I Bought a used 2013 Nissan Altama from Generation Kia in Bohemia. The sales department were very nice and treated me with respect. After I had the vehicle for 2 1/2 months it starting stalling on me. I bought it to the service department and a gentleman named Anthony took care of me. Anthony gave me a loner car while they were trying to figure out what was wrong. It took a couple of days but they figured it. Avoid this location at all costs. My fiancée blew out a tire on her Kia, and this location was the closest one to get towed to (she bought the car from the Smithtown dealership, which is infinitely better than this place). When we called Kia, they said it should take about a day to change the tire. This happened on a Monday, so we were expecting it to be done by Tuesday. So we call in the afternoon on Tuesday, and after being put on hold for about 15 minutes, an incredibly rude receptionist answered. We asked her if the car was ready. She said (again, very rudely) "Have you gotten a call about it?" We said no, and she cut us off saying if you haven't gotten a call then it's not ready, and hung up. This woman was so unprofessional it's astounding. So two more days go by and we still haven't heard anything. We call again on Thursday trying to get an update. Turns out they never even started doing anything! The car sat at Kia for 4 days with nobody working on it, and all it needed was a tire changed. It should not take almost a full week to just get a new tire. I don't blame the service side because it seems they didn't even know about it. I blame the receptionists for their unprofessional and incompetent conduct. If you have a Kia or are looking to get one, go to the Smithtown location or somewhere else. read more

NO STARS!! This was the worst experience I have EVER had when dealing with purchasing/leasing a car! This would have been my third lease if it wasn't for the horrible customer service and sales department at THIS location. It has been a ridiculous run around for TWO DAYS with them- back and forth with pricing. I gave my sales person ( Ill be nice and leave out names) a fixed price of what I was willing to pay, which was decent because of the price of the car and my credit ( great credit with large amount down) They proceeded to come back to me with a price of $599/ month for a 39 month LEASE! They said I would need $10,000 down to get into the price point I was looking for ($350). Are you out of your mind!? A lease? For a KIA? Last time I checked KIA was not Mercedes. They continued to go back and forth to the "dealer" to try and get the price down ( Mind you, I'm LEASING the car, so I don't know what this back and forth negotiation B.S. was for a LEASE. thats not the way it EVER goes) After about 3 hours of crap I decided to leave, it was then that the sales person chases me down to my car outside stating that they yelled at their boss to give me the price and that they would give it to me...(I mean, really?) I went back inside put the large deposit down, and hoped to pick up my car the next day only to be phoned by the sales person the next day to inform me that the bank would only release the car to me for about $100 more than the price that was formally agreed upon. I want my money back! I mean, seriously ridiculous at this point. It was stated to me that my money will not be returned for an entire WEEK due to processing. Not the way to do business at all. After many calls and ranting and raving I still have not been able to reach anyone regarding the confirmation number for my refund. Mind you, today I went to the FORD dealer ( car I really wanted anyway) and got the car which was about $4,000 more expensive for the same price that I was willing to pay for the KIA. I got a "yes" on the car in about one hour, paperwork done and all! When Ive leased through HONDA, it was always the same EASY experience as well. NEVER. go here. Save yourself the frustration. To quote one of the reviewers on this page "They need to make 0 stars an option". For, I echo this sentiment and I am not surprised that they have overall garnered only 2 stars on this platform. Many of the 1 star reviews mentioned their dishonesty and I have experienced that first hand recently; Seven months ago I received an email offering me to get into a new lease and that they would pay the remaining payments of my current lease. They supposedly looked up the account and had me sign a paper agreeing that they would pay the remaining 3 months of the lease and a deal was struck. Three weeks ago, I got a collection call from Kia Finance advising me that I owe them money because there are 3 more months left on the previous lease. After trying to get someone to call me back with an answer for 3 whole weeks on the phone, the receptionist who by then knew my name and complaint, took pity on me and told them that I would be coming in. Once I finally got to speak with the finance manager, he told me that they cannot go back on a past deal and that they would not pay the remaining payments, which for some reason according to them they did not see. Furthermore, I should have been aware of my own contract in the first place to know that it was for 39 months and not 36. Shouldn't they have known that as well since they are the one who drew said contract in the first place? Notwithstanding, I take part of the blame, as ignorance is not an excuse. Consequently, I asked them to meet me half way and foot half of bill which they agreed, with a proviso that I sign a disclosure affirming that I will not write any negative review about them or seek legal action. Needless to say that I was totally appalled by this request which to my estimation is an admission of guilt. How dare any one try to suppress someone constitutional right with a paltry sum? I naturally declined their insulting offer and left. I will make the payment as I do not want this fiasco to mess up my credit. This is my 3rd car and last car with Generation Kia for, I vow never to go there again, let alone buy a Kia. I also vow to warn friends and family or anyone wiling to listen never to do business with them. For dishonesty reigns in that place. There are so many egregious things that happened with that deal and my last interaction with them, but I will refrain from mentioning them since this review is already overlong. I bought a car on Tuesday and 5 minutes after driving off of the lot 2 lights came on. I brought it back Wednesday morning to service and after 1.5 hours of