I've been a fan of Pica's for a few years now. I'm sad that the Upper Darby location closed, so now we need to hop in the car for a short ride over to West Chester for some Pica's. The staff here is always welcoming and friendly. We normally get the pizza and save a bit of room for dessert because the lemonchello cake is delicious! If you have not had Pica's pizza, it is a very unique pie. Thin, pan pizza, cheese, and then sauce on top, sprinkled with Parmigiano Reggiano and whatever toppings you ordered. They had a crazy take-out special for Eagles games, 12 Pack Miller Lite, 2 Large chees pizzas and 20 wings for $70. That's a good deal! Don't be dumb and call asking for this deal in 3 years, I'm just saying it's a good deal now. I'm sure it will change so just check before calling. read more

Joined here for a family member's birthday and had a table of 10. The menu is pretty big and there were plenty of specials to choose from. As far as cocktails, I would stick to Wine and stay away from mixed drinks. They tasted very perfumed and not well done. All of the appetizers and meals were pretty good with the exception of a pretty liquidy pasta. Our waiter was young, but pretty friendly. Things were very slow to come out and had to be asked for a few times. For example, we did not get our table bread until 15 to 20 minutes after ordering appetizers and entrees. Went for pizza take out on a Friday in lent. Could not get through on the phone driving to the restaurant but went inside and they said 10 Minutes even though the place was bumping. Good square pizza. Upside-down style. Plenty of cheese and sauce. Was a litttle light on flavor in the sauce, could use some spice. I've been eating at Pica's for as long as they have been open (even in Upper Darby location). I've loved their pizza & dinners. I also do take out often. Yesterday, I ordered my usual eggplant Parmesan and was really disappointed with the portion size suddenly being much smaller. There was a larger piece of bread & an extra ravioli but it didn't make up for the much smaller portion of eggplant parm. I would normally always give 5 stars. read more

The beyond nasty older lady with a strong accent at the hostess stand was so incredibly rude to the waitstaff that it made for an overall very uncomfortable experience. I actually asked the manager if she was the owner and the manager said no. I told her that her loud, rude behavior towards customers and waitstaff alike ruined our experience. Her response, "Weird, she's been here like 10 years". Oh ok, awesome, so she's been abusing your employees and customers for a long time, well, we feel much better now! The food was just ok, but could have been very good if we hadn't waited so long for our burgers and fries that were lukewarm at best. Probably better when they were hot. We forgive the cold food, but cannot forgive the treatment of the young waitstaff. You'll NEVER get another penny from us. How you treat people matters!!! Went to Picas in West Chester with family on Thursday night. It was horrible. We waited a long time before a waitress showed up. We ordered. The antipasto had discolored salami in it. We ate it and we are all still alive. my sister and I ordered the Chicken Piccata. It was disgusting. The angel hair was total mush and the sauce had no flavor and tasted like paste. No lemon flavor at all. Ravioli was ok. Pork sandwich was salty. We will never go there again. I also heard that they failed the Health Department inspections twice. read more

They have the best pizza in the area. I could order a plain pizza and mozzarella sticks every week. Haven't eaten there in person yet but their takeout is always efficient. Five of us stopped here for a late lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the antipasto as an appetizer and a burger for my meal. The antipasto was big with rolled meat, pepper shooters, beets, onion, olives and sweet peppers. The creamy Italian dressing that came on the side was tasty. My burger was perfectly done and had great flavor and came with a ton of fries on the side. My only complaint is that they don't give you a bottle of ketchup, only little cups. If you ask for extra, they will oblige. Service was ok, she forgot a few things we asked for (paper napkins, drink refills were a little slow) and brought an appetizer we didn't order, but overall service was acceptable and she was very friendly. This is not "your normal pizza". First time take out from Picas and I found it to be more like tomato pie, though spicy not sweet. Maybe there was some mozzarella cheese under the sauce but I couldn't tell. I suppose many people like it this way, but I won't be going back. read more

