This was a strange situation. They were supposed to be at the house by 4.00 arriving after 4.30. I was expecting a van or a truck, instead a car with two young men, of whom neither spoke English arrived. They asked where the cleanout was, I showed them...they then called their boss so I could talk with him. They said the clean out was not plugged. I asked about snaking the toilet, I was told they would have to remove the toilet to snake it. I asked about putting it back together i.e. the wax ring? They had one that morning but they had already used it, so thank goodness we didn't do that. I said to tell me how much they wanted for the work they had done and I paid it...all this by telephone...I found it very unprofessional, and felt bad for the two young men. read more

Gabriel was a fair person to deal with. But upon set up of my gazebo the crew ruined some of my property and gazebo was pretty much damaged some of the points weren't bolted on fully. Not to mention some of the screws that were suppose to be bolted on the concrete weren't fully bolted to the ground or simply broken off. Dangerous if you have kits running around. They also left all their trash in the backyard. Beer cans, subway wrappers. Chinese food with food still inside. They took a few days and charged a fair price. Gabriel did replace my 200 chairs with 20 dollar ones from Home Depot. What a steal. So would I recommend this business, it's a no for me. read more

We needed a door replaced from the home into the garage. Partly because Gabriel was four hours late for his 10:00 am appointment I was not able to be there so my mother stayed. She is a senior citizen and did not think to check all his work. The deadbolt could not even be thrown because it's misaligned, there were hand prints in the paint on the trim, and the paint job on the garage side was sloppy. I called and texted multiple times over the course of a week to see if he would reschedule a time to fix his work but it seems like he got his money and he has no interest in making things right. He did a lousy job rehanging the door - poor craftsmanship, poor joints on the framing and they left a pile of mess for me to clean up. They couldn't even have put it in my trash can right next to the shed! Really? On February 12, 2021, I contracted Gabriel Mendoza, aka General Handyman Solutions (of Fairfield, CA), to work on my backyard fence and side gate, at the recommendation of my neighbor who "googled" fence work. I reviewed Mr. Mendoza's site prior to commencement of work, and the reviews were positive. I asked Mr. Mendoza if he was able to do the work based on the pictures; he assured me he could. However, after the second day of work, it was obvious he was not skilled to do the work. I asked him three times, and each time he told me he could do the work. Being frustrated that he was not understanding what I wanted done, I showed my brother, who is an engineer, and is also my handyman, several pictures of the work, and my brother knew he was doing everything wrong. I told Mr. Mendoza to work with my brother, but Mr. Mendoza didn't feel he needed his advice, and told my brother that because he's not the client, he would do it his way, because it's his warranty. On the fourth day, I knew this was a waste of time and money by keeping Mr. Mendoza on, so I terminated his service. Even after Mr. Mendoza no longer worked for me, my brother still had problems with the work he left behind, causing more money to be spent and additional labor for my brother. Mr. Mendoza did not research what was needed to complete this job, properly and cost-effectively. He lied about his ability to do the work from the beginning, and his work proved that. He's very sloppy and not mindful of the work conditions; leaving nails sticking out from the wood, and wood panels were cracked because of the wrong size nails used. If anyone asks me for my opinion of Mr. Mendoza's work and work ethics, I would definitely give him a "FAIL"!!! read more

I hired this company to install a fence after damage from the wind. Gabriel was confident his team could do the work and we signed a contract. The quality of work was subpar and it was obvious he was inexperienced with fence installation. He admitted as much half way through the project when we expressed our dissatisfaction. The contract was terminated part way through the project due to poor quality. Both parties agreed to terminate and he was paid for services completed. This company might be able to do basic handyman jobs (I do not know from experience). However, I DO NOT recommend this company for fence install or repair. read more

I had 2 estimates at $250 each and 1 at $449. Because it was located in a corner behind furniture, I didn't want to spend very much. The job took a little over an hour. He removed the drywall cutout that was there & added wood behind the wall to ensure the drywall was flush with the wall. He said it would not look right to mud the gap. OMG....I've never seen a guy so young worked so hard!!!! I bought 90 computer tables for my classrooms that both have 1 and 2 stories high.
