I traded in my former car there for a Honda CRV. All went well until my battery failed after 5 years which was normal and I replaced it. it worked well for several months. Then the battery failed and I had to get it jumped. The weather was cold, however we have 4 other CRVs on my street, all of them except i are older than mine. None of them are having problems with the battery. Ive had problems with the battery not starting. I purchased the battery last summer, so it is not old. When I brought it to Avalon Honda they put in on a charging machine for 3 hours and said it was not fully charged and could take as long as 5 hours but did not offer any means of transportation. I could not wait any longer, and asked why a relatively new battery was such a problem. The Manager JOE and Service Manager Ross both said it was because I drove the Car on short trips and not often enough to give it a chance to recharge as most Senior Citizens do. I find this explanation highly offensive and discriminatory. I believe I was sold a LEMON Battery, because the others on my street have not had this problem. I purchased my CRV, believing it would serve me for many years. I have it serviced as required. So, as you can see, I am miserable in this situation. One-star rating is not low enough to rate this kind of treatment to a faithful customer. Rosalie Herbig Yes I am a Senior Person and should not have to deal with this type of issue

Their "3 Dog Night" event held annually in October helped support the Humane Society of Ocean City and guests and their pets were able to receive free on-site microchipping, tags & engraving, a special gift and dinner. How cool! Francey, the Director of Advertising and Community Relations, reached out to us letting us know of all their wonderful events, including those that are dog friendly! In addition to monthly events, they give back to the community and are launching their annual initiative to vote for your favorite Southern New Jersey Charitable Organization. For every vehicle purchased or leased, they will make a donation to one of four hometown charitable organizations selected by their customers. And, best of all, if you are in the market for a car, your dog can shop with you in the showrooms as they know how important all members of the family should be in the decision making process. Choose from many new and pre-owned models of Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Subaru, and Volkswagen. They even have a service and parts department to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape. They are the oldest continuous family run dealership in NJ and even deliver cars! While visiting the dealership, we met Jeremy, the Sales Manager at Subaru, who was so friendly and gave Brie so much attention. We even met a customer in the parking lot and she raved about the sales team and how friendly and non-pressure they are, so that is a big plus when looking to purchase a vehicle.

Scam Artists. Stay FAR Away…read more I want to preface this by saying I live in Maryland -- my GMC Denali broke down in New Jersey, so I didn't have many options. That vulnerability was clearly taken advantage of. The diagnosis was lost compression in the 8th cylinder. They gave us two options: replace the 8th cylinder for $4,200 with the possibility the cam was also damaged, or a full engine rebuild for $11,000. We also asked what they'd buy the truck for as-is -- they offered $12,000, which was reasonable given a working truck was worth around $24,000. We declined the sale and gave them the go-ahead on the cylinder repair. One hour later, they called to tell us the cam was already visibly damaged. That was hard to believe that quickly, but we told them to stop and put it back together. Then, less than an hour after that -- while the mechanic was supposedly still working on our vehicle -- he personally texted us asking how much we wanted for the truck. At that point, we knew exactly what was going on. When they called to settle up, they hit us with a bill for around $2,200, claiming 16 hours of labor. We pushed back hard. We gave the go-ahead, they called us back within an hour saying the cam was bad, and reassembly takes less time than disassembly. There is no world where 16 hours of labor applies here. After that conversation, they dropped the bill to $1,165 with our labor being $600 -- which tells you everything you need to know about how legitimate that original number was. Then came the pickup. My father sent someone from his company with a truck and trailer to retrieve the vehicle. The moment he walked in and identified himself, the man behind the counter accused him of trespassing and threatened to call the police. As he stormed out, our guy asked for the service manager -- the man behind the counter pointed at the door and said "he just walked out." When checking out, they threw the keys and receipt across the counter, which is very unprofessional and disrespectful. The police did show up. Our guy complied fully with everything asked of him. The officer's solution was simple -- take the truck and trailer across the street to load up. That's what we did. From the suspicious cam diagnosis, to the mechanic privately texting to buy the truck, to the fabricated labor hours, to the way they treated the person picking up the vehicle -- this place is not somewhere you want to bring your car. I noticed excessive tire wear and knew a wheel alignment was in order. The two front tires were so excessively worn the the cotton and steel belt fibers were showing! The car has been aligned twice in the 5 yrs I've had it by independent shops. I thought I'd let technicians that specialize in the make have a go at it. At the same time I had them mount and balance two new tires. My main complaint, despite assurances that the alignment is now within specs, is that the steering wheel is about 10 degrees off center when driving on a straight stretch of road. If the alignment is truly within specs, I'm willing to "live with it". I will be keeping an eye on how the tires are wearing, that's for sure! The bill came to $209.34. My other issue has to do with the estimated time frame that the car was supposed to be completed. The car was supposed to be done by 2:30 PM. I received a call from the Service Advisor who checked me in in the morning at around 1:30, saying the car would be done in about 20 minutes. Said he would call when the car was done. "Wow! Earlier than expected", I thought. When 20 minutes became 40 minutes, I called the Service Advisor. He said the car was done. We headed to the dealership to pick it up. Five minutes into our trip, the Service Advisor calls back and says he is mistaken, the tech still needs another half hour with the car! To sum up: if the alignment is good I'm happy. I'm unhappy with the inconvenience and miscommunication on the part of the Service Advisor.