Delicious food! We recently got take out that was delicious. The mozzarella sticks are the best around. The eggplant parm is also delicious, best I've had in this area. We decided to dine in next time and loved our meal. My husband got lasagna and he loved it! He orders it everywhere we go and said this was one of the best and biggest. I got the cheese ravioli which was good but nothing special. I love cheese fries so we got them as an app and they were super crispy and delicious. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Overall everyone in there was nice it was like a familiar Italian restaurant. The food came quickly and we didn't have to wait for a table. Had a nice weeknight dinner here with my mom and I enjoyed the local legend that is the square, upside down pizza as much as I do at Upper Darby. We had a large half plain and half roasted peppers and onions on the side. The middle of the pie could have been a little less soggy but overall great flavor. I love the Caesar salad dressing with their salad. Only setback is that you have to toss your own salad but I guess that's good because you can control how much you eat (but also if you're like me you spill it over the table). I don't know how the entrees or apps are because I come here infrequently enough that I have to get the pizza because it's unlike any other. Service was sweet and not rushed because it wasn't packed at all but I enjoyed catching up with my mom so this wasn't a problem to me. read more

My boss and I had a week day lunch one-on-one meeting at Pica's and it was a good experience. I had never been before but he loves all kinds of pizza and knows I do too so he suggested coming here. We split a pizza, half mushroom, half sausage & green pepper. It was hot and fresh when served to us. It is a very substantial pie, it could have fed about 5 more people, lol. I ate one single slice and he had two and let me take the rest home. My son and husband enjoyed some later on, reheated for dinner. It's definitely not my favorite type of pizza but it is good. Because of our choices of toppings, I had to eat mine with a fork and knife or it was falling apart in my hands and getting meat and sauce all over me, lol. But that is okay. Ordered take out over the weekend and was so blown away. It was Saturday night so I expected it to be busy, but they said about a 20 minute wait which was impressive given how long the take out line was when we got there. Ordered a chicken parm dinner with angel hair, and mozzarella sticks. The chicken parm was really good! Thicker than I expected so it was very juicy. The angel hair was over cooked, however I can't really blame the restaurant on that. It's such a delicate pasta that I'm starting to realize ordering it in a take out meal might not be ideal since it steams more once it's sealed. The mozzarella sticks were probably some of the beet I've ever had. Definitely homemade and BIG! Worth the money for sure. Will be back for sure. read more

On entering we were greeted very kindly by 3 Hostess'. The waitress came to our table right away and she was very pleasant. She suggested the small upside down pizza for the 2 of us. Did not try to sell us the larger size. We did buy the larger one so we could take it home & heat. it up. It heats up very well. I use to live in Phila. and we went to the Upper Darby Picas location often. The daily dinner specials were very good. We had. large upside down Pizza and an Antipasta which was. very big and fresh. Pica's is one of our favorite places to eat in the area. 1. The food is always wonderful! Always. Like grandma made it. 2. The people. They take such great care of their customers. Their customer service is above and beyond. My favorites are the soups of the day, chicken parmigiana, and fish entrees. My husband orders chicken parmigiana everywhere and Pica's is his #1. 2nd location of a locally famous Italian restaurant. Very nice decor. We had chicken and meatball parmigian grinders for lunch which were excellent. Amanda was our waitress and she was efficient and friendly. The only criticism I have is that the entrance to the kitchen is large and wide open. I've been going to Pica's for over 20 years. I respect how the food used to taste. I sadden to report its now subpar. It's an Italian restaurant with the worst Italian food I've ever had. The pasta was old and mushy! The calamari and BBQ wings were frozen then flash fried. HOWEVER, the prime rib was delicious! It breaks my heart to report such a let down. Very disappointed. Went there for Valentine's Day, expecting they would do something to make the evening special for their customers. No cocktail menu or something for themed drinks or anything. Then, we got hard bread that was a rock. Followed by seafood Alfredo which was awful. The sauce tasted like water and the noodles were horrible. Then my wife's crab cakes consisted of two fried ovals thrown on a plate. That's it. No garnish, absolutely nothing to make this a special dinner. Tasted awful, and looked awful. Didn't see her again for 25 minutes and had our food.
