Not a great experience at the Ocala store. I have an RV that needs some minor bodywork. I called to come in for an estimate. When I got there, they informed me they going to charge me over $150 just to do the estimate. No work done to the coach, just $150 to tell me it is going to cost me $1500 when I have the work done. Bad experience. Purchased a new coach that has several issues (fleetwod) Don't even have it for two weeks and now on our second time of more than 2 days waiting (Ocala, Fl.) Service advisors do not relay to the techs accurately causing more delays. They have no parts and have to order them requiring a return and more waiting (we are full time, so we have to wait at the shop) Very sorry we have purchased a Fleetwood and secondly, purchased from a place where the service department doesn't really have it together. Now the Aquahot is leaking, we can't use the diesel side for heat, and, of course, they have to order the parts. read more

Drove an hour to look at a specific toy hauler, after the "check in process" got on the golf cart only to find out they did not have the Valor that we came to look at even though it was on their website. With all the 20 to 30 people standing, sitting, walking around drinking coffee you would think one of those employees could be updating the website ?? They are quick to get you into your RV and good luck after that. We purchased a new RV and had a protective coating applied per their recommendation. It is back for second time. This time was suppose to be back in a weeks time. Fast forward 3 weeks later. Can not get anyone to call us back. I had a very good experience purchasing from General RV in Ocala. I ordered an Alliance Delta 252RL during the Ocala RV show in March. Tyler (from Indiana) was my sales rep and kept me informed as we waited for it to be built and delivered to the dealer. Many thanks to him for customer awareness and following up. Once the unit arrived the dealership was patient with me and worked with my third party inspector. There were two options I had the dealer install and unfortunately when I went to pick it up on 6/18 it still needed the Maxair vent fan installed. I'm pretty easy going and told them I would just come back the next day. I arrived at 9am on 6/19 and was greeted warmly by everyone I met. Robert handled the walk through, explained everything and answered all my questions. I knocked off a star (almost 2) because the finance gentleman with the goatee was insultingly aggressive in trying to upsell all of the additional warranty packages. He seemed to be angry with me for saying no and I felt he considered me stupid for that. Like I said, I'm easy going but I almost walked out of his office. I won't mention his name but if anyone at General reads these reviews they can figure out who he is. I'm happy with my purchase and with General. Buyer beware of General RV of Ocala. For a family own business like they claim to be. You can't talk to the owner at all or everybody in corporate. You tell them a payment you don't want to go over but they do want they want. Pick out a camper and they ship it there and it was the wrong one. They say oh well. We know it was wrong because of different features. This camper has major issue and could have hurt someone and caught on fire. Awning fell not once but twice and the electric went out and shower leak into bedroom and tilt bed fell apart the list goes on and on. Brought it June of 024 and they had it for 4 months and manager call me up in October of 2024 said they are not working on it no more come get it. Fail three inspections and to this day still dealing with Forest River. The camper been leaking all this time and now have water demage. There workers made the camper worse and some of the stuff can't be fix. Took stuff out of camper never ask or gave permission. Broke my TV and bracket and the end of the bunkbed corner. They did replace the TV but that it. Smell sewer because they couldn't put in a toilet right. List goes on and on. Apparently they have new management because he call me because he saw my filed. Because the old management would not answer any Call or email and you call corporate there camp thing and they say can't talk to nobody higher. The new management call me on Monday October 13 and i told him I wanted to talk to someone higher and he said he would escalate it but have not heard from nobody. These people do not return calls. Once they get your money they are done with you. Repairs take forever. I do have to say that the receptionist is very kind and does all she can to get answers. I'm sorry that she has to work in such a toxic environment. If you do end up buying an RV from these crooked people don't get the extended warranty on anything from Gen RV. When you want to cancel you cannot get a call back from them. No matter how good they say the warrant is buy on elsewhere. I'm owed a lot of money and they won't call me back. I don't even know where to begin, this has been by far the worst experience and dishonest ethics I've ever encountered with a company. I'm beyond frustrated after numerous lies to the face straight from Frank the site manager whom also lied to the manufacture on the issues we're encountering with the unit they sold us. We spent Thanksgiving without water sitting in their lot due to the structure shifting when they moved it along with the the pump blowing and countless leaks in the tank. Their solution is silicone everything and "you're good to go!" Again my wife and I attempted to use General RV to purchase a new recreational vehicle in spite of our past experience. Thankfully we avoided another disaster as they attempted to sell us a beautiful Brinkley 3100z with a few issues. What bothered my wife and I was not the fact the Brinkley had an issue but that it was presented to us in this manner and not a care was given about it. Upon contacting Brinkley we were more than happy to see their customer service and warranty department DID care and gave us insight into how the presentation should've went. During the walk though (which they charge an arm and a leg for) there was sawdust on the floor still, AC vent component was missing, bedroom slide-out went in and out at an angle, and the shower was inoperable...later we discovered the shower was fine, the demonstrator did not know how to properly turn the shower on. read more

