Dr Revah, Christine, Dr Smith and all his support staff, dental hygienists and front desk staff are beyond amazing. This place really lives up to its name. When it comes to dental work, things can get pretty scary pretty fast if you are one to go too long between visits like me. I have to say that I have not encountered one staff member here that didn't exceed my expectations. From the front desk, to the hygienists and my dentist, Dr. Kim, everyone here is so reassuring and kind. Bonus points go to Khang...he is excellent at what he does. The dentists are great, specialty departments (unfortunately I have had to see them for root canals and a pulled tooth) are wonderful and accommodating and the hygienist (Kane) is great! This place is horrible. If you're having anything done out of the ordinary routine check-up, they will try to trick you into paying more for the service. They don't tell you how much it will cost and will throw a huge bill on you as you're leaving after surgery. Don't ever come here. They don't care about you and will keep suggesting to get stuff you don't need like prolonging your braces wear or even getting them when you're 40. DO NOT SCHEDULE CLEANINGS AT THIS LOCATION. Hard lesson learned, you will only see a dentist if you specify you want to see a dentist; otherwise, you will only see a hygienist. I find it extremely disappointing that you go to a "dentist" to prevent cavities yet they don't even have you see a dentist. Such a poor practice!!!!! The dentist assistant even said that the hygienist aren't qualified to see cavities...WTF!! However, their orthodontist services are great! Lesson was learned after bringing my daughter there for 2 years without knowing she wasn't seeing a dentist during her cleanings!! After going here for more than 15 years, the dentist I had been seeing left the practice with no warning. The staff was rude when I expressed my surprise and displeasure that no one called me to let me know that my appointment would not be with this dentist. (Anyone who has dental anxiety will tell you that seeing a new dentist requires some warning). ** I decided to see a new dentist, who just found HUGE problems with my fillings and crowns. Gentle Dental had said I had two areas of decay and my new dentist found more than 16!!!!! Old fillings were left in my mouth to rot and GD just told me it was fine. I just want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Smolyar and her assistant Christine. I am a new patient to Gentle Dental and am in the process of having a root canal done which was infected. Dr. Smolyar was so professional yet at the same time sincere and concerned for me while going thru this process. She made me feel relaxed even tho i am anything but when having to be in a dentist chair. I would trust her for any other future root canal and wouldn't be dredding it. I had my Invisalign from here. The reason I went with Gentle Dental instead of somewhere else was mainly due to the cost. Other places were quoting me at least 1-2k more. With that said, I do think the service here is not very personal though Dr. Lim is nice. Most of the girls do not make you feel very welcome. In addition, they are not very good with their scheduling and late appointments are the norm. This is likely due to the fact that Dr. Lim is only in this office once a week so everything needs to be crammed into that one day, which is tough. I don't regret going here for my Invisalign. Eight years sober, going to a dentist was the final step of my recovery. Nervous and anxious, this was the hardest thing I've done since making the decision to be sober. My husband went to Gentle Dental because their price for a cleaning was$126.00 where our currant dentist was giving us a price of $257.00. Our current dentist was new to us too since our longtime dentist had retired. He went to Gentle Dental and they said he would get a cleaning, x rays and exam for a new patient promotion if $57.00. When he went they did the x rays and exam, but said he would have to come back for the cleaning which would be done in 4 deep cleaning sessions, one quarter of his mouth at a time. The first quarter was the only thing covered under the $57.00 special. After that each quarter would be $330!!! Plus they said some other things needed to be done and he left with a price quote of $1,600!!! Needless to see he isn't going back. The $57.00 new patient exam is a scam. Ive been to many many different offices.. and I came across gentle dental in Burlington. I called to make an appointment and the young lady who I spoked to named Amelia was very rude towards me. It seemed like she didn't want to book my appointment and she was maybe trying to do another task while being on the phone with me. I did not appreciate that as well. I had a wisdom tooth pulled here back in August 2014. The dentist was nice, but was not very professional (who wants to hear about the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge" while they're having