Unreasonable office to deal with...they cancel appointments if you are stuck in traffic and then charge you for a missed appointment. Sent us to collections after cancelling a check that said "final payment" with a letter disputing the charge and payment for the fair charges. Lost 2 patients over $50...pretty desperate to rob people. Sad excuse for a practice that should be reputable. Even their receptionist agreed with me that what they did was awful. She's probably fired! Avoid them. They'll do it to anyone, I'm sure. read more

I am disgusted with Dr. Ring and her former Dr. Peterson. When Dr. Peterson performed my root canal it ended up taking 5 hours because she kept having to go to other patients. Well forward a year or so later and that crown was not installed correctly. As a matter of fact all 3 crowns that she and Dr. Ring have installed after root canals have come out. This should not happen. I believe they did it on purpose to get more money from me to do two bridges to fix the two wholes in my mouth. Now, they are billing me months later for a tooth extraction an additional $78.50 after already paying them over $140.00 to extract my tooth. I had a tooth extracted years ago without insurance for less than $100.00. They are scam artists there and I will never allow them to touch my mouth again. All they are about is money, so if you value your teeth, do not patronize this facility. read more

The office is really nice. Two thumbs up on facilities. Staff is super friendly and helpful. But wowzers, the wait. I was there for over an hour and a half, for a basic cleaning. My wait was equal to if not longer than my cleaning. My guess: case of too many patients at one time. For what it's worth, I was apologized to several times because of the wait. Not a huge deal, but when trying to get in and out during a lunch hour to get back to work...puts a kink in things. read more

Both my husband and I have been patients for over 15 years and have decided to find another dentist due to a number of issues. While the office and building that Dr Julie Ring and her husband Dr Daniel Ring (dermatologist) own and share is beautiful, it comes at a price - and that price is she has not invested in her practice. Things came to light when I decided to use our insurance benefits and get Invisalign braces. This system is based on technology and computerized treatment plan resulting from the initial work up. Dr Ring has not invested in the equipment to do the 3d scan of the mouth but rather relied on outdated sloppy "slime" molds to make the initial impressions. After approximately 8 attempts, they finally called quits and sent up the 3 best with the statement "let them figure it out" and "they almost always reject them, and if they do, we'll do this all over again in 3 weeks!". With the Invisalign machine scan it is 100% accurate and results and treatment plan are normally back electronically within days. This forms the basis for the entire treatment, so accuracy is important. The other problem I ran into was that their office manager, also named Julie, who wanted the full payment (my portion as well as the insurance portion ) immediately upfront for the treatment. They are an in network Delta Dental provider and according to the supervisor at Dental, they cannot do that. Their office kept changing the price (higher than the in network price) as well as what would be included in that price (e.g. work up, retainers, etc) It became a moving target on what amount the total treatment cost would be. I finally asked that they do a pre authorization, even though my insurance did not require it. Believe it or not, the office manager of some years did not know how to sign on and electronically submit it, rather wanted to rely on "snail mail" . I insisted she learn to sign on to Delta Dental and speed up the process, which she finally did. The pre-authorization clearly states price, and what would be included as an in network provider. As it stood, what their practice is that the patient to pay the full amount AS WELL as what they would collect from the insurance company. (they had been submitting those my snail mail too!) Unbelievable. And we have one of the best coverage plans for dental too! This also was discussed with Delta Dental supervisors who supported my understanding of our coverage and the program and who made numerous attempts to explain to Dr Ring's office, but somehow Julie's office kept getting things "twisted". (to their advantage) This was brought to the attention of first the office manager, Julie C and then Dr Julie Ring who's response was "oh well", and "that she had a building to pay for" . Definitely not the answer I wanted to hear! At best, their approach and skills with Invisalign, in my opinion, is incompetent. Their handling of patient billing and cost is not in keeping with in being a network provider. I was required to pay $ 500 up front for their sloppy work up, requested a refund since they were unable to provide the service as implied, and denied a refund by Dr Ring. Moving my case to an orthodontist and loosing that "work up" was the best move one can make. As it turned out, it is also cheaper. I strongly suggest that one use a orthodontist (who has the skills to customize a treatment plan) or at least a dentist who is willing to invest in the equipment to do the Invisalgn program if you are considering this program. As to their office, it is a beautiful (and expensive ) building. There is an amazing fish tank in the waiting room, as well as a coffee bar, play area, and things to entertain you if you need that. Remember, it comes at a price. Do you want your dentist to have the equipment to properly do their service or a fish tank to look at? Regarding their staff, Karen, the front desk personnel is professional and amazing! We have been happy with the dental hygienist who have done regular cleanings and do good work. Know your insurance benefits and watch and what they are charging upfront! read more