We purchased a 2024 Z3100 Brinkley 0743!! Our experience was nothing but positive we had some hickups but that is to be expected. I want to thank Robert our Salesperson, Jim our Finance guy you really made the process easier (we are from Maine purchased in Florida nightmare as Maine is stupid!). The service coordinator Nicole was very helpful, Maria in the parts/service department was great as well helping (she helped us get to Cracker Barrel for lunch!!) We are full timers so had lots to transfer over they parked our old unit next to new so we could do door to door transfer. A big shout out to Derrick for all his help he and the Operations manager switched our mattress over he also did so much more. Purchased a new T.T from them in 2022. came back for Extended warranty work to be done. 4 months to finish 3 small items, the service writer and management do not call or email back in a timely manner there is no communication to the customer. came to pick up on a Saturday came home to fine my propane line was not reinstalled but hanging loosely, underbelly panel torn, screws missing. they came to pick up my trailer from my house and now have my trailer and inform me of a tire damage and a slide will not work, when I never had any tire issues or slide issues. still no return call on the progress of the repairs they damaged. over pricing on Trailer tires. My new 5th wheel has been at General RV in Ocala for over two months for a repair to a broken weld in the wall by the super slide. General RV made the repair that they with Heartland to make the needed weld/repair. We went out west for a three month camping trip and around 1 month after the original repair was made, it opped out again while we were in Salt Lake City. Now, Ocala General RV and Heartland are into a urinating contest on who should make the re-repair and of course, I as the consumer are caught in the middle. Jodi is our service rep but she can only do so much. I spoke with the Ops Manager and the Asst Service Manager and all I hear is excuse after excuse. My expectations can not get any lower unless I grab a shovel and start gigging deeper to get even lower. My advise is to not buy from General RV nor buy a Heartland product. Do not take ANYTHING there for service. What is really sad is that I have never been so frustrated to have to write stuff on Social Media. read more

I bought a brand new entegra ethos 20 T camper van in June 2024. It began leaking right away from the cabinet behind the driver seat. I brought it back in for service multiple times and each time they said they could not reproduce the leak. Sometimes my van would be sitting there for weeks at a time with nobody even looking at it. No one would return my call so I would show up in person in order to get someone to speak with me about it. After multiple trips back-and-forth to the dealership, they said they finally found the leak and supposedly fixed it. I was told they would be replacing the cabinets that were water damaged, but in actuality, they only replaced the front face plate and in the meantime, damaged the surrounding material And applied a thick bead of caulk that did not match the finish on the cabinets among many other things too many to list. The van is still leaking. They did not resolve the issue. I cannot get anyone to return my calls. I've left messages with service manager general manager technicians. They lied on several occasions first blaming the manufacturer for delays which I know was not true as I contacted the manufacturer and they had no record of them even submitting a request for service. I would not recommend buying anything from this dealership. Once you give them your money and leave the parking lot, they couldn't care less about you or your vehicle. read more

