I will never return to Genna Jewelers after the rude treatment from the older woman I received today. I will never buy anything from that store again or recommend them ever again. I have been having jewelry made for the last few years with stones I purchased. I always worked with the designers in NYC and NJ, so I decided to give a local business a try at getting my business that can be quite lucrative over time. I went in to get an estimate to have some earrings made and the salesclerk must have gotten insulted when I asking if the designer was in to give me a quote. She said she was giving me the quote, which was overpriced because I saw what the gold baskets cost for the size of my stones in the book she looked up. When she wrote up the prices, I told her flat out it was way too much. I brought in pieces that I had made recently in NJ, with a lot of weight in the gold ring, pendant, and earrings. I told her what I paid for each piece which was at least 40% less than what she wanted to charge! She told me I should go back to NJ and have them made there. THEN she had the nerve to complain to another clerk behind the counter that she "practiced restrained patience" with me. WOW! Great customer service! She should have waited until I was out of earshot or left the store before she complained. She should consider retiring or not be front facing with customers, she is not good for business. Well, I'm the one that wasted my time and energy trying to give them my business. So now, she has a negative review that will remain on the internet for all to see. P.S. I have never left a negative review before for any type of business, but she definitely deserves this one. When the crown from my beautiful engagement ring broke, we searched high and low to find the best quailed jewelers to assist. She's the only reason I'm still giving 3 stars. I left someone my information with what I was looking for. I was told I would get a call back when they create a rendering and find something similar to what im looking for. Never got a call or email. She had me look at so many options and even pulled out a used ring selection and cleaned them for me to best decide what ring style I wanted for him. I walked in to Genna's today with my late sister's watch, which wasn't running and, also, the band was too tight for my wrist. I had bought a new band that was very similar to the original. They replaced the band and sized it so it fits perfectly, put a battery in the watch, and shined up the crystal. In replacing the band, they found a little bit of 14k gold on the old band (it was a company gift to my sister, so it was the company name), and by recycling that, there was no charge for the watch repair. And, they were all super friendly and gave me a glass of champagne while I waited. My sister hated her old company so I think she would have been very pleased that I recycled the little piece of gold with their name on it. She was their number one producer and they fired her when her husband got cancer, because they didn't want to pay for his insurance. Thus she hated them, so I think she smiled down on this whole affair today -- especially the glass of champagne. I'm happily enjoying her nice watch and it feels like Merry Christmas! read more

I'm so glad that I found Genna Jewelers. When I first started looking for a ring, like most guys, I was completely lost. I started my search at another jeweler in the area and found the sales staff to be pushy and unwilling to listen. This seemed to be the norm at most Jewelers. I then turned to the three big online diamond websites. They market cheaper prices and software that's supposed to be better than seeing your purchase with your own eyes. I did days of research and finally bought a ring from James Allen. However, when it arrived it was dark, dull and barely sparkled. Now it's obvious to me why online diamonds cost less. I went into Genna Jewelers the next day to get an appraisal on my dull diamond. I started talking to the owners Peter and Kateri and felt comfortable for the first time in the ring buying process. I skipped the appraisal, returned my online ring, and scheduled a time to look at some diamonds that Peter picked out. Every stone was amazing and they all sparkled under any type of light. I picked my favorite and was excited to learn that it actually cost less than the dark diamond that I bought online. Plus, I was dealing with some of the most honest and helpful people in the industry. My fiance loves her ring. She brings it in routinely for free cleanings and prong tightening and is always greeted with the same kindness that I experienced. I usually don't write reviews for anything, good or bad.
