The doctor kept leaving the room and coming back making the whole thing take longer . I feel like they are not fully trained and something is suspicious about the way they handled everything. I recently visited Gentle Dental in Queens after receiving a brochure stating that they accept all major insurance. As someone new to the area, I assumed I was in-network. During my root canal procedure, I was informed midway that they have their own internal pricing. Upon calling my insurer I learned that although they "accept" all insurances they are out of network for mine and now consequently, I am now facing over $4,000 in charges for a single tooth. This experience has been highly disappointing and stressful. Their practices are misleading, and I advise others to be cautious when considering this dental office. read more

Customer service wise, the front desk ladies were nice. It's very important that you print out the forms online. Otherwise, you better show up early to fill it out. Dr. Biller was very nice. He explained what he is doing and why. The xrays, checkup and cleaning took about 30mins. Fastest visit ever. Not sure if that's a good thing. The office is inside an apartment complex so it might be a little hard to find it or get out since all the walls and doors look the same. Once you arrive the front desk space is a bit dated and small. Once you get into the room the equipment there is a bit on the older side as well. Overall a decent visit. read more

I was in pain from a cavity but was worried about finding the right place for me. I typed in best dentists in Queens and this place was one of the results that came up. I looked at the name "Gentle Touch" and checked out the website and said... hey I have a good feeling about this place... let's see if they accept my insurance! They did accept it and I got an appointment very quickly. I went in today and was nervous at first but everyone made it a quick and painless experience. The dentist was awesome! He eased my fear of needles and his humor matches mine very well. Can't wait to continue working with this office on my smile! I definitely recommend coming here. read more

I chose Gentle Touch because they were near my subway stop, but my experiences with them have been so great I've kept them even since I moved out of the area. I've been a patient for three years and all of my experiences with either doctor or the dental hygienist have been positive. I feel like my examinations are thorough and the staff knows what they're doing. My appointments don't feel rushed. I've been happy with all of the work I've had done. I also have found that the office understands insurance very well, which is good because I've been frustrated with other medical offices when that hasn't been the case. I'm also pleased with the technology they have in the office. They have digital X-rays, which I hadn't seen before. I will admit I am one of those strange people who doesn't really mind going to the dentist. However, even with that trait, I have never found a more wonderful dentist office. All of the staff, from the front desk to the hygienist (Cristina), to Dr. Landau himself, have been nothing but friendly, prompt, and clear after several visits for cleanings and some light work. I have had problems in the past with needing many needles worth of anesthetic before dental work, yet Dr. Landau managed to do it with just one (and I barely felt the injections!). The work he did in reconstructing a tooth with an old filling that needed to be replaced was wonderful - it looks and feels better than it has since the original work was done. And Cristina's cleaning sessions are quick but thorough, plus she's friendly and reassuring the whole time. I'm so glad to have found them on the first try in my new neighborhood! read more

I must say that the practice has grown substantially but the attention to patient's needs has not diminished one bit! Yesterday, I went for my bi-annual checkup and had a cleaning with one of the most professional hygienists I have ever run across which was a surprise because my former one, Christina was amazing but left the practice some time back. Anyway, Nomiki was fantastic, doing a thorough cleaning, referencing my dental history and doing it all with incredible precise skill and I left very satisfied. Of course, my amazing dentist, Harold Biller, did his usual good work making sure my teeth were in good shape. Dr. Biller was my life saver as he took very good care of me when I did have problems and found the best solutions and I have been a loyal patient ever since which goes back more than twenty years. Good dentistry practices are hard to find and I cannot say enough good things about this one. read more

I called to make an appointment for my husband and I, and I mentioned to the person who answered the phone that my insurance information changed. I told her that I have Delta Dental and that my coworkers just give the social security number for them to look up the insurance information. Right away she said, "well then go to your coworkers dentist then"!. She then preceded to say that there are over 20 Delta dentals and that she needs a group number. As soon as she said "go to your coworkers dentist then" I stopped listening to what she had to say or why she needed certain information. Instead of being rude she just could have mentioned that she needs more information besides my social but no instead she starts with "well then go to your co workers dentist then" I'm so offended and angry because my first experience was great and I really loved my dentist. Now I will be looking for a new place to go since I refuse to go to a place where the staff is RUDE!!! read more

This review is more about the customer service and not the dentist. I called up Gentle Touch Dental Care because I needed to find a local dentist. The lady that answered the phone was a little sarcastic in my responses to certain question (which was a little weird to me) however, despite that I went ahead and made the appointment anyway. I was told that I can fill out the forms online and bring them in to speed up the process. The day of the appointment I called to let them know that I was running about 5 minutes late. I was asked "did I print out the forms online." I responded "no because my printer was not working." She proceeded to lecture me about how late I was going to be since I didn't fill out the forms and that I should have come earlier, and everyone has emergencies, etc. Now if I indicate I am running late, then it is for a specific reason. I felt like she was way out of line and very condescending. As a result I told her to cancel the appointment and I will take my business elsewhere. It's a shame I didn't get to actually see the dentist, due to the attitude of the person at the front desk. I only hope she is not like this with everyone. read more

I was reading the comments and decided to call to find out how much will be teeth cleaning to pay out of pocket. And yes, you were right. I called today at 4:46 pm and the woman was rude. I asked about the price of teeth cleaning and she told me that I have to do a check up and X-rays. I told her that I have my dentist and I have X-rays already. I can bring it to them, she said that she doesn't need X-rays outside. "You have to have a check up with out dr" she forced me to make an appointment tomorrow. I've been going to Dr. Biller since I was 16 and am now into my 40's. When I went to school in Florida, I visited a dentist who took one look at my fillings and asked who put them in. When I told him he said, "Well, he did a really good job. Very conservative." That was enough for me. Everyone at the office was very kind and friendly. I'm the type who gets pretty anxious at dentists, even on routine visits, so the attitudes and patient care matter quite a bit to me. The procedure itself was thorough but painless. The hygienist also took the time to consult with me on several things, giving me tips I actually hadn't heard before (for example a good technique to clean your tongue). I moved from another city having had a lot of work done on my teeth, so when I moved to Forest Hills I was concerned about finding a dentist who really knew what he was doing. It was clear on my first visit that Dr. Biller is expert, and he is kind. Dr. Landau performed an implant for me, and it was a smooth, easy process. I really like everyone in that office. As I ran in to my appointment today, frantically searching my wallet, I realized I couldn't find our new dental card. I had all the other cards, but apparently not dental, and since it had changed I didn't even know which provider it was with. Shit. I though i'd have to reschedule, which would suck given childcare issues, etc. But somehow the incredibly competent and helpful woman at the desk, Jessica, sleuthed it out with nothing but my social security number to go on. Within a few calls and in a few minutes she had my new insurance information in her hands. And she did it without making me feel like crap, which this tired and frazzled mama really appreciated! I've had only a few appointments there before. My husband chose the place because they used digital X-rays. And although the office isn't the fanciest, the people have kept me coming back. I've always really enjoyed (odd word to use!) getting my teeth cleaned by Cristina, who is sweet snd friendly and calm and thorough and nonjudgmental, and great at her job. I've only seen the dentists for brief amounts of time (luckily!) and they seem friendly and competent as well.