After three weeks, the assistant manager, Will Perez took over our case and looked me in the eye and promised he would get to the bottom of the problem AND that he would communicate. He sent a text that day saying there was an electrical problem. Right, that's why we brought it in. Since then Will Perez has ghosted us. He will not return a text, email or phone call. The manufacturer has also told us that no new warranty work orders have been requested. They have had our rig five weeks and done nothing. We have to pick it up for an upcoming trip and travel with faulty electric again. Fingers crossed that nothing terrible happens. read more

Wish I'd read the reviews before we did business. We stopped on impulse on our way through Florida looking to upgrade our camper. Salesmen was knowledgeable, Mike S, the staff fawned all over us while showing us numerous units. When I left we had a deal for a unit for a $1,000 deposit and it would be $xYZ a month out the door. Said sure. Got back home. They ran my credit and then nothing. No one bothered to call me that the banks were fine approving me for the amount but not the monthly amount the dealership and I had agreed. At least not without another $11,000 down payment. I said no, that wasn't what we agreed and they would need to drop the unit price to make that difference. They said they couldn't. Ok, so I said I would not be going forward with the deal. They understood and said they'd refund me deposit. 3-5 business days. It's now day 8 and no one will return my calls. I've left numerous voicemails. Their service on the back end after they make a sale is atrocious. And I'm in a completely different state; I can't pop by Ocala. All they have to do is reverse the payment they took very easily. I liked their selection of units but they seem shady. I wouldn't do business with them again in any state. Update: the manager reached out and assured me the money would be returned. We purchased a class A motorhome in 2020 and the purchase went smoothly until after everything was signed and payment was made, since then we have had nothing but problems with warranty work and regular repairs! Their lack of getting back to customers, the wait time after scheduled appointments, is nothing short of terrible! We had another experience yesterday by having a 9:30 appointment and they never even looked at it until 3:00! This is the type of experience we have had time after time with this company in Florida and in Michigan! I Wish I could leave a "0" rating! We drove 8+ hours to deal with this location and put a deposit on a motorhome before we left. Although our sales consultant was great, the motorhome was "sold" by another salesperson due to a cash offer on our sales consultants day off. We were never contacted until after the fact by the sales manager (Tom P.), who was rude and covering his tail since the fact that there was a contract on the unit already. No chance we would ever buy from General RV, or recommend them to anyone else. We have called the General RV corporate office and also, since we have followed Matt from Matt's RV Reviews for quite some time and took the trek to General RV in Ocala because of his videos, we tried to contact Matt back, as we spoke to him by phone on the day of contract signing. We have not heard back from anyone. Funny thing is, when the cash deal fell through, they had the nerve to call to see if we were still interested. Find a local family RV dealership to deal with and stay away from the likes of General, and other dealership chains, they are all the same, promises, promises, promises, with no true ethics in the sales realm. Do not purchase a camper from this dealer. I bought brand new with the hope I would only have minor kinks to work out but far from it. They delivered it and I noticed water in the bedroom, the new camper window leaked. Told me they had to order window and they would call back when they received it. I never got the call. I called and called about the window and awning that needed to be replaced. My floor became soft throughout the entire camper. When I called and told them my floor has been compromised they said they knew nothing about the window being ordered and said they would call me back. Never heard from them. I had to call corporate to get them to fix it. They finally came and got it, kept it for almost 7 months, dropped it off to me the day before the hurricane hit and when I got it back the air didn't work and did before they took it. When I called about the air they told me I had to pay because it was out of warranty. They kept my camper 3/4 of the warranty. I have to pay for something they did,makes no sense. Corporate said they offered me discounted parts but was offered from dealer to buy an extended warranty for 4000.00. I still have to find someone to fix the air and paid 40,000.00 for this. Poor customer service, poor service department, poor management. The more I talk to others about this the more I'm learning I'm far from the only one that has had this happen to them with General RV. read more

This place is an absolute JOKE!! We attended a RV show in Jacksonville in February 2021. We placed a $5,000 deposit on a 5th wheel that was needing to be manufactured. Two days after placing the order we had a major family event happen so we called the finance manager and explained that we would not have the ability to continue on with the order. We asked for a refund and were told it was non refundable. I have never seen a contract that didn't have a cool off period.