waiting they said everything was fixed, we plugged your tire there was a hole (in a car I purchased 1 day before). I got in the car - nothing was fixed. I went back in and they said oh bring it to VW we don't know how to do that it's confusing and your tire light will go off when you drive. Hours of driving that day and the tire light consistently stayed on. I brought it back Thursday morning and after 2 hours they said there's nothing wrong it's the weather. I said it's not the weather I have owned a car before I know when you drive for hours the tire light would go off from the cold. They told me no no it's the weather. I ended up bringing it to my mechanic on the way home and he told me the service department didn't reset the computer sensors after taking the tire off the day previously. He also said this was "service 101" and that they must be idiots. Took my mechanic 2 minutes and it was done. Absolute crap, the service department should probably get some better training so nobody else has to waste 4 hours in service the 2 days after buying a car. read more

I was pre approved for a Capital One loan at a great rate. They told me they deal with Capital one but lesson to be learned! Do NOT sign anything and give NO deposits until you know exactly what you are buying (like get the vin number) Tried to sell me a Kia Soul base model as a plus - tried to get a 'better' rate for me thru 5 other lenders because Capital One does NOT deal with them! Which they only told me when I tried to get my deposit back! Complete run around - waste of time - bait and switch. It was a nightmare. Went to Smithtown Kia and bought my car in 15 minutes - Cap One, True Car price - no hassels no surprises - it was the complete opposite of this dealer. Questionable business practice, I used cars.com to have dealers place offers on the Jeep that I was selling. Generation Kia offered the best price, I accepted their online offer and set up an appointment to speak to a sales manager. Upon speaking with one of the managers, they ended up offering a price that was 40% less than the offer that I accepted from their dealership online. I understand that dealerships need to make a profit on used car sales, but it is completely unnecessary to try and deceive prospective customers by offering misleading deals. read more

It started out great with JC walking up to the door and offering coffee and making you feel comfortable. I came to pick up my order from a online car leasing app called Fair. All papers were e-signed so I'm just suppose to walk in show my insurance and DL. Walk out with the keys!! Well, this didnt happen!!! He had me sign the same paper which I was told later by FAIR may cause trouble when registering my car. So its 2 hrs later he provides the delivery service which walks around the car and shows me the cool things about the car...but before he goes walks me out he tells me " I'll show you the booty car" I waa suprises by his comment and I had to reply ..."listen this is whata in my budget and I want to spend". We are inside now and he shows me the seat warmer...the button is not depressing on the passenger side....he just tries to convince me it does not have passenger side seat warmer???!!!....He pretends to take to service and they he tries to tells me the service department also concur it does not have it. The car sticker and the manual both confirm it does...I was shocked!!! He greeted me in a way which made me feel immediately comfortable, and proceeded to listen to my needs, wants, and concerns very earnestly. Upon letting him know what I was looking for he made a perfect match right off the bat, and was kind and courteous through the entire sales process, even during the times I let him know that I may be looking at other options. Caveat emptor - Lease Agreements! In February 2017 I turned in my 2015 Kia Optima for a new 2016 Optima. The salesman, Scott Yeager, and the Finance Department at Generation Kia in Bohemia explicitly agreed that any and all remaining lease payments due on my 2015 lease would be paid in full. To date, I have received threatening letters from Kia Finance and a collection agency that the dealer shorted the lease payments due by one month. As the consumer, I am stuck in the middle. I have returned to the dealership 3 times; they shake their heads and tell me it will be taken care of. However, they have done nothing to rectify their mistake and my good credit hangs in the balance. According to the collection agency, this happens all the time. I am currently on the phone with Kia after calling at 915 am and being told I was going to receive a call back and never did so I called again and now I've been on hold for 15 mins. I've never gotten the run around this much in my life !!!! They sold me a car used without checking if the brakes were good. I took it I for the second oil change and they told me I needed brakes how is that even possible !??! Every review is bad on here about this dealership. I wish I would've know before I went in. I bought a used car from " Generation Kia bohemia" in Long Island NY. April 27th 2019. By the time I bought used car " Nissan Pathfinder 2012" I took loan from bank of America "$10,445.00" the loan paper I signed at the time of purchase shown amount as I mentioned earlier. When I received my first bank statement I saw an amount of " $11,885.00" I did call bank and get the information they told me that you tood extended warranty at the time of purchase. which I never did I have a proof which I signed at the time of purchase. Bank told me that they have two different contracts under my name one which I signed. Another one which has extended warranty which they signed electronically and I wasn't aware of that. Now its been three months I'm having trouble to get my refund of "$1086.00" and I'm paying interest on the amount which I never borrowed. read more

