My husband and I are both patients and are very pleased with this office. Only complaint is the constant push for me to get a night guard which I don't want. While this is a great dentist, they don't accommodate those with unusual schedules like oilfield workers. I was recently caught out of town as my job ran over. I gave them 36 hours notice (all I had to give) that I likely couldn't make the appointment and would have to reschedule. 3 years I've been a client here... and they wanted to smack me for a $50 cancellation fee for myself and daughter, each. No consideration give to the job I have or the fact I was only 12 hours shy of their 48 hour cancellation policy. Avoid if you aren't a housewife with an open schedule or only have a standard 9-5 job. This place isn't for blue collar workers of any sort. read more

I went to Texas Star Dental at 7am on July 14, 2022 to get a deep cleaning on the right side of my mouth. Dr. Rollo had to give me additional anesthetic. I noticed my tongue was numb, as the anesthetic wore my tongue remained numb. I decided to go home early from work to sleep it off. The following day my tongue was still numb. I called Texas Star Dental first thing that morning and spoke to the receptionist. She stated Dr. Rollo said it can take some time for the anesthetic to wear off but did not provide a timeframe. I became alarmed, later that day I went to the office in person and spoke with Dr. Rollo. She assured me that she did not hit a nerve and that it take a few days for feeling to return back to my tongue. I am writing this review a month after my visit to say I still have NOT received full sensation in my tongue. After my in person visit no one from the office called me to check on me or offer any type of empathy. I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism and lack of concern from a dentist. If I could give negative stars I would. I was advised to seek legal representation and I will. It has been a month and it is clear Dr. Rollo hit a nerve and I am not sure if I will ever get full sensation in my tongue. read more

Had a fairly long procedure- mouth open for 3 hours (two crowns, two root canals, 2 fillings)- and guess what? NO PAIN. Dentists did a great job during the procedure, keeping me informed of what was happening, keeping me distracted with chatter, and before I knew it, I was out the door. Highly recommended! read more

I normally give this place 5 stars but after my last visit, I am rating it at 3 stars. I was in for a cleaning. The person who did the cleaning was rough and caused unnecessary pain. She spoke to me in a condescending manner and spent more time trying to sell me a treatment plan. I was told that my next appointment would be in six months and that it would be made at the checkout desk. When I got to the checkout desk, I got another high pressure sales pitch. The woman at the desk was so busy selling that she never made the appointment. I have been harassed less when buying a car than I was at this appointment. read more

I have been to this office multiple times for myself and once with my 2 year old. I'm always impressed with the entire team there. They all are incredibly professional, sweet and genuinely enjoy working with each other. It's like watching an orchestra play out as they use headsets to coordinate when a guest is welcomed into their room, to bringing in Dr. Rollo or Dr. Austin, and finally to checking out. They are always prepared for me and I haven't ever had to "hurry up and wait" for the Dr. to come in. As soon as the assistants are done with preparation the Dr. is called in. LOVE THAT! I had just gotten dental insurance and was looking for a dentist to go to. I had to ask around and finally my dad recommended Dr. Lauren Austin at Texas Star Dental. My first few visits, before I scheduled my checkup and cleaning, were to ask some questions. Her office staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions. Finally scheduled my appointment. Upon my arrival at the office, I entered and was immediately taken back by the interior. The interior looked like the lobby of a really nice hotel. I proceeded to fill out some forms (which I thought I had filled out before and turned in, but no big deal) and once this was done, I was taken back. The dental hygienist who took my x-rays/pictures of my teeth and did the cleaning was really professional and explained step by step what she was doing. After the cleaning was done, Dr. Austin came in and checked my teeth. She did have some bad news (had 3 small cavities), which she showed me on my x-rays/images of my teeth, but otherwise the rest of my teeth were fine. All in all, it was a very pleasant visit. Everyone from Dr. Austin down to her office staff really made my visit a pleasant one and I am happy to come back for all my future checkups and dental procedures. read more

