First was from the…read morePatient Account Specialist and she did help explain the new charges but was still unwilling to give me an appointment until I gave them a "reservation fee" of $120. She said my crown was there but I could not get it until I paid her for a reservation. While I did have the money, I was unwilling to pay to make an appointment. I think their policy of paying to make an appointment is ridiculous and unheard of. There are simply way too many dentists in Eureka to have to abide by such a draconian policy. The second call I received was from the Office Manager, and she did seem to care about my frustrations and did agree to a payment plan to address the additional (hidden/uninformed) charges. She also lowered the reservation fee from $120 to $100. She explained the reservation fee would be applied towards my procedure; that they employ this concept on longer procedures to help ensure patients show up for their appointments. Although I emphatically disagree with the reservation fee concept, I did pay it (crown hostage fee) so I could make an appointment. Personally, I think Eureka Dental Group should adopt a no-show policy in line with other doctors that charge a no-show fee rather than charging a reservation fee. A couple of days later I received a call from Dr. Wehrmeister. He indicated it was his day off and he was calling because his Office Manager had informed him of my concerns and he wanted to try an address them. Dr. Wehrmeister seemed to genuinely care about my issues with Eureka Dental Group and I was impressed he took the time to call me on his day off to talk thru my recent experiences. After about a 20-minute conversation I felt comfortable Eureka Dental Group valued me as a patient and cared for my satisfaction, despite their unwillingness to concede the reservation fee policy. I went on about my day and received a second call from Dr. Wehrmeister about 15-minutes following our previous conversation. To my surprise, Dr. Wehrmeister said he talked with his Office Manager and they felt the fair thing to do was to pick-up my out of pocket increase that was not communicated to me until after the fact. This was one of my biggest concerns/complaints and I feel they have adequately addressed this concern. Likewise, I am changing my review from 1-star to 4-stars and will give EDG another opportunity to retain my business. Thank you, Dr. Wehrmeister and Eureka Dental Group Team!!

Then they overcharge you and won't return your calls when you complain. I had to file a unfair business practice complaint with delta dental before they talked to me and even then they still didn't refund me what was clearly their fault. If you must go here for dental work, make sure to get in writing that all your dental work will be covered by insurance as you expect before they do it, even if it was covered the last time you visited.

A few minutes after 8, a very pleasant technician took a whole-mouth x-ray and showed me to an examination room. I sat in the side chair for 50 minutes as staff members passed back and forth past the doorway. I was not approached by anyone who offered an update or explanation. I walked out, stopping at the front desk to let the chap there know I was going and that my insurance was NOT to be billed for the x-ray. While that remains to be seen, I will not be back.

At this new practice it always feels rushed and the treatment reflects that. I've basically begged for help for a year over multiple appointments to deal with teeth pain and bad taste I had around implants. Multiple x rays were taken across two trips from what I recall, and kept being told I was all good. Eventually I had to assume they didn't know what they were talking about or just didn't want to deal with it so I went out for other opinions because they just wouldn't help me get to the cause. And this wasn't severe pain and I wasn't looking for pain treatment, I just wanted to fix the tooth and get rid of the taste I knew wasn't right. After seeing another dentist, an oral surgeon, and a prosthodontist I can assure you there was a lot wrong for quite awhile. Some of these other dentist have much nicer x rays and technology but they said even with older machines it should have been clear. But because I had waited too long to see them I am now looking at implant removal, maybe two of them, and then bone grafts to rebuild and then hopefully a reinstall of implant(s). I'm seeing multiple specialist because some want to pull one implant and some want to pull both because of how bad it got. Then I have to explain I haven't been ignoring my teeth, have been going in for cleaning every 6 months, and have specifically brought up there area in question for over a year and for some reason, the dental professional I put my faith and money into, steered me completely wrong and then wouldn't even return my calls since all this. Don't worry though I paid that last bill you were able to send even though my calls and voicemails were ignored. Do yourself a favor, protect your teeth and your own wellbeing and see someone who has the time, skills, and technology to get yourself treated correctly.

Since I had a full exam within the last 3 years, my insurance wouldn't cover it fully and it cost me $118 for the visit. I'm not upset about this because it makes sense that as a new patient, I would need to establish care and get a full examination. Just make sure to check with your insurance if they will cover a full exam so there aren't any surprises. I only had to wait 10 minutes before being called back by the dental hygienist. She was very kind and explained everything before she did it. She had a soft hand as well. When she was done with my cleaning, I didn't have to wait long to be seen by the doctor. As a patient with minimal dental issues, I had zero complaints about my appointment as a new patient.

Then she led me to the room were she took more ex rays and cleaned my teeth. She polished my teeth and introduced me to the dentist. The dentist was very nice as was everyone else. He looked over my teeth. He made a few more assessments. He complimented my teeth and said he will see mee in 6 months. I was very impressed with all of the staff. They were exceptional.
