They don't even sell baguettes. They got these from another store and they resell them over the weekend. It's not even on their menu.

Today, Monday, I picked up an order using the To Good To Go (TGTG) app, which helps reduce food waste in our communities. This is end of day food, or prior day's left-over food from stores and restaurants. The items were supposed to be a value of $15, but the items in the bag were not that value, nor were they in-house baked goods. They gave me 2 stale cut up baguettes, which they normally don't even sell, nor are they on their menu. According to the counter staff person, they order them from somewhere else so they can sell them on the weekends. (So they were baked Friday?) The counter staff person said her boss packed the TGTG bag and there was nothing she could do. I question these baguettes: which kitchen were they cooked in? Someone's home kitchen? I've never seen baguettes sold or baked in Reb's store, only desserts. In fact, this is what Barachou advertises: "Handcrafted choux à la crème, tarts, and viennoiseries -- all made fresh daily." Anyway, what I got were 2 stale baguettes which were cut in half so as to fit in the bag and one croissant (that's fine). The baguettes are inedible, and they can't be price verified because they are not even on their menu. If they're going to advertise on TGTG, then they need to honor the intent of the app, and provide the stated value of yesterday's leftover OR extra dessert items. This was bait and switch. Bait & switch means you advertise one deal (ie "$15 value") but replace it with a much cheaper deal. TGTG customers know they are getting day old or end of day items, valued as such. But they should not be shortchanged and given $5-$8 values that are advertised as $15 or $18. The bag should have had something like a cookie and 2 almond croissants or 3 specialized croissants. Even more disappointing as I have shopped here often especially when she was first starting out during the pandemic. Sorry Reb, but you lost me as a loyal customer. ***editing to respond to owner: I've never had a TGTG restaurant regift another restaurant's goods yet claim they are baked fresh in store. I've also never gotten baguettes that are already cut up for me. Do they do it that way in France? Also does Bread's bakery know that you probably buy their baguettes three for $5 special and then probably resell them at your store? Or do they deliver direct to you as one of their vendors? Just curious.

    Passionfruit Tart, Tiramisu(?), Passionfruit Tea

Barachou was pretty good but nothing special IMHO. First and foremost, the price of their cream puffs for that size is absolutely ridiculous. Just go to Bibble & Sip if you want reliable tasty cream puffs at a good price. My friend and I got their take on a tiramisu and the passionfruit tart. The tiramisu pudding(?) was good but nothing special. The passionfruit tart's cream was lovely but the outer shell/baked crust was so hard that it was basically inedible. I also got the unsweetened passionfruit tea which was fine but again, nothing special. All in all, Barachou didn't live up to its hype for me.

My friend and I checked out Barachou for dessert since we were in the area. The shop is very small, and if they decide to expand, I hope they decide to offer more seating options. Right now, there's only room for one party to sit down, so you either need to bank on the fact that you're going at an off-time, or know you're grabbing and going. The displays are cute and cozy, and the presentation of the tarts, puffs, and pastries are beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by these puffs, as I thought they would just be instagrammable and offer nothing else. We got the special of three puffs for $10. The puffs are tiny and bite-sized, which is the only reason I think they are overpriced. We got the passionfruit puffs and split the lemon meringue. If you like passionfruit, I highly recommend the passionfruit puff. The tangy flavor really came through and balanced nicely with the pastry, even with a generous amount of filling. I would have liked a stronger lemon flavor for the lemon meringue, but it may have been influenced by the power of passionfruit. These puffs would make a great gift for someone special who likes pastries, or a treat for yourself if you're treating yourself. I'm just a glutton who isn't a big fan on spending on something that is so tiny, but I cannot deny that it was a quality bite.

Delicious cream puffs! The service was fast and nice. The cream puffs were delicious and pretty. They even have a class for decorating choux. They also have a location in the East Village. Cute shop inside, and they pack the choux nicely. They have macarons and cake too.

This place is not super small but not a lot of seating. During the summer they have a few seats outside. Everything is tiny with large prices. Love their bite size puffs but they are really expensive compared to other puffs for their size