But I will say that whatever you do do not deal with the chick named Tamara. She's literally the rudest person I've ever met. She snapped at me and snatched paper out of my hands. I've recently had some really bad experiences with dental work that have left me super anxious any time I have to get in a dental chair, but Dr Austin is super professional and was very intentional with the work I've had done. Highly recommend for children and adults! My 6 year old daughter had her first cleaning and filling here. Both dentist are kind, patient and were very gentle with her. I had my wisdom teeth removed here and they were very helpful with aftercare when I needed it. I have never been asked to pay more than I was quoted. I gave this place 1 star because my teeth got screwed in this place. It does have very nice environment and nice staffs. I had two of my cavity teeth done there at the end of last year and they still hurting now. I went back once to fix it but it didn't make any changes so I have to find another dentist to fix my teeth in stead. Not only this bothers me but there are another finding that really made me disappointed: After fixing two of my cavity teeth I still have two cavity teeth need to be fixed (by Texas star dental). However, the other place I went after Texas star dental Says I only have one cavity tooth left!!! I had them double checked and told them there may have another tooth needs to be taken care of but the answer is negative. I AM VERY SHOCKED BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW THE TWO TEETH THIS PLACE DID ON ME WERE REALLY NEED TO BE FIXED OR NOT!!! THEY NEVER BOTHERED ME BEFORE I WENT TO THIS PLACE AND THEY MAY NOT NEED TO BE TREATED... Nowadays I'm still suffering from these teeth. Another thing is: Texas star dental says I will need a root canal right away on one of my tooth but the other place says it may need a root canal only if it goes very bad because it will be a very big surgery for me when it doesn't bother me. I'm so glad I didn't do anything after then at Texas star dental since I had made all apt at this place and I changed my mind to see another dentist. My suggestion for looking for a dentist is: look for some different dentists before you are going to make big changes on your teeth. I have had a good experience with the dentists' work, however they have had me booked for numerous appointments incorrectly! I have had to pay $130 "no show" appointment before for an appointment that I was not even aware I was supposed to be there for. This time they told me they had me down for 12 pm and called me at 11 am telling me I have an appointment at 10! More than that the lady on the phone, Christina, hung up on me!!!!! I recently moved to the area, needed a new dentist and went here based on the good reviews. The office is very nice and all the staff and Dr Rollo are very friendly. However, they told me I needed more than $4,000 worth of work. I had just seen my home dentist a year ago and nothing was wrong back then, so I decided to get a second opinion. The facility of Texas Star Dental at The Vintage Park is nice, and the doctor was warm and courteous. However, my experience with the hygienist, Aimee, was very unpleasant. In fact, I believe I was treated disrespectfully by her. When Aimee was charting my teeth at my first visit at the office, because I have sensitive gum, my facial expression must have been tense or appeared painful, though I remained quiet, as she was poking my teeth around with her dental instrument. She became annoyed, and at one point, she stopped and said scoldingly, "Do you want me to stop and refer you to a specialist?" She repeated it and then simply stared down at me. I thought she lacked of empathy. At another point, I asked if I could have a Kleenex. She hesitated, then said, "okay, but don't spit on it. It is unsanitary." I didn't understand what prompted her to make that comment. It was presumptuous and disrespectful. She was stern and condescending through the whole process. Lastly, after she gave me her evaluation on my teeth and periodontal work was in order, she said, "I am going to refer you to my colleague, Dr. xxx..." I don't challenge her knowledge, but wondered if a diagnosis and referral like that should be the doctor's responsibility. I suggest to ask if they have another hygienist if you shall decide to go to this dental office. read more

Dr. Rollo has been my dentist for 4 years. She is such a comfort in my life. I know she will always do her best to care for me. If I'm in pain, she will get me right in so I don't suffer. She replaced 2 older front crowns and she and her dental assistant, Kelsey, were such perfectionists to make sure I was happy. I will never go to any other dentist office. I have been a customer since this business opened, Dr Austin is fabulous her office is beautiful, massage chairs, coffee, flat screen tv's while your worked on place for kids etc, and very accessible in the Vintage. Her office staff is less than desirable, I have had issues with billing the last 3 office visits and my husband has had to call up there and actually get in an arguement with the woman. I had scheduled an apt for two fillings that I needed done after a lot of dental work that exceeded my insurance, when I scheduled they claimed it would be a couple of hundred dollars to do the fillings without insurance so I scheduled, worried I called and asked exactly how much it would be and they said 450.00 WHAT! I said I would come back and get the fillings when my insurance renewed in 4 months. So I scheduled the apt for February, when I arrived I was asked to sign a credit card signature box (like in the grocery store) it was for a series of forms that I couldn't see, the receptionist saw them on her computer but I just signed in the box. one for anesthesia, one giving consent for the filling and one other don't remember, and I sat down . So I had the cleaning two fillings done and went to check out , and the same girl said that will be 200.00 WHAT wasn't this covered by my insurance? I waited 4 months so that it would be ....why am I being charged 200.00? Oh that's for the WHITE fillings she said , I asked why I wasn't informed that the white fillings would be an additional fee, and her answer was , " I don't know anyone that still does silver fillings anymore" that's not an answer to my question ...... so I asked again and she got a little huffy and said I signed the paper for consent , I got a little huffy and said I was told that was for doing the fillings not for a additional charge ., Why wasn't I informed ? So I paid the bill , as I was leaving I stated I would not be back because I cant use someone I don't trust , that upset the receptionist and she said "did you read your insurance manual" I said no I spoke to my dentist and she said it would be covered in February when my insurance renewed again, once again she stated "did you read your manual" so I left. I called and asked them to cancel the cleaning apt that I had set while still in the chair , and take me off their e mail and mailing list. and showed the bill to my husband . He called and questioned the receptionist/front desk/billing woman and she said after a lengthy discussion that we were due a 7.00 refund but I would have to call and give my credit card number , he also asked if I had a fluoride treatment , I said no I refused it why.... They charged you. I called and questioned why I was charged for the fluoride treatment and she smugly laughed , I asked is there something funny with my question ????? she said no I have to check the file, so I was put on hold after a 10 minute hold she returned to the phone and said there was no fluoride treatment written on the form so I was due the refund . 30 something dollars total . The amount of the refund dosen't matter, what matters is they do not have your back , and when you question the receptionist she is rude , derogatory and hostile , so that 170.00 that I was charged cost my favorite dentist a lifetime customer. read more
