Delicious food, quick service, reasonable fees, but when we sat down at our table, it was a mess and was the only booth available, and we didn't know if someone was supposed to come take our order or if we were supposed to go up to the counter. So we waited about 10 minutes before going up to order. After that, it was easy. Ordered and waited about 10-15 minutes for our food to be delivered. I ordered the pizza steak sub loaded, and it was amazing, delicious, super messy, but it's supposed to be. My friend ordered a similar sub and fries, and both were delicious. The food is good, no doubt. The pizza is - as always - on point. Little flop, good quality cheese, just the right mix of sweet and tart sauce, just very good! My wife ordered a Greek Salad which was good, not great. Too much iceberg lettuce; but whatever - I suppose that is a Greek salad. The service was fairly quick for a Sunday evening at 5:30 - maybe 15 minutes from order to food in hand. The only suggestion I had, and this is on me, is to look at the digital menu - which has pricing - since their paper menus do not. The 16" pie is only $1 more than the 14" pie... Their ambiance is similar to the other Genova's spots in the area - basic but good for pizza and pasta. Not fancy, just what one may expect in a pizza joint. But this pizza is the real deal!! And the young ladies working there are all friendly and courteous - must be the Carroll County water :-) read more

(Visit - Fall, 2024) Popped in for spaghetti dinner for my 10-yr old We ate our takeaway order inside bc spaghetti in the car isn't manageable. 1st - her meat sauce SMELLED wrong. Not like tomato sauce smells. I couldn't "put my finger on it". Then I tasted it first- it tasted like tangy BBQ SAUCE!! I THINK it had spoiled or something...unsure. It was absolutely disgusting and she wouldn't eat it. Nor would I allow her. 2nd- ordered garlic bread takeaway. Simple enough. The bread slices were neatly arranged in the container...and then LIQUID, MELTED BUTTER was poured over the slices, absolutely SUBMERGING them in what was nearly 1-inch of melted butter in the bottom. I literally SQUEEZED out a few slices just so she could put something in her belly. Gross! I didn't know you could ruin garlic bread. I have been a faithful customer to Genovas in Hampstead md on and off for over 25 years. Meaning they left Hampstead at one time and then returned all reformed. I have always been very happy that's why my family and I return. However lately with all the new staff the pizza comes put burned and the soup is usually luke warm. We ordered two pizzas, baked ziti, and french fries from this establishment via delivery. The food was delivered fast and there we no issues with the phone order and what we received. We are from NJ and NY. This pizza was similar to what we're are used to getting. I think it may have had a little too much cheese but I may have ordered that. The ziti was pretty good too. We moved right up the hill from Genova's in October and the food is always perfect for when we don't feel like cooking. Meatball pizza is so good, and so are their speciality pizzas. Delivery is fast and the staff are very nice and accommodating. Plus they have the plastic tables on their pizza; I feel like restaurants don't do that anymore unless they are serious about their pizza craft. My husband once picked up the wrong pizza and when we called to let them know OUR mistake (in case we had someone else's), they actually delivered the right pizza to us right away. Sub rolls are good and the salads are large portions. One comment: I love mozzarella sticks. It would make me happy if your mozzy sticks could have less dough, more cheese, and be a little crispier/melty instead of chewy. read more

We have been a Genova's customer since there was a one window carry out in Greenmount. The steak and cheese sub on their homemade rolls is exceptional. Piles of beef with all the toppings you wish. We always get at least one. The pizza, to our taste, is the best in the area. The crust is medium--not thin--thick and usually cooked crispy and good. Their tomato sauce is well seasoned without the sickening-sweet catsup flavor of other places. The sauce is ample, but does not dominate the pizza. Cheese is piled on and all is topped with seasonings. Other toppings are average to a little light portions, though. Tomato and Basil pizza is s family favorite. The Stromboli is great too; get sauce on the side for dipping. We do like their other subs and main dishes. They could be "more better" if they took the leap and served fresh-cut French fries. Their current offering is greasy, and a SMALL serving for the money. We never get them anymore. The previous owner at their Hampstead location had the fries right!!! They were really good and served in a nice size, rectangular sandwich box. It's a shame the recipe wasn't left on the wall. We have tried the other local establishments for miles around. Genova's (at any location) is the best--consistently good. read more

We also have been Genovas loyals since their first shop in Greenmount and their bread is top notch. My wife always gets the cold cut subs and I usually get the cheese steak, lasagna or the pizza. Its a near weekly visit for us and my son loves the pizza and location and we are very happy to visit there. My favorite thing is the new Coke machine that allows you to make a custom drink. My favorite recipe is half cherry coke and half vanilla! There is no question that we will be back this week! read more

I have lived in Roberts Field for 4 years and I have ordered Genova's the whole time. I think management has changed recently because 3 times my order took over an hour and was disgusting like it was sitting around and wasn't out to be delivered. I'm done!!! It's not like it's super cheap food so whatever if it tastes not that great. I will now travel less then a mile to pick up food at J&P, where I know I'm going to get quality food. Genova's to go has really gone downhill. Subs are nothing like they used to be. We can only get pizza here once in awhile. Tonight, we stopped to get a carry out which we have done before. A simple pizza sub was burnt on the bottom, cold, with one side cut up into small triangles and the other side intact. French fries are lousy. Ask for crispy fries and you just get hard over cooked fries. Why are fresh made fries so hard to come by. Their pizza is very good. That's about all I can say. It's all a bit overpriced, when compared to other local pizza places. For example, they have 1 size for their french fries. They call it a "single" but make no mistake, it's a very small serving. They charge $3.29 for their small fry. When you do order their french fries, make sure to ask them to put them in just a bag, and not a box otherwise they will arrive soggy and damp. a two topping medium pizza runs a little over $17.00. So, to feed two large male adults with two fries, and a medium two topping pizza costs almost $30 dollars. But their pizza is very good. Lastly, J&P pizza I would say is a direct competitor, except they don't deliver. If they did deliver, This review would be a lot harsher. For amazing pizza delivered to my door, I'm forced to pay the extra money. Maybe one day I'll outgrow my utter laziness to save 5 dollars on a meal. But until then Genova's to Go, of Hampstead gets 2 stars. read more

Wow. Came here for lunch while in the area for business on the suggestion of a coworker and I've got to say, I'm impressed. I ordered the personal size big steak stromboli. It took a while to come out, but I figure that's because they had to cook it fresh and strombolis take a while. Once it came out, it was huge! I took home half for a meal later. Not only was it large, but it was very tasty. There was a ton of meat and cheese inside, and the dough was crispy and delicious. I got the sauce on the side instead of baked in, and the sauce was also very good. Next time I'm in the area I'm definitely going back to Genova's. read more
