Absolutely fantastic gelato ! We tried several flavors and opted for the white sesame, dark chocolate and the bankok (which is a mix of coconut and banana). All of the flavors were so delicious! I want to go back asap!!!

I was craving an affogato and found this place in the area I was at... They were very nice and patient, the girl that made my affogato gave me some flavors to try without me even asking because she saw my face all confused trying to choose which flavors to choose. I was so pleased to come here and try some place new! The ambiance was chill and definitely on the quieter side. The affogato was incredible!! Perfect combination of flavors, I had: *Mandorla di Toritto + Fior di latte*, coffee made to perfection and was not overpowering or too bitter, affogato was so so good!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Never crowded, always pleasant service, tons of plant based options and they're dog friendly! Favorite flavors are mixed berries and passion fruit. The dark chocolate is yummy too. Their sorbet melts fast though, like as soon as it's on your cone so be aware to start licking ASAP. Great local spot!

I love gelato. It was sheer joy to be able to fulfill all my day long and 11 pm gelato cravings in Italy. I made it to Bari on the east coast and fell in love with Gentile Gelateria. Imagine my absolute euphoria when on a rainy night in May of 2025 I find that the same, beautiful and delicious establishment is also here in NY, 4499 miles west of Bari. This review is for the location on the Upper West Side on Amsterdam and 84th. This happens to be one of five branches in the NY metropolitan area - Williamsburg, University Place, the West Village and Nolita. This gelato is homemade. It is dense, rich and so freakin' delicious. Sex in a cone, with a second cone on top. I have been hooked on the " Gelato alla Nocciola", hazelnut gelato! The coffee here is strong and robust. The pastries and mini cakes looked so freakin' appetizing. The team is happy, beautiful and loving. They greet and serve everyone with love, Italian style. The store is immaculate and the color scheme jumps out. Hats off to the owners and international team who have successfully brought Italy to the US and upheld the consistency, the quality and supreme taste of this stellar gelato.

If you love gelato, you can't go wrong with this place. We got a cup and it was absolutely insane; they also let you try flavors before you purchase. I also got the frappe and asked if they could add two shots of espresso, which they did, and let me tell you best idea ever. TASTED AMAZING!!! Highly highly highly recommend!

Artisan baked goods and premium gelato. The server allowed me to try a few of the flavors. The gelato was creamy and rich which I enjoyed but definitely on the pricey side $9+ for a scoop. My only qualm is that the flavors are a bit muted or have light undertones.

Absolutely loved this gelato spot. Definitely some of the best I've had in NYC. Flavors were not too sweet and tasted so fresh. Also love the ambiance of the store. Service was fast. The bergamot was a good texture and not too sweet and the flavor was yummy. The milk cream was amazing but had no sour cherries which was disappointing. Would still go back because it tasted so good.

I came here in single digit weather, and wow did the hot chocolate hit. The hot chocolate was super rich, to the point where it felt like drinking straight liquid chocolate. The inside is super fun, with half the store dedicated to gelato and half to chocolate. The decorations were unique and fun! The service was really friendly! They helped us go through the flavors as well as buying various chocolates. Overall, Venchi is a great spot for amazing desserts!

He had never been to a gelato and I suggested it! (I've been to one other location) The second you walk, the place feels lavish. The storefront is pristine and gorgeously furnished. The chocolatiers/gelatieres are so warm and one walked up to us while we in line and explained the size options and options for what they will coat our cups and cones with - I think the options were dark chocolate or hazelnut. You also are able to sample any flavors before choosing! Being that I just ate, I got myself a small treat, a "baby" cup of pistachio gelato. They had the Dubai chocolate pistachio flavor as well, but I felt that one was too sweet for my liking. I was very happy with my pistachio! My sister in law enjoyed fruity gelatos and my brother a rich, dark chocolate. Every gelato comes with a chocolate, which is a nice added touch. The store was clean, the workers very hospitable and the gelato delicious and authentic! Thank you Venchi for an awesome experience, as always!

The flavors were totally lacking in so many of them that we sampled! Even the ones we picked were very bleh compared to other gelato places. The ambiance was just alright and service was quite poor. The girl working was friendly but the guy, not so much. And both were the only ones working and it was soo busy liens were so long service was slower and no one to give samples. Had to order separately at kiosk with all the flavors prior to going up to them making it very inefficient and time consuming process unless you already know everything you want Got the classic cone 4 flavors for $10 and cone upgrade $2 for chocolate hazelnut side and the chocolate was so thin it was barely anything and same with the hazelnuts, very disappointing. Couldn't even finish the cone itself because it tasted so bad. Just cone for the picture and that's it to be honest, nothing else going for it, prefer others in the city!

The first time I came was on a Monday after dinner, and there was a short line. It moved pretty fast because they had multiple people scooping gelato. I got the medium size with pistachio, pavlova & mixed berries, and chocolate almond. The chocolate almond was my favorite but all were so yummy. A perfect sweet treat :) Medium size is good for 2 or even 3 people if you don't want too much. They stack your cup sooo high! I came back in less than 1 week. It was a Sunday after dinner and a very humid hot day and the line was sooo long out the door omg. I got a small with hazelnut crunch that might be my new favorite flavor! I also got the stracciatella, but that one was too creamy for me. Also they LOADED my cup, it was definitely too much to finish alone. Interior has a good amount of seating, and I was able to get one both times!

I settled on the pistachio creme brulee (one flavor). It was a creme brulee base with pistachios mixed in. The texture was a little more liquidy than what I expect from gelato. Flavor was less bold and less creamy than what I expect as well. Ate a lot more like a sorbet. Pricey at about $10 for a small waffle cone (excluding rip). Service was quick and polite.

I ordered the parfait, and while it looked beautiful, the whipped cream had a really unpleasant oily mouthfeel that overpowered the dessert. The staff did offer me a macaron when the topping I wanted was out, which I appreciated, but it arrived noticeably smushed. The gelato itself was decent. The blueberry cheesecake flavor was tasty and actually tasted like blueberries, but the fig was so mild that I could barely taste it. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the condition of the shop. It gets a lot of foot traffic, but it didn't seem like the space was being kept up with. The seating area wasn't very clean, which made the experience feel a bit off-putting while trying to enjoy dessert.

Apparently this little gelato cart is seasonal and only out May through October. We had our lunch in Central Park & were then in the mood for gelato so walked a couple of blocks to cool off with the best gelato. To me the good gelato has to have that perfect gelato texture and theirs did not disappoint. It was delicious! I had two scoops - pistachio and mokaccino (coffee and chocolate ) and my friend had a scoop of fresh strawberry and a scoop of chocolate mint on a cone. The mint had fresh sprigs of mint. So good. They also had sorbet (sorbetti) for those who can't have dairy or are vegan. (Or just love fruit sorbet!) The non-dairy options were coconut and raspberry. I definitely want to come back and try the raspberry sorbet Also, the fountain there is so beautiful, a great place to eat gelato, watch the fountain, and people watch.
