I went here knowing I have bad cavities while also having extreme dental anxiety. As soon as the dentist was working in my mouth she kept telling me I had "ugly teeth" and that "such a pretty girl shouldn't have ugly teeth". Not impressed anymore. The quality has been going down south for quite some time. The front office staff do not acknowledge you when you arrive. They seem like they don't like being there themselves. The last dental assistant I had is why I'm submitting this review. His name was Martin and he called me back. As soon as I stood up and walked towards the doorway he doesn't say anything and turns around and walk towards the back. So, I just follow him. He points to the chair that I guess is where I will have my exam. So, I have a seat. He says he needs an xray. So, I just sit there while he gets the xray pictures. Afterwards, he gets the materials needed for teeth cleaning. He wasn't pleasant at all. At this point I'm uncomfortable and ready to leave. He flosses my teeth and brushes. Then, the doctor comes over and he actually was nice. At that point, Martins demeanor towards the doctor was pleasant and they had a conversation. I'm so disappointed in how I was treated. Martin did not make me feel comfortable and put on a facade for the doctor. I will never be back. read more

These are pictures of my son's mouth 24 hours after braces because they rushed and did a half job - leaving wires poking and stabbing him. My daughter is also miserable with wires sticking out. They changed the treatment plan for both my kids the day of the appointment as well as the child before us. The office was slammed and they were pushing kids in and out as fast as possible. They literally handed my son 2 pieces of oral wax with their hands, no case, nothing - dirty wax that was handled by multiple people, to put in his mouth. My son has a loose bracket 2 hours after getting braces put on when he hasn't even eaten anything. I am so angry we chose them for braces. Avoid at all costs. Update: We went to a board certified orthodontist for a second opinion after this disaster. In my daughter's mouth, they didn't put the wire through a bracket, they tucked it underneath a bracket which was pushing up on her tooth - part of her tremendous pain. In my son's mouth, not only did they not put a bracket on the back tooth, they left a wire half an inch long sticking into his cheek. They did not seal the brackets so he lost 3 brackets by 4 days later. They were sliding on the wire. I have never seen a more negligent dentist in my life. The office manager Alicia has lied about speaking with us and the amount of money we paid for this negligence. She refuses to refund anything even though we had to start over from scratch at another dentist. This is malpractice and negligence on the part of the dentist and Alicia who is supposed to be the office manager. read more

Really nice dentist. He understood my fears and was gentle and kind. I've had lots of dental work and extractions done with no problem. But, my last extraction at Tomball Smiles was 2 hrs of torture with an inexperienced dentist and they had to call in a specialist for even more time. I was left swollen and bruised with stitches in my cheek! So when I went to Gentle Dental for an extraction I was scared. But, he was very patient, asked me frequently if I was okay and accommodated my request for nitrous. Piece of cake! What a difference! read more

I have been in the dental field for 25 years up until last year, I wanted to find a dentist close to my house when I had a broken tooth. They got me in immediately, was very very kind. I ended up needing a root canal and even tho for some reason I couldn't get numb, they never made me feel bad like I was bothering them. I arrived to my kids appointment on time. After my arrival they told me I needed to call my kids insurance to change the primary dentist. That the dentist my kids have been seeing is no longer there since Covid hit. I asked why they didn't notify me at least at confirmation of appointment. The excuse was they just noticed it. So I proceeded to call the insurance maybe it was just an oopsie. That was the first issue. Then as we waited one of my children went back. Which when I set the appointment they all had the same appointment time when I scheduled it. Which is how I have been doing it for years and they had always done it. After I was waiting for a while to find out out why the other two hadn't gone back I asked the receptionist. She proceeded to tell me they had stacked the appointments. So they were not scheduled at the same time. I told them that is not what I scheduled or was told on the phone prior to the appointment. I had not anticipated spending almost two hours at the dentist office for a routine cleaning. After that my first came out in tears that one of the people that was there had dug their nail into her lip while holding her mouth open. She already has a fear and anxiety over the dentist. With no compassion as to what she was doing. Or to my child's reactions to it. Finally my other child was called back. Then once that child was done by someone else they called my last child in. They didn't try to speak to me as to the results of each of the cleanings. It is not what it was pre Covid and I will be looking into another location. This location was so convenient and we enjoyed the debris that they had and as it is local and close to us. Now we will be looking elsewhere for a new dentist. Tow of the dental hygienist were nice and all but that does not make up for the overall issue we had. read more

