Here's the back story: I had been at this Pep Boys twice before with no problem - once for tires and once for spark plugs. I have a 2011 Honda Pilot. On April 18 I made an appointment for two oil leaks, the "VTEC Solenoid" and valve cover gasket. Showed up at 9 a.m. as planned to drop off the car. Talked to the guy up front, explained that I was there for two oil leak repairs. He ordered the parts on the phone. Said it would be a five hour job once they get the parts. Not a cheap job - well over $1,000. He said car would probably be ready mid-afternoon. I said I'm not staying and will come back. Here's where things started to go weird. About a half out later I get an email from Pep Boys stating "Let's Reschedule Your Appointment." I thought 'That's strange' but didn't worry about it. And, went home. Around 1pm I thought it would be a good idea to go back to Pep Boys. When I got there around 1:30 sat down in the waiting room. The same manager who I talked to in the morning is running back and forth from the garage to the front desk. We make eye contact. Around 3 pm I'm thinking what's up with the car. I look in the work area and my car is not there. Maybe it's finished I think. I circle around the building, however, and my car is still parked in the same spot outside where I left it in the morning. Curious, I go inside and speak to the same manager again. I ask what's up with the car? He says they are still waiting for one part. Wow. They never called me on my cell to inform me there was a delay in getting a part. He never said a word when spotting me in the waiting room. It's now almost 3pm and even if they get the part, if it's really a five hour job, there's no way it's going to get done that day. He must realize that too but says nothing. Now the place was very busy doing tires and whatever else. I can understand juggling things can be difficult. Maybe they were so busy they didn't have time to handle the oil leak job. If that's the case, just tell me in the morning or at some point. But not to say anything is really rude and unprofessional. I basically wasted my whole day and left with two oil leaks unrepaired (one near the alternator which was the bigger problem). Did I yet at the manager? No. I felt sorry for him. Just asked for my keys and left. Do not go there unless it is an emergency.

So I brought the bike back to brooklyn and to Edgewares. The owner of the shop stopped what he was doing to come take a cursory look. When the battery was fizzing he knew there was a bigger issue so instead of promising a quick turn around he said he wanted to find the real problem but it could take time, and he'd follow up with an estimate. I appreciated the quick review and honest timeline. I got a call later that he had discovered some glitchy wires that may have also been shorting the battery and he had contacted rad wagon and found it. It was under warranty and was able to get me a replacement bike. I was floored! I was happy to pay for set up of the new bike as they had put a lot of time into it. When I realize I had forgotten the key lock for the battery when picking up the new bike they came to my house a mile and a half away to pick it up. It was incredible customer service. I have two ebikes and kid bikes and this place will be my go to for servicing in the future !

Only the side tread on one of the tires was probably close or a little off requirements, and the car is three years old and not driven much. The other treads are perfectly fine only the side tread is maybe questionable. The old guy there even said why didn't you pass the car inspection. The young one insisted one of my tires side tread is no good. Very unfortunate how they hustle you. I told them to fail the inspection over the phone after they gave me this spiel. I will take my business elsewhere. Also sidenote, I went somewhere else and I passed the inspection. Danny's autoshop enjoy the free $37 I gave you. You did put the work in.

They welcomed me back with open arms and gave me the royal treatment. Anyways, They replaced a my blown subwoofer along with a cable head connection thingy and installed it at a reasonable price and in such a short time. I must be honest, I've always loved the quality sound they initially gave me and now it sounds even better!!!'