    Passion Fruit Meringue Tart

I got the passionfruit meringue tart and three cream puffs- flavors: tiramisu, whipped cream, and dulce de leche. Passionfruit meringue tart: I was most amazed by this one. The crust was delightfully crunchy in a texturally very satisfying way that was a nice contrast with the creamy passionfruit filling and fluffy meringue. The passionfruit filling is flavor forward and was the right amount of sweetness and tartness. I know it's a meringue tart but I wish there was more of the passionfruit filling and less meringue tbh. If you like passionfruit, this is a must-try for sure. Even if you don't have a particular liking for passionfruit, I think you'd still find this so delicious. Dulce de leche cream puff: Out of the three flavors, this was for sure the best one. The pastry has a nice soft crunch and the puff was properly filled. The cream filling was light and fluffy, and the dulce de leche on top was very flavorful and added a delicious sweetness to each bite. Whipped cream cream puff: my favorite part of this one was the little pastry hat on top that was satisfying to just munch off. Other than that, it's good but in a mid way, just cuz it's literally just whipped cream inside the puff. Tiramisu cream puff: Ugh I was so excited for this one cuz I loveee tiramisu and everything tiramisu flavored but damn what a disappointment. The pastry had a dense, soggy, chewy texture as opposed to the cream puffs that had a nice bite to em. The inside was not properly filled at all, it was like one fat dot. Maybe I just got an unlucky unfortunate cream puff. The flavor itself was spot on tiramisu taste with an espresso filling and sweet mascarpone cream on top. You do wanna get all the components in one bite tho cuz the filling is surprisingly bitter but works when it's with the sweet top.

Perfect bite size and kids friendly. Had a few seatings indoor but it's not far from the museum or Central Park. Must try flavor of the month, we had chestnut on Dec 31st and can't wait to get back in Jan for the new flavor.

I would legitimately give them 100 stars if I could! The BEST little French cream puffs and tartes in the city! These are honestly my favorite treat. My personal favorites aside from the cream puffs are the passion fruit and seasonal apple tartes, but everything is delicious. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients and see how much love goes into making their desserts beautiful. We always order the larger size tartes for special occasions. I also really appreciate that it's a small business, female owned, and the staff is always lovely. It's a special shop and we are so lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

I stopped in on a whim and picked up 3 little cream puffs for $10. The crème brûlée was my favorite by far. The cream was smooth and sweet, and the caramelized sugar added a nice element of texture to it. The lemon meringue was delicious, but I wish it was more lemony and tangy. The mango was their special flavor, and I found the cream to be gritty. It tasted vaguely fruity, but I wouldn't say it was mango flavored. There is minimal seating on the inside and a small patio for outside seating. It's a great spot for a mid-day sweet treat given how small and light the cream puffs are.

YUM!!!!! Don't know if I haven't had legit cream puffs or if I have just not tried GOOD cream puffs in my life but these little pastries were amazing! Love that there's an option to a get a box to try multiple. Also the server was super friendly and offered recommendations to try. There's some inside and outside seating, not super big but on a Monday morning I had no problem finding a seat to enjoy these bites of heaven. 1. Classic: super light and sweet 2. Hazelnut: this is coated in chocolate and has a cream filling. If you sit outside, eat this fast so it doesn't melt 3. Raspberry (my personal fave): any time a non-chocolate dessert is better than a chocolate dessert for me , I know it's good. This was the perfect summer treat. Super fruity and sweet. Was very tempted to go back for a box for just these

So cute and delicious! Got a couple cream puffs and macaroons for an afternoon tea set and it really added taste and visuals.

A cute little shop in UWS specializing in French pastries, specifically pate a choux. We grabbed a box of three petite choux cream to try. All their flavors were very enticing but we ended up with Pistachio, Creme Bruleé, and Tiramisu. I enjoyed all of them. The fillings were all very creamy and flavorful. The choux itself was also nice with a crunchy craquelin top. My favorite was the Pistachio though. Would love to try all their flavors at some point. They have very few small bar seatings so I wouldn't bank on dining in.

This review is for TGTG bags. Creampuff box included 5 creampuffs: 3 tiramisu, lemon and cherry. This was prepackaged. Pastry bag included baguette, chocolate chip and a passion fruit tart. I brought the tart and cream puffs to dinner and they were well appreciated. The staff was so friendly and gave me my choice of tart. We now have a place to grab last minute desserts on the UWS I'm looking forward to the baguette tomorrow after I go to the farmers market.

You have to go in person to join the waitlist, and the staff will not seat you unless your full party is there. It is always fun going on the weekend because they have specialty menu items. The food is consistently tasty and served very quickly. A few highlights include: - Banh Chung | Crispy Rice Cake: A solid starter to share among two to four people. The texture is chewy with a light crispiness on the outside. There is also a vegetarian option. - Vegetarian Curry: A savory yellow curry made with a coconut milk base. Really appreciate the variety of seasonal vegetables included. - Bun Ca Hai Phong | Fried Fish and Tomato Noodle Soup: Highly recommend getting this during the weekend! A nice alternative to the typical meat-based dishes. The tilapia is lightly fried, so the tomato broth does not become overly heavy, and the dill helps cut through any extra oil to balance out the flavors. - The beef noodle soups are also very good, but are more classic options. The rice platters are great to share since the portions are generously sized. The staff are always friendly and helpful throughout the meal. Service is very fast, especially considering the restaurant has always been full.
