I truly don't have enough words to express my gratitude for Dr. Shashoua. He literally saved my…read morelife and has continued to go above and beyond for what has been a very complicated and emotional journey with stage 4 endometriosis and infertility. I first met Dr. Shashoua after a failed embryo transfer that left me septic, internally bleeding, and in critical condition. I was so sick that I didn't fully understand what was happening -- I was truly dying. Dr. Shashoua stepped in with the urgency, skill, and calm confidence that only an exceptional surgeon can bring. He performed the emergency operation that saved my life, and I will forever be grateful. After stabilizing me, he did something that shows how deeply he cares about his patients: he referred me to a far better fertility doctor because he knew I needed more specialized and attentive care than I had previously received. That referral changed everything for my fertility journey. A few months later, he performed my endometriosis excision surgery and removed my tubes. These were major, life-altering procedures, and he approached every decision with precision, empathy, and extraordinary expertise. I now see him regularly to monitor and manage my endometriosis and infertility, and he continues to provide the highest level of care. What sets him apart is how closely he works hand-in-hand with my fertility doctor, ensuring that every aspect of my treatment is coordinated. My case is extremely complex and often overwhelming, but he has never once made me feel like a burden. He treats me with compassion, respect, and true dedication. If you have endometriosis, fertility challenges, pelvic pain, or any complicated gynecologic or urologic condition, Dr. Shashoua is the doctor you want in your corner. He is an extraordinary surgeon, an exceptional physician, and someone who genuinely cares about his patients' lives and futures. I owe him mine.

I immediately did a ct scan, urine cytology, and full blood work up at st Mary's. They were great and the results ruled out upper urinary organs leaving only lower urinary organs as a possible cause of my possible cancer diagnosis. Previous prostate cancer recurring was also ruled out as my psa was .02 and ct showed normal size. All that's left to check for cancer is my urethra and bladder. I am high risk for every category for bladder cancer and just need a 10 minute cystoscopy to verify I have bladder cancer but these people want me to wait 9 weeks for the procedure because they're booked up solid until then. Well, cancer doesn't wait 9 weeks and I won't either. I was able to get in with another urologist at another competing urology office 4 weeks from now. The 9 week wait could possibly be the difference between treatable cancer, losing my bladder and prostate, or worse case being terminal. They don't answer phones easily, they don't return calls at all, and they lie lie lie. Do no harm to patients is not in their vocabulary in my opinion. If you want to make me wait 9 weeks for a 10 minute test that will confirm cancer when you have the ability to squeeze me in as a priority patient then shame on you. Just my experience with this money hungry business that should be ashamed to call themselves medical practitioners.

I explained that the operation was scheduled in 2.5 days The office gal told me that she checked with the doctor and it would be fine. A few days after the operation . I had a high fever, Terrible chills and was unable to stand Or walk. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital where I was admitted and was diagnosed with a UTI and Sepsis., After I was released from the hospital I went to dr Vellos for post opp follow up. I told him I thought I still had a UTI and requested a urine test. He refused. During the office visit, I was told by Dr. that i never had bladder cancer or cancer cells. What I had was unusual cells. Two days later I had a urine test and it was determined that I still had the uti. I was put on antibiotics for 10 more days. I still have no urinary control and can't walk five months after being released at the hospital. I canceled my one month check up with doctor Vellos.