Very good!!!..Dr. Fernandez is the best. He did great with my son and with me. I am the world's biggest wimp. He didn't hurt at all. My son is 12 and he didn't have any problems. My family and I have been going to Dr. Sawyer since we moved her eleven years ago, and I cannot imagine ever changing to anyone else. From the beginning, Dr. Sawyer and her staff made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. I never had a bad experience there. Dr. Sawyer always tries her best to meet your needs, never pressuring you and always discussing treatment options. A prime example is when I needed new veneers on my upper front teeth. Every year, I had been asking "Are they ready to be redone?" because I wanted them whiter. When one of the veneers broke, I got an estimate from another office that advertised cosmetic dentistry as a specialty of their practice. However, when I compared this consultation to my visit with Dr. Sawyer, Dr. Sawyer was much more concerned with choosing the right color and procedure, and individualized my treatment plan as opposed to the cookie cutter plan I received from the other practice. She was very meticulous in making sure the shape and color was correct, considering my skin tone, mouth and smile shape. She never rushed and made me feel completely comfortable. In addition, I have difficulty achieving adequate dental anesthesia. She made sure that I was comfortable during and after the procedure, which greatly relieved my anxiety about this. Her anesthesia injection technique is the best I have ever had. As for the office staff, I also cannot say enough. They are wonderful. They have always been very efficient, personable and friendly from my first appointment onward, and I see that they treat all the other patients the same. The same staff is always there and I look forward to seeing them with each appointment. I will continue to recommend Dr. Sawyer and all the staff to anyone looking for a dental practice. This is the most unprofessional dental office I have ever seen. The only reason I gave them one star is I had to, to be able to make this post! They called 15 minutes before the appointment (we were in the car almost there) to say that they would not do the procedure. They knew that my son had to travel from out of town, take off from a college class to have the procedure done. They had the x-rays from the previous dentist for 3-4 weeks, but waited until 15 minutes before the appointment to look at them and call us and let us know they would not do the procedure. While speaking with them in the car they hung up the phone on me. Then when we got to the office, we were obviously upset, we were told to leave the office. The person who works the front desk needs to be replace. I do not understand how a business that is this poorly managed is still in business. I would NEVER recommend this dentist to anyone! read more

they tell you that they are a pediatric dentists but do not take regard for your child at all. i have only had cleanings form them. my husband had to have two cosmetic crowns that even with insurance were extremely expensive. my husband said he wanted it done so we did it. well in the mean time my 4 year old had a cavity they were going to need to take a look at they did not have a kid friendly way to take x-rays so they sliced up the inside of his mouth and never got the xrays. so they were going to go in and start cutting and not really sure of what they were going to do or needed to do. witch makes no since any way we get there and they give him a little gas then try to stick needles in his mouth to numb I knew immediately this was not going to work I cant believe her she is supposed to be a professional and would even attempt. so now he was all gassed up and mouth hurting from her ripping on it now she is yelling and I mean screaming for him to stop moving. so she stops and walks away and says she will not be doing anything els she is going to refer me to some one els whom is an actual pediatric dentist and will actually put him under to do the now surgery she was calling it. I was furious she has now made me take off work yet another day for nothing and costing me and the insurance. she told me that she has never had this much trouble, every other 4 year old completely complies with her procedure that is a complete lie any parent would know that. i told her to refund the insurance for the initial visit for false practice as a pediatric dentist witch they are not. and they were also putting a small amount back in my sons account there. I told them to apply that to my husbands account since my son will never see the inside of that building again. I was told that this was done when it came time to pay of course the moneys were not there I had to call another office manager since the one in the office cusses at there customers and tells them to (bring it) like they are 15 and in high school I could not believe it. I again called her manager and she said that she was sending her home witch I called later and she had not sent her home. either way sending that employee home was not good enough she should have been terminated if I had ever spoke to a customer that way I would not have a job and neither should anyone els. and people wonder what is wrong with the world. were there is lots but people lying and treating people badly it the start. Did not one listen when they were told to treat people the way they wanted to be treated. it is a dentist office not the court house were no one gets treated nicely either. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS DENTIST. read more
