasting experience, I recommend (from my favorite to least): 1) 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford, 2) 2022 La Gemma Red Blend, 3) 2022 Liaison Red Blend, and 4) 2022 Mélange White Blend. Ambiance of the winery is modern and wonderful. The wine was good, but the cabs/reds are not quite deserving of the price point. This was our first visit to Bella Union as a Nickle & Nickle wine club member. Upon arrival, the staff were very nice and extremely welcoming. Unfortunately, during the tasting it was disappointing. Service was way too slow which took the pizzaz away from the tasting. Jeffery was not paying attention to service. Trying to get his attention several times was difficult and when we did, it still took forever to get the next tasting, or it seems he may have forgotten. We had a spontaneous stop Saturday late afternoon with friends at Bella Union. What a treat it was! The newly renovated tasting space was beautiful. We were greeted by Jonathon Sanchez who understood immediately we were local, fun and excited to try this new spot. He was great giving each of us exactly what we were looking for yummy French white blend, Pinot and a delicious red blend. He was attentive to everything we needed, multiple tastes until it was the one!! He was great and also gave us space to enjoy the glasses. We were a fun table...., and we got a visit from another stellar host Ta' Rod Kenney aka tall dark & handsome! He was the best. A master of sales he gave a pretty intriguing pitch to join the wine club. He was funny and super entertaining. But also classy giving our man Jonathon all kudos! Long story short. This was our second vineyard of our tour and worked out beautifully on a fantastic day. This is the sister winery to Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel which are both top class wineries but also quite expensive. Bella Union is only a couple of months old, and you can tell based upon the gorgeous tasting rooms and patio. We were fortunate enough to have our tasting outside in a spacious patio area, and were surprised to see them provide us with some snacks to help with our tasting. These weren't just any snacks, the olives were legitimately some of the best I've ever had, and our wine server also agreed that they should be bottling and selling them.
