The space is pretty and welcoming with friendly staff, open walls, and big windows. I sat on the patio with some girlfriends with memberships who invited me out for the day. It overlooks a few rows of vines along with herbs and vegetables, which makes it feel peacefully designed. The cheese board was fantastic with a generous spread and variety. The wines were lovely too with bottles from different regions. If you're in Houston I recommend checking out Nice Winery and considering a membership. My friends all do the monthly one red and one white option, pick up at the winery, and enjoy a glass together on the patio. It is a great spot for a relaxed day!.

Upon arrival, we had time to peruse wines and chat in the rustic lobby. Then our educator Katie gathered us and led us to the Founders' Room, where we found wine, charcuterie and coziness awaiting. We sampled six wines, including two from their charity series and one from their virtue series. Katie walked us through how they became involved with charities, the meaning behind their virtue wines, and what Nice does to create and partner with other vineyard producing sustainable wines. We walked the property, seeing where grapes, herbs and other fruits are grown. This visit was a delight. As a non wine connoisseur, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will likely visit again.

I never knew this place existed. So when we drove up, i was a bit surprised that this has been here for as long as it has, whilst I remained unaware. So they have three business in one. They have a retail shop, as you will see from the photos. Racks on racks of wines. And they're not all high dollar. I think I saw some in the $20's for my frugal fermented fruit freaks (take no offense, I too am one of those). They also have a tasing bar and lounge (Indoor and outdoor). Their second business, is their wine club, which offers storage and a lounge. They have a few different plans you could be on. They also have a number of perks that come with membership that I'm not familiar with just yet. And the third business, which brought us here this evening, the school. They offer classes for enthusiasts like us, and also curriculum for those wishing to take their gratuitous grape glee to the next level. Our instructor for the evening was also a student enrolled in certification courses. In fact, he was due for another exam the following week. I hope he passed! Out course was Texas vs the World. We compared Texas wines in a head to head with wines from Italy, France, Spain, and California. The gal likes all of the non-Texas wines more. I had a Texas wine or two beating the opposition. At the end, the instructor let the class take wines home with them, since they couldn't use any opened bottles afterwards. It was a nice treat. Because we stayed later, and were the last two chatting with our teacher, he let us take 4 half bottles. I was unexpected, and they were very much appreciated. A little bonus to an already enjoyable evening. Check out their calendar and book a class or tasting. Great night out!

I hope to maKe it all the way to a diploma. I tthink she got me to pass the level one certification. I want to go Baal soon and take certification 2 while my knowledge is fresh. This class was great for the wine enthusiast or someoNe like me whhod like to retire and do something with wine. I thought I knew more than average and I didn't. Half the info was new to me but nnot overwhelming I know other places do this class in one day. I think three evenings was perfect. I can't wait for the next class Also you can do wine parties/tastings with less info and Morris tasting. You can order wines here. A cool place.

There were homey hand-written signs, the Swiss flag banner, and this lady standing on the porch waving at us as we rode by. I already knew that this would be a cute pace with sincere, friendly service. I immediately made a mental note to return. I did and am so happy to have done so! This place is owned by a Swiss family who used to have a bakery long ago but now sells Swiss pastries wholesale to various grocery stores and for holidays. They decided to open a this neighborhood store to bring their unique Swiss pastries to the community. They host birthday parties, have chocolate bar making classes, and host special Swiss raclette dinners. Sylvia and Lance welcomed me in with much enthusiasm and immediately began to show me around. As we looked around, admiring the adorable Swiss decorations, Lance told us that the red chairs with the Swiss symbol were specially ordered and made in Houston for them. There were cuckoo clocks on the walls, paintings of the Swiss countryside, and more adorable Swiss decorations. It really makes you feel like you are in another country! They explained how a few rooms is for the various classes and parties, and these rooms people tend to come in for a nice communal Swiss breakfast. They explained that they sell Danish style filled croissants, pretzel-shaped butter cookies, key lime cheesecakes, apple strudel, quiches, sweet breads, and more. All the pastries looked so good. Sylvia explained that the Danish style of croissant is different than French and American, plus they had the option of hazelnut or almond fillings. She immediately got excited and gave us samples of the croissants and butter cookies. I loved the hazelnut-filled one and loved the butter cookies. The almond one was good as well, but hazelnut was better. The prices are affordable too: :$2.50 for the filled croissants and $1 for the cookies. They also left gingerbread men for sampling at the front. They also offer espresso so you can sit down and enjoy the pastries there. I want to return to try the apple strudel! Sylvia showed us a giant gingerbread man that you can decorate in one of the parties. It is actually a traditional lebkuchen, not gingerbread, dough. This is a flavor and texture that old-world Germans may be familiar with and enjoy, but I warn Americans who are used to butter and sugar-laden gingerbread, that this is not what that tastes like. This particular lebkuchen is denser, less sweet, and has a strong anise flavor, which is like the original recipe. Don't let this turn you off; the dough is more structural than edible for the purpose of the gingerbread man-decorating and gingerbread house-making parties. All-in-all, my first experience was absolutely charming. Sylvia's father even came in and chatted with some other Swiss people. It is such a cute neighborhood place with good pastries and is a great place to host kid's parties or attend a fancy Swiss dining experience. I highly suggest stopping by! *PS, as of this post, it is only open Saturdays from 9am-2pm.

Due to COVID-19 I was unable to proceed (AirBNB owner cancelled then I was unable to secure another location). I told Chef Will as soon as I found out to cancel but he never refunded me. He said: "How do you suggest that I recoup the money I would have made from the other people I turned away for the date you placed a deposit on? You cancelled. You could've accepted a delivery on the date you requested and either improvised or eaten it later." - I told him he didn't give me any options such as delivery and never responded to my emails until much later on. He then tells me "I spent the last 2-3 days trying to book your cancellation with a couple of people I had turned away due to your booking. I had no luck." - Because you can't find any additional clients you won't refund me. Great business model. "As a professional courtesy I can offer you a discount on a future booking or a 25% refund.