Went in for my inspection. The service tech told me that it wouldn't pass with the window tints on, meanwhile I purchased the car last year with them already on the car. They said they had to remove them in order to pass the inspection (You don't, that part of a NYS inspection is visual only) which should have been only the front two windows either way. However, they removed all 4 interior window tints, scratched the glass of the windows, scratched my vehicles interior next to the windows, and left glue residue all over the windows and my car. I am extremely disappointed with this service and the counter tech lying to my face as if I am unaware how these things work. He also tried to tell me the laws were changed after I purchased my vehicle in December 2018, which is also a lie because as I told him the law was put into effect in January of 2017 which was nearly two years before I purchased the vehicle from Generation. The only reason I even bring my car there is because when I purchased it I was told I get free oil changes for two years & inspection for life (another lie because there was over $2,000 charged into my financing for an oil change package that I didn't notice until after the papers were signed.) I had a great sales team! My experience with Generation Kia was amazing!!! Alex was my salesman and he did an amazing job and never broke a sweat!!! David in the finance department was amazing as well! He took his time with me and we listened to music during the paperwork part and for me that was great! Who doesn't like some freestyle when buying your brand new car :) This dealership let me take the car I was interested in to my mechanic not once but twice! What's better than that?! The owner and manager both made sure all my needs were met. My biggest concern was making sure there was safety for my disabled sister. I make my sister a priority and so did Generation Kia! Now about the dealership I give it 5 stars first off its crazy clean in the used car and new car showroom and their lounge area is open and nice. I dealt with a woman named McKenzie who sits up front for my actual purchase. She was very good non hassling laid back and showed me multiple cars again because I hate spending money. The car I wanted was a 2014 is350 which was almost sold but she let me know she would keep me posted. The person flaked and she pit me in it with the finance woman. I don't remember her name but she sits in the glass office and she gets 5 stars. She doesn't hasslee at all and she kept helping me work down my rate to get where I was comfortable. They also beat out the warranty company I lined up by $1850 so ingot 5 years bumper to bumper 125k for $1850 less than I almost opted for. The last thing is on the new car side the first day I went in I dealt with a big dude ex military but nice guy he was helping out on used cars. He got me to come back and stick with Generation Kia. The dude was down to earth again no hassle and he had me sold on a rare 2012 buick gs turbo 6 speed. That was until the IS350. If I had to go new he would get my cobtract. I dealt with Mike Lotierzo in purchasing my new Kia Sportage and I can't say enough how pleasantly surprised I was by his helpfulness and willingness to go above and beyond answering any and ALL of my questions. He even caught a mistake made by my insurance and contacted them and took care of it before I even knew it happened. All of her needs were addressed and satisfied as she is in her 70's and needed a vehicle that was user friendly. The salesman Nick was wonderful as well. Sometimes you buy a car from a dealer and you have the refreshing feeling like you are not dealing with all the worst stereotypes of a car dealership. You see the sales and finance reps are all working together to help you out. They can conduct a transaction in a reasonable amount of time and get you out on on your way feeling good about your car purchase. If you want that good feeling, you won't find it at Generation Kia. I would describe this dealership as understaffed and not on my side. They were stabbing each other in the back in front of customers. I can only imagine what they do to the customers. Actually, I don't have to imagine. I've bought quite a few cars. Never has it taken as long as it did at this place. The people I was dealing with disappeared for long stretches and started handling other customers without concluding my business. I traded in my old car and accidentally left my E-Z Pass and some important family things in it. After several calls and emails, including sending them a shipping label, I ultimately got no response from the sales rep. Finally I spoke with the sales manager Scott who promised to get right back to me about my E-ZPass. According to him, it happens all the time and they keep track of the E-Zpasses for their customers. But guess what? Crickets. I'm done trying to reach you slippery bozos. They don't care about ongoing customer relationships at this shady operation. My E-Z Pass is now being used by someone else. They sold me a 2013 optima and said that because my credit wasn't great, I owned my own business and 2 houses that the interest rate would be 23% but in 3 month I would have no problem refinancing through the same company. Over a year and a half later come to find out they don't do refinance! I am disgusted that they looked me right in the face and lied and now I find out my car has a recall for an engine problem. The car can shut off at high speed!!! I am finding this out 3 days before I am driving almost 6hrs to Penn State University. The letter states this is the second letter but I never received the first one! Don't you think something as serious as the engine shutting off someone would have called? AWEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Drove 2hours and 30minutes only to find out that the truck I was coming to see had been sold the day before. I was contacted by their internet sales department regarding a truck that I saw online. She advised me that it was still available and suggested that I make an appointment to come see the vehicle in the event it gets sold that I would be notified. I made an appointment for the following morning. Upon arriving at the dealership there was no one to greet me. I waiting about 10min before being acknowledged. Finally, a salesperson asked if I was being helped and I was told that someone would be with me shortly. Another 10min goes by and the same salesman, on their way to do something, notices that I'm still sitting there, hurries back and asks someone to help me. So after a 2hour and 30minute commute (in traffic) and a 20min wait, I'm told that the car was sold yesterday. They had no good reason as to why I wasn't notified before driving out other than the internet sales person is new and probably didn't put my appointment in correctly and it wasn't my fault so don't take it out on me. Take your money and business elsewhere. Buying a car isn't an inexpensive process - requires time and money. If they don't respect your time, think twice about giving them your hard earned money. read more