needles shoved in their mouth?). The front-desk staff--the first people who you encounter when you enter the place--were absolutely miserable to deal with and were all-around stuck up. In fact, the day I went to get my tooth pulled, I could clearly hear them making fun of a patient that had called earlier that day; regardless of the situation, your patients should NOT have to listen to your workplace gossip. I honestly wish I knew the girl they were talking about so I could have reported a HIPAA violation. I called the office to speak to the dentist at approximately 6:30 that evening and was told that there was no dentist there; then why are they open until 8? I was not given an antibiotic and found that very bizarre, yet couldn't get ahold of a dentist. Low-and-behold, I got dry-socket because I did not have an antibiotic (I was extremely careful not to eat anything hard, drink out of a straw, or smoke for three days after the extraction; the direct cause of the dry-socket was lack of an antibiotic). Fast-forward, I saw another dentist a week later to have it checked, and she basically blew me off and said it was nothing, but thankfully prescribed me an antibiotic, which helped stop the throbbing. Almost a year later, I still get sharp pains where the tooth used to be. I work in the healthcare field, and I often hear of doctors, dentists, etc., asking why people wait and wait to get things taken care of. This is why. Who wants to go to a place that makes you feel unwanted the moment you walk through the door? There are plenty of very good, professional, and caring dentists in this area. I wish I was smart enough to check yelp before scheduling an appointment here, but I am very happy that I learned my lesson. I will never go back here and I really hope I can save someone else from making the mistake of going to this place. read more

I signed up with gentle dental back in 2008. I started going here for cleanings and started seeing a dentist there. Funny thing is I started getting more cavities the more I saw the dentists. See a pattern? They will purposely give you faulty fillings,caps,and create more holes in your teeth. One specific time, they closed a cavity for me which they charged me for, then 4 months later, they say it was a root canal, and will have to charge me again. Um .. Hello.. They are a bunch of scheming scavengers who advertise as if they actually care about the practice. They have absolutely no integrity. They will run you for your money. Beware. read more

Unprofessional Costly Rude Just an overall horrendous experience. You don't have to take my word for it, let the majority of the reviews speak for themselves. Had a front crown put in just two years ago with almost $3000 out of pocket. It fell out while eating nachos within the first week chipping a back tooth of mine. After re-cementing, here I am with still no front tooth and out almost $3000 as a single dad of an 8 year old two weeks before Christmas. This time my tooth fell out while in the shower. I baby'd the crown. Anyone who knows me knows this. Regardless, these lying scam artists tell me that its my fault and they can no longer put the crown in. I either have to pay another $700+ for a flipper, $3000 for a bridge, or over $5000 for an implant. Out of pocket since my insurance doesn't pay for it. Calling the better business bureau this week, this is asinine. Like someone else said, the McDonalds of the dentistry industry. Dentist turns from dentist to sales woman within ten minutes its SICK. This place is pretty impersonal. Feels like the mcdonalds of dentists... Kind of mechanical and impersonal. Plus they make you wear goofy clothes when they poke around inside your dome. The front staff is friendly and efficient. The dentist, Dr. Young I believe, is very good at his work, although his accent is difficult to understand. There is always a technician present, however, and she helped me understand him. They gave me a quote for a crown before scheduling it, and they only charged me what I was quoted. They checked my insurance coverage before a periodontist procedure so that I would know how much it would cost me. I elected not to have the procedure because of the cost and the periodontist was very understanding about that. They did not charge me at all for the visit. Everyone was very nice but professional. I've been coming to this Gentle Dental location for 5 years now. The first dentist I saw there was horrible, mean, and no longer works there. Since then, I have had nothing but good experiences. I've had cavities filled, my wisdom teeth out, and am about to finish Invisalign so I've been in the office frequently. The people at reception have always been great, sometimes a little busy and frazzled, but they always remember me and have been awesome about looking up insurance co-pays for me ahead of scheduling a procedure. I highly recommend Paul for getting cleanings done, and all of the dental assistants and dentists have been pleasant and competent. Unfortunately, Dr. Lim (the orthodontist) left last month, but his replacement seems like a really nice and capable guy. The office as a whole seems overworked, but the employees seem to be doing their best to make it work. read more

