My wife and I are Italian. We had high hopes because the place was busy. We were very disappointed. The pasta with clam sauce was extremely garlicky and so strong with basil you couldn't taste anything else. I like al dente but the pasta crunched. We ordered veal cutlet, chicken parmigiana, meatballs to go with the spaghetti side dish and a few other dishes. This is a nice new Italian Restaurant we wanted to try. They are located in a new business complex. They were steady and we were warmly greeted by the Hostess, he was also our Server. In typical fashion, the food and drink were good, very very good. We arrived to enjoy happy hour and we ordered an apple martini and another cocktail - very good. We ordered some HH appetizers which were good, smaller than the usual order size, so $ for $, not a super special, it a good quick bite. We then enjoyed Eggplant Parm and a pizza with Italian sausage. The flavor was good, the eggplant portion was the smallest we've seen at Keccos, but not small. Just smaller than usual. We continued the meal with more beverages, house wines and Heinekens. The beers were warm, oddly. The food was tasty (as usual). The only knock was the noise level and the staff unloading cakes in the entrance (there is a back door and side door). The food is on point, consistent, and full of flavor. Will return! read more

I'd probably say it was 3.5 stars, but rounded up for good pizza and cheese wedges. Have been several times, and the food is typically solid. The mozzarella triangles are a def yes! If you're into mozzarella sticks, def get these. So fresh and handmade. Delicious. This last time, I got the insalada mista with salmon and tried some of the eggplant parm. Salad was good, fresh ingredients - salmon was on the thin side, but some prefer that. The eggplant parm came out super quick and looked piping hot with steam, but the inside was barely warm...very peculiar...but assume the cheese was recently melted on top. It was ok. I was all prepared to write a positive review, as I've had previous experiences that blew me away. But after this last time, I'm afraid I won't be back. We came in and sat at the bar. There was no one at the bar besides us and this older Italian guy... the owner maybe? We were sitting there for about 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged. No drink menus, no napkins... nothing... just an abbreviated menu with half of the normal food options. Most of the employees were standing around speaking in Italian, completely unfazed by the fact there were two paying customers sitting at a bar. When we finally did get acknowledge by the one female bartender, she seemed completely frazzled. It was abundantly clear that she was the only one actually working. Now food... they've changed their menu. I understand it's an Italian place, but they should still have options for people who don't eat cheese. I have never been to a place where I only have one option on a menu. And having been to this place before, I never had any problems. When we finally got the food, the portions seemed very small - and the taste very underwhelming. I was expecting a lot more from an Italian-owned place. What's more... the owner was very chummy with almost everyone else who came in, but seemed quite annoyed with us. We sat there for almost two hours and barely got a meal and a drink. The water was never refilled, and it seemed as it we were more of an annoyance to them, when we would have gladly had 3-4 drinks each plus a dessert if only we felt welcome. Bottom line... this place used to be good, but now it seems if you're not a regular, you don't belong. Save your money and go somewhere that actually appreciates your business. read more

I was looking for a restaurant with a patio where I could bring my dogs to enjoy a meal out. I found Kecco's definitely fit the bill. The service we had was phenomenal. And the food cooked to order came out super quick. It even came out before the special drinks we ordered. I ordered the Procida pizza which was a mix of seafood and cheese with a red sauce. It was just the right amount, very tasty, and just the right seasoning. I definitely enjoyed my meal. My friends got the flounder with lemon butter sauce and the Gnocchi. But literally within 5 to 7 minutes our food was out and piping hot. The covered patio was also very nice, and they had shades. They could roll down if necessary. As a southern Italian, Kecco's is my go-to place. Tony is Neoplitan and cooking is in his soul. The atmosphere is friendly, service great. I always start with either the fried calamari or the arancini-- both perfect. I usually get one of the delicious Milanese's, veal or chicken, although they are not always on the menu. I love the option of bringing my own wine for a modest corking fee. IMO Kecco's is way better than the Italian places in the city which are far more expensive and try too hard to be "exotic" with strange fancy dishes, (maybe because i'm not a fan of Northern Italian cuisine.) Kecco's is worth the drive from from the city or burbs. (I shoot up 795-- in the summer, when they have outdoor seating, often once a week.) Like all American Italian restaurants, pasta is pre-parboiled, (never understood why, they don't do this in Italy), but if Tony is not overwhelmed I've occasionally asked him to specially make me something al dente. Overall, don't waste your time and money on the overpriced downtown places which seem to have stuff from Venice to Ivrea to Tuscany, usually expensive, and IMO, more "show offy" than deliicious. For me, the best Italian family style food is from Roma, Napoli and Sicilia, and Kecco's does it perfectly. read more

Top marks for this place. A business associate and I were looking for a place to have a late (2pm) lunch. I am generally leary of establishments with 3-1/2 stars. I am sure glad that we stopped. It was just the two of us so we went for something simple: Two pizzas. One was Carnosa, which is basically meat-lovers. I thought that it was outstanding. For our second, we chose Fuarigrotta. This is a white pizza with Prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, arugula, and shaved Parmigiano. It was also very good. Not my favorite toppings but tasty nonetheless. The crust is amazing. All of their pizzas are one size; 12", as I recall. They're larger than your typical "personal" pizza. But one will probably not cut it for more than two people. The two of us had pizza left over. The service was attentive and the atmosphere is pleasant. I'd go back here in a minute. If I didn't live 700 miles away, I definitely would. read more