My husband, son, and I have been patients of Dr. Ring's for two years and we have had nothing but excellent experiences at this office. The care is outstanding, the staff is competent and courteous, and we are always in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They've even accommodated my husband at the last minute when he chipped the same tooth on two separate occasions (he now has a crown to keep this from happening). In addition, the facilities are very upscale and nice. Super clean, lots of natural light, and nicely appointed. I recommend this dental practice wholeheartedly. read more

Dr Julie Ring is amazing!!! She takes care of my two kids, my husband and me. She has done fillings, crowns, General well check ups. All has been great. I had two appointments with Dr. Ring a few years ago. At the consultation (after a long wait), it was determined that I had my very first cavity. I returned a week later to have it filled. First, the numbing medication was not given enough time to take effect before she began drilling. Dr. Ring hit a nerve, but kept drilling anyway despite my pain. After it happened again, I asked them to stop and more numbing medication was administered. Dr. Ring's bedside manner was horrible - she was clearly annoyed at having to administer more numbing medication, and left me sitting for over thirty minutes before returning. She injected so much the second time that I was numb for the remainder of the day from my lower eye all of the way to my ear. After the filling, she did not check my bite or shave down the filling. It felt as though I was chewing on a rock for weeks. Worst of all, though, there was no understanding despite my fear or pain. I ended up not returning to a dentist for two years because it was such a poor experience. I am only writing this now because I just had a filling done elsewhere, and it was such a positive experience that it highlighted just how awful it really was at Generation Dental. My husband and I used to go to Dr. Julie Ring in this practice. I didn't think there was much to review. She pretty much did our checkups, cleaned our teeth and that was it. Now I'm searching for a new dentist closer to home / work, and realize the horrors that could have been. So I wanted to post a positive review for those considering this practice. Dr. Ring and her staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. The office was beautiful and well kept. Parking was easy and the place easy to find. No one never tried to push any kind of procedure or cosmetic stuff onto us. The cleanings were painless and done by an assistant. The appointments were kept on time, and the wait was hardly anything. Rescheduling was easy. All in all a very positive experience. read more

After an initial consultation, I returned to Dr. Julie Ring's office for the extraction of 2 teeth on 5/16/2014. This was by far the worst dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Ring's beside manner and her level of professionalism were below subpar. The planned extraction was uneventful; and Dr. Ring decided she also needed to also extract my wisdom tooth due to a cavity which I was never informed of during consultation which was just a couple of weeks before. She had to use the maximum amount of local anesthetic and I still was experiencing excruciating pain. She was unable to extract the wisdom tooth and began to aggressively pull the tooth and break it off piece-by-piece, which elevated my pain level even higher. After completing the extraction, Dr. Ring left the room and never returned despite my clearly visible high-level of discomfort and hysteric crying. Upon leaving the office, I informed the receptionist of situation and asked to speak with Dr. Ring. Dr. Ring again was conveniently unavailable. My pain had reached an unbearable level and I was bleeding heavily from my mouth. I had no choice but to go to the local emergency room to receive care. I went to this office because my Dentist, Dr. Janelle Peterson, works for Dr. Ring. I had been there exactly to the day one year prior. When confirming my appointment I was not told that my dentist would not be present. I made it clear to the receptionist that I was only coming in for a cleaning and nothing more. I inquired as to the price snf i was told $100 for a cleaning with $7 off if I paid by check. I have never had a cavity in my life nor braces. I am lucky that way and I am told my teeth are not 99.9 percentile of the country for good teeth. Once there they tried to force me to have X-Rays plus have my teeth examined by Dr. Ring who is not my Dentist. By law they cannot clean my teeth if it's been over a year. This was exactly to the day one year. Not more not less.. one year. They kept pushing and pushing me until I got out of the chair and called my Dentist on her cell who told the hygienist just to clean my teeth. The hygienist refused to listen so I asked to talk to Dr. Ring. Dr. Ring advised me that it was my choice since it was not over a year but I was to be aware that I assumed the risk. I was fine with that as I have never had a single issue in 57 years with my mouth or teeth. Had I yielded and had the X-Rays and exam it would have more than tripled my bill to over $300. The hygienist was the same gal who had cleaned my teeth a year prior and she was very knowledgeable and pleasant. It took all of 35 minutes to clean my teeth. When I went to pay I was told that even though I was paying by check that Dr. Ring told the receptionist specifically that I was not to receive my $7 paying by check discount. I thought this was most nickel, dime cheesy, rude, dishonest, cheap, BAIT AND SWITCH behavior unbecoming of a professional that I had ever experienced in my life. Dr. Ring was actually trying to penalize me for not spending more money which is my right by trying to punish me and taking away her pay by check discount. After I called this BAIT AND SWITCH they finally relented. Shame on a Dentist, a professional, who makes multiple hundred thousands of dollars a year be that money grubbing, rude, and bottom dollar driven. Some of us are on budgets. To try to force services on someone who clearly doesn't want or need them by trying to instill fear or panic is close to crimminal. read more