This is unacceptable. I have been going here for over a year (I guess I'm a slow learner), and it's been nothing but trouble. The front end staff has bumbled appointments, and even tried to make me feel like the one who screwed up. In the last three appointments I've had scheduled, ALL THREE were wrong. I'm tired of getting there and receiving a half-hearted apology about scheduling issues. I don't know much about dentistry, so I can't say how the dentists or hygienists are. I do think they are ok, but can't trust them if their staff can't even schedule a cleaning or filling correctly. I didn't have dental insurance and this was the most affordable dentist I could find. I always noticed my teeth felt very weird after I came in for a filling, to the point of severely uncomfortable. My gums on one side also felt extremely sore and continued to feel depressed and sore for months after a particular filling. I just switched dentists and they discovered that my gums had been irritated the entire time because the filling shape had been irritating my gum all along. Not only that, my dentist at Gentle Dental created gaps between my teeth (which I could tell from the day after my filling) that should not be there. read more

Gentle Dental in Burlington is amazing. I'm 54 yrs. old and have been to many dentists & even worked in the medical field for 25 yrs. First of all, this place is clean! Dr. Golparvar is by far the best dentist I've ever known. I had 3 crowns done by him & a deep cleaning by Michelle Rosati, one of the hygienists. My teeth have never looked & felt so good .Two of my crowns were in front & he made sure the color & shape was perfect for me. I 'm finally smiling again. He is kind & gentle & genuinely cares about his patients. He explains everything. I never felt an ounce of pain with anything he did. The dental assistants are fantastic. They're professional, yet personable & caring. The front desk staff are all helpful, as well as kind & patient. Everything is explained to you so that you understand. No one has ever been pushy with me. I can honestly say that I love going to the dentist. They make me feel extremely comfortable in every way. The fees are lower than most places, but the materials they use are of good quality. Two of the people I referred to them were stubborn about going to a dentist & hadn't been to one in years. Both of them are very happy now that they went to Gental Dental. They couldn't believe how gentle & painless they were. I have been a patient of Gentle Dental for MANY years. I had referred a friend to the office and was surprised when she said she had read bad things about the office. After reading the reviews of this office on Yelp, I had to write my own review. These reviews are WAY off base! Everyone has been GREAT, from the receptionists to hygienists to the dentist themselves. I have never felt pressured to have work done . If I have questions about the work I am having done, they have always explained fees BEFORE I have work performed. This review is coming late, but better late than never. I had to get a dental implant several years ago. During the procedure, the surgeon cracked a crown on a front tooth. After I asked them what they were going to do about it. They told me nothing. Needless to say, I did not go back there again. I just paid $928 for a new crown to replace the one they damaged. I recently changed dentists due to insurance. My first impression a year ago was questionable, due only to the fact that the office decor was not as new and as inviting as my old place. However, "I was not going to judge a book by its cover". Over the last year, I have met and was pleased by the friendly and comforting rapport of the office staff, hygienist, the dentist and her assistant. I had a front tooth crown replaced today. I was a tad nervous, but not only did they all put me to ease, it did not hurt and the temporary crown looks so much better then the permanent one I had been wearing for years! Have been taking my 7 year old son there for 4 years. We went for our appointment yesterday to learn that the hygienist he usually sees left the practice. The hygienist we saw had no patience whatsoever and went out and got the dentist, who also had no patience. He was scheduled to get sealants but then said that due to his anxiety (that they created by telling him his 2 molars were still soft and considered pre cavity- whatever that means), they needed to refer him out to a pediatric dentist. When I asked about x-rays, they said that they were surprised he never had x-rays before. Well since he's been a patient with your practice- shouldn't you have recommended he get them?? Worst customer service by a hygienist and dentist that I have ever seen. read more
